Chapter 42
Bob has already been activating his plan to take down Kadeem that he told his secretary about. Bob sits the recliner chair in his hotel room. He got exactly what he wanted from Susan, information about Kadeem’s weakness. Bob takes another sip of his drink and chuckles. Susan has no idea what he’s been up to. Bob leans his head back against his recliner and shuts his eyes. He goes through his memories of all the havoc he has created in Kadeem’s pack.
Bob recently met Dylan and Anders, brothers who want power and control of the pack. They are willing to do anything to get it. For years, they have been the leaders of the Red Blood gang that harasses the pack. Bob went to them at their usual hangout, a small diner on the outskirts of the city. Bob declared himself the leader at that time. He also agreed to pay Dylan and Anders for every action they take against the pack. So far, Bob has paid Dylan and Anders $500,000 to graffiti walls, slash tires, steal cars, steal from storers, break into homes, and destroy everything inside, scare the elders of the pack, and start bar fights.
Bob smiles bigger when he remembers how he, Dylan, and Anders went to the edge of the Omega Pack and sexually assaulted as many as the three of them could find. It was too easy for them to find someone. Bob pushed the memory inside himself as he took slowly sips the last of his drink before he went to the pack’s emergency meeting about all the ruckus that had been occurring.
The basement of Kadeem’s gym was packed. Kadeem sat at the front of the room in a high-backed wooden chair with a velvet cushion. A camera crew points their cameras at the front of the room. Kadeem decided to broadcast the meeting to the entire pack. He wants them to feel safe in knowing their alpha will take charge and protect them from any danger.
Kadeem steps up to a podium with a microphone that is next to his chair. Kadeem looks in charge. He is wearing a tight-fitting suit that showed off his broad shoulders and every muscle of his chest. Kadeem looks strong and confident. The cameras zoom in on him, and the crowd silences. Everyone looks at Kadeem, but Bob stares at him with intensity. He’s ready to tell Kadeem’s secret.
“Everyone,” Kadeem says into the microphone, “It has come to my attention that a number of you are being harassed or vandalized.”
Many people in the audience raise their hands.
“We will find the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” Kadeem adds.
Bob shifts uncomfortably in his seat. He knows that if found out he is part of the chaos, he can be banished from the pack or even killed.
“Does anyone know who is doing these things?” Kadeem asks.
The crowd mumbles different responses and shakes their head back and forth.
Bob wants the attention off himself, so he will never be caught for doing the evil deeds.
Bob clears his throat and stands up. Kadeem narrows his eyes and points his finger at him.
“You, speak!” He commands.
“I know who have done these horrible things,” Bob loudly explains.
Kadeem opens his eyes in surprise. Ardal, sitting in a seat in the background, pulls the hood of her sweatshirt over her head. She does not want to be recognized. She knows Kadeem is getting his inner wolf back but wants to see him take charge while his inner werewolf is improving.
“Go on,” Kadeem says cautiously.
“Dylan and Anders committed these crimes against us,” Bob answers.
“Very well,” Kadeem responds. “We will send authorities to find them and bring them in for questioning.”
Bob nods.
“You can sit down now,” Kadeem commands him.
“I have another thing to say,” Bob says. He turns and faces the crowd of people in the room. Ardal glares at him. She wants to protect Kadeem.
“You have lost your inner wolf! You are no longer fit to be our alpha!” Bob screams.
The crowd gasps and murmurs. Adal rises from her seat, ready to fight for Kadeem, if she must.
The crowd’s noise rose as everyone began yelling. Three government ministers stood up from their seats and point at Kadeem.
“You are not fit to be our Alpha!” a minister sneered.
“You must be able to change to your inner wolf!” Another yelled, showing his teeth.
The three ministers stand up and surround Kadeem on stage. They grab his microphone and scream into it.
“Down with Kadeem!” They scream into the microphone. “He cannot be our alpha! He has no inner wolf! An alpha must have an inner wolf!”
Bob smiles to himself. The three ministers are doing exactly what they were paid to do. Bob believes he will take Kadeem’s place.
Meanwhile, Kadeem stands on stage breathing through his nostrils so hard, Ardal thinks smoke will come out of them.
The ministers continue to scream until the crowd screams with them.
Kadeem takes a deep breath, raises his head up, and stretches his arms out. He starts to transform into a huge, muscular wolf. His fur was a white, blueish color. His shoulders are powerful, his sharp teeth are a bright white, and his claws are long and pointed.
“Get off my stage!” Kadeem growls, moving from to side to slash the ministers with his claws. He throws the ministers off the stage.
Kadeem turns his face to his microphone. “Bob paid Dylan and Anders to make chaos in our pack. He also paid the ministers of justice to yell I should not be the alpha! I know what he did. Now, I will kill him!”
Kadeem sprints off the stage and tackles Bob. He stands on his chest, and slashes his paws back and forth across his face. Bob rolls over so he is on top of Kadeem and punches Kadeem in the nose. Kadeem bites Bob’s neck, breaking skin which spurts blood. Bob grabs his neck and puts up his arm to try to defend himself against Kadeem.
Kadeem hits Bob everywhere, giving him bruises and cuts everywhere. Kadeem then grabs Bob’s head and smashes it against the floor. Bob’s head roll to the side, unconscious.
Kadeem takes another deep breath and transforms into a man again. He stands up and screams, “Does anyone now think I can’t be an alpha?” The room stays silent.
“Does anyone think they can defeat me?” The room still stays silent. Ardal smiles, happy that Kadeem showed his powerful inner wolf.
“Get this piece of shit out of here,” Kadeem screamed. “Now, I will find Dylan and Anders. I will kill them!”
Ardal was beaming, happy Kadeem was transforming. Kadeem stands in the center of the room, wondering when and how his memories will return. He is ready to find Dylan and Anders and kill them.
