Chapter 2 Chapter 2
Marcel's POV
“She is still outside, Alpha Marcel…” one of my guards informed me. I scoffed and puffed out the smoke from my cigar.
“Doesn't she have any common sense? Shouldn't she try to take cover from the rain? Well, at least she's using the umbrella, isn't she?”
“She refused to take the umbrella.”
A smile that did not reach my eyes spread across my face.
“Is she being serious right now? Does she think that acting like a clown is going to get my attention? Fine, let her get pneumonia for all I care!”
She was just acting tough. I'm sure by the time she gets a bit cold, she'll be running off and cozying up somewhere.
I noticed my guard was still standing there even after giving me the update, and I gave him a curious glance.
He backed away apologetically, bowed his head, and said,
“Alpha Marcel, I don't think she's going to leave that spot… she refused to do so unless you come out to speak to her.”
I stubbed out my cigar on the ashtray next to me. The world outside roared louder, the rain falling like watery bullets.
In that moment, I imagined her drenched to the bone, shivering so hard that her teeth clenched together, and this time, a genuine smile found its way to my face.
“Offer her the umbrella one more time. If she refuses, tell her that I don't want her in front of my property and she should find somewhere else to stand. Use force on her if you have to.”
“But Alpha Marcel, she—”
“Did I ask for your opinion?” I said at the top of my voice, swinging my arm and throwing the ashtray at the fool that dared to question me.
“No, you didn’t, Alpha Marcel.”
I leaned back into my chair.
“If you want to keep that head on your neck, you better stick to listening to the instructions of the person who pays you at the end of the month.” He was gone in an instant, and I was left with only my thoughts.
Perhaps it was about time I broke it off with her.
Our relationship had been easier when she put it out whenever I asked and folded like a clip whenever I needed to.
But these days she is beginning to grow a spine.
I didn't like that.
She was nothing more than a f**k toy.
Honestly, I wasn't impressed by her when I saw her the first time.
The mate bond made me confused, why would the moon goddess pick somebody so pathetic that she would have to be waiting tables? She was also the most Omega-looking Omega I had ever met in my life.
I had every intention to leave the restaurant without approaching her.
But that was before I got the whiff of her scent, and I was as hard as a rock in a moment's notice.
“Are you clocking off soon?” I asked her after calling her to my table, not even minding that there was another woman across from me.
“No… I still h-have another hour.”
Ugh, hearing her talk was a bit eternal, but the scent was back and quick to save the day.
“Let's leave anyway. You won’t be coming back here again,” I said, and the woman I was sitting with was trying to make a fuss, but I used my alpha aura to suppress her.
I took her to my mansion.
Then I had her over and over again.
Now, she was anything but skilled, though she did confess to me that it was her first time. Her movements were unbearably clumsy, but since we were mated, our bodies were quite literally made for each other. Every touch from her made my skin melt.
All the other women I have been with before didn't even come close.
That was when I decided that I would keep her around for a little longer.
What was only meant to be a one-night stand stretched out into something more.
She concluded that since I had taken her for the first time, we must be in a relationship. I never confirmed or denied anything.
Her naivety was not going to be enough to stop me from the best intimacy I've ever had in my entire life.
I stood up as a crackle of thunder ran through the sky.
She's not still outside, right?
My wolf kept bothering me, so I ended up going down to check. The cold breeze whipped at my face, but I moved forward until I saw her standing outside the gates, clinging to herself as the water beat at her mercilessly.
Is she an idiot or what?
I mind-linked my guards and went back inside.
She soon arrived inside my bedroom. I had also told them to take her to the guest bathroom to clean up before bringing her here.
There was a blank look in her eyes.
“Shouldn't you be thanking me for getting you out of that rain? Or maybe I should call my minion and have them drag you out so you understand?”
“Thank you,” she said in the most emotionless voice I had heard in my life.
I called her over, and she walked to me, dragging her feet all along the way.
My lips met hers aggressively, claiming her.
They were cold and enticing.
I pulled her into the bed. “Don't worry, I'm going to warm you up.”
There was no response on her side.
She would soon be crying out my name anyway. As usual, I was able to get both of us off, but instead of cuddling into my arms as she always did, she just turned her back on me and faced the other side of the room.
Was this her own thought of a protest?
Hilarious. She’ll be jumping into my arms by tomorrow.
After all, we both know by now that she can't live without me, and I'll keep her around as long as I keep having earth-shattering climaxes with her.
We had a good arrangement as long as she didn't ruin it with that petty relationship delusion she had in her head. I went to sleep believing that all was well in the world.
But then, when morning came, I opened my eyes and instinctively reached for her, but instead of finding her was the cold spot on the bed.
