Chapter 4 The Bitter Truth

Julia was almost lost her breath as she felt water was running down her head. She opened her eyes wide and felt that her head was overlapped with someone’s shoe.

Though her sight was blurry, she could see Kay was sitting on his proud chair while sucking his cigarettes. He was looking at Julia with a sharp gaze.

“The world isn’t as beautiful as you imagine, little V. Get up!” One of the mafia scolded.

Though her body was weak and sore, the smell of blood that had been dried on her body was still could be smelled. Julia tried to sit, tried to gather her consciousness that was just come back.

“I know that you’ve succeeded on doing your mission, but then I realized that in here you’re not to be weak. And just because you were sick, you shouldn’t have thought that you can get fainted and get an intensive care.”

“Wha ….” Julia went silent. Shit! Her voice changer tool must have been broken due to being too long in the water. Julia hung her head low, she didn’t dare to say anything.

“Now that you’ve succeeded on your mission, please do tell me what prize do you want? Money, position, diamond, or what? I’ll grant it.”

This was her chance!

Julia scrawled to Kay’s feet, then she bowed obediently in front of Kay.

“Mr. Harvey, there’s nothing that I want except ….” Julia was still trying to make her voice sounded hoarse. She kept hitting the voice changer tool to make it work. “Please allow me to go to the basement!”

Everyone there was taken aback hearing Julia’s wish that was considered as nonsense. How could they not? Julia went through a big mission. Let alone million dollars, even if Julia had asked for a company, Kay would have granted it. Then how come Julia chose to only asked for permission to go to the basement which only contained captives who deserved to die?

Meanwhile Kay who heard Julia’s request rose his eyebrow perfectly. Of course he knew the woman who was pretending to be V-XIII would want to go to the basement. Because deep down he knew that this woman would want to know about the people Kay was holding captive. But what was her purpose?

Was it possible that one of her family members was kept there? Or was this woman part of secret agent who tried to track him and now was collecting evidence?

It was interesting and Kay felt challenged by a woman like Julia. He then smiled, and nodded his head while throwing away his cigar right on Julia’s side then stepped on it with his shoe.

“Alright, do what you wish. Now go back to your room and take care of your wound because I don’t wanna see you die.”

Julia felt happy, she smiled broadly. She bowed then kissed Kay’s feet for a few times. With a lurching body, she tried her best to get to her room and take care of her wound.

Kay sat back down cross legged. He was still looking at the key he had gotten.

“Mr. Harvey, is little V crazy? Even that key worth so much. How come he only asked to be allowed to go to the basement?”

Kay didn’t answer, then he chose to leave.

Meanwhile in the room, with quite difficulty, Julia tried to treat her wound that was caused by the bite of the sharks. The wound was almost rotten and felt very hurt. She tried to smeared some powder to her wound after she sprinkled it with wine. Soreness spread throughout her entire body, made her screamed in pain.

“Little V, can you take care of your own wound? I’ll help you. Come here.”

Julia was surprised to hear that. She quickly covered her upper body with a blanket then she took her new voice changer tool.

“Are you X? I’m okay, I can take care of my wound myself, trust me.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes!”

For a while, there was no sound that could be heard. Until finally the man called X snorted.

“You know, it seems Mr Harvey cares about you.”

Julia who had wrapped her wound with a band aid frowned perfectly. Really, she didn’t understand what X could possibly mean with his words.

“When you were almost drowning after you hit the ship. Mr. Harvey himself jumped to the sea just to save you. He was panicking as he was doing CPR and he gave you artificial respiration for a few times.”

Julia was surprised to hear that. She spontaneously touched her lips. Was it true that was what happened? The mafia boss cared about her?

“And maybe you will be the only member who got a special treatment. He didn’t allow anyone to carry you, it was Mr. Harvey who carried your body to the station. Maybe he felt guilty after making you a bait for that two horrible sharks.”

Julia couldn’t say anything, she chose to stay silent. Should she say thank you to Kay?

Julia shook her head. She rushed to put on her clothes. She didn’t have anymore time, she must go to the basement and look for her fiance.

After she was ready, she immediately went to the basement meanwhile Kay was secretly following her from a distance.

“Sir, are you going to stay silent? If that woman was indeed a spy, then we will be doomed.”

Kay’s jaw tightened up. He grinned as he watched Julia from under. “If that’s so, then I will kill her myself.”

Julia spread her gaze, trying to look into cell after cell for someone she knew very well. But unfortunately, not one of them looked like or similar to Robin. So where was Robin? Or was Robin taken to somewhere else?

Julia was getting frustrated. She kept looking at every vape at the basement, she really wished she would find Robin. She was almost give up. She was about to go further when she heard a footsteps. And unfortunately when she turned her body, she found Kay was behind her. He was standing while intertwined his hands behind him. The man looked at Julia with a sharp gaze and it successfully made Julia swallowed hard. She began to get scared to death.

“Did you get what you were looking for, Miss?”

Julia’s eyes bulged, her body was as stiff as a stone. She tried to walk backwards until she hit one of the cell walls. Julia’s heart was almost stopped right when Kay put a gun on her head.

“What is your purpose of coming here, Miss?” Kay asked as he looked at her with a very sharp gaze. His lips twitched, he was ready to pull the trigger right about now.
