Chapter 5 Someone blocked Jennifer on the street!
"Mrs Jenny?" the well-built man with a slight beard called out again, as Jennifer remained silent, confused.
"Mum? Be careful!" Alex looked worried and held his mother's hand tightly as he saw her about to leave.
"I will! Just lock the door, okay? Don't open it unless I tell you to!" Jennifer said softly.
"Okay, Mum!" Alex nodded, tapping the side of his head.
"Aish! Okay!" Then, before going out, Jennifer said to the driver.
"Sir, take care of my son! I won't be long! And please, when I give the signal... be ready to run away from here with all your strength!" Jennifer instructed the driver.
"Ready, ma'am! I will definitely help you! But who is he? Do you know him?" asked the middle-aged driver.
"I don't know. That's why I'm going out to find out!" Jennifer said softly.
"Oh... All right, ma'am! Please be careful..." said the taxi driver, a little apprehensive.
"Hmm! Thank you, sir!" Jennifer nodded firmly before finally opening the taxi door.
The man bowed slightly and stepped back.
"We'd better talk over there, My Luna! There are people here!" exclaimed the tall, well-built man with the foot-shaped face.
"My Luna? People? Hey! Aren't we both people? So, what do you mean by that? Sorry, I don't seem to know you. If you have no other business, then..." Jennifer had turned around and was about to get back into the taxi.
"Sir ordered me to pick up Madam! Mr. William? Alpha from Blackstone! We've been looking for you all this time! We thought... Sorry, My Luna, you're gone," the man said again softly.
Jennifer turned around and frowned.
"Hey! My name is Jennifer! Not Jenny or My Luna or anyone else! Who do you mean by Mr Williams? Is he Gerald William, CEO of William Enterprise?" asked Jennifer with an annoyed expression.
The man was a little confused, 'Why doesn't Madam seem to recognise me? Is she...'
"Why are you silent? Is it true? You better get out of my sight! And tell him, I, Jennifer Ross, don't want to work with someone as arrogant as him! Didn't he fire me? Then what else does he want?" Jennifer stood with her hands on her hips in front of the man who was usually feared by his opponents. But not by Jennifer.
"Work? Fire you? It's impossible for him to fire you, Myluna!" The man, who turned out to be Gerald's assistant, looked increasingly confused. "What's going on with them? Why did sir fire her, ma'am? And why doesn't ma'am seem to recognise Mr Gerald? What's really going on?"
"Yes! It's up to you if you don't believe me! But that's the truth. He fired me right in front of my eyes! Then why is he looking for me now? Regretting it, huh?" Jennifer grew even more annoyed at the confusion of Gerald's henchman in front of her.
Gerald's servant scratched his head even though it didn't hurt, "Wait a minute, My Luna... I mean Madam... I don't understand why Alpha Gerald fired you? Can a relationship like yours be terminated?"
"Why not? What relationship are you talking about? A relationship between a subordinate and a superior can of course be terminated, can't it? You’re really strange! Just like your boss! Enough, don’t bother me anymore! And get out of my way!” Jennifer was about to turn away but was then stopped by the man in front of her.
“Wait a moment, My Luna! I-I’ll contact Alpha Gerald right now! Can you wait just a moment?” His hand reached out to hold Jennifer’s but then pulled back.
‘I’ll be finished by Alpha Gerald if he finds out I touched his Luna! But why has Mrs Jenny become so strange? She doesn’t recognise Alpha Gerald, her own husband, or me?!’ the man complained again.
“Well, contact your boss right away!” Jennifer waited impatiently.
The man nodded and turned towards his car, reaching for his phone to call Gerald.
"Hello? Mr Gerald? I mean Alpha Gerald, I've found Mrs Jenny, I mean... The Luna! And... She is your Luna! Your mate! But..." The man spoke with his back to Jennifer, and Jennifer took this opportunity to turn around and get back into her taxi.
"Well, John? Are you sure it's really her? Then where is she now? Don't beat around the bush! Bring her home! As soon as possible! I'll follow later! Is she okay? Does she miss me? Wait... can I hear her voice?" came a deep but warm voice from the other end.
"Yes, My Alpha! But there's something you should know, your Luna... it seems she doesn't recognise you or any of us!" exclaimed the man who turned out to be Gerald's right-hand man, John.
“Impossible! Don’t joke around! I think it’s just Jenny’s trick! I know she seemed angry with me last time that happened… maybe she thinks… I… Never mind! Connect the call to Jenny, I’ll catch up with you! Share your location, now!” shouted the man on the other end, who turned out to be Gerald, quickly running out of his office to grab his coat.
John turned around.
But it turned out that the taxi behind his car had disappeared. John just muttered in annoyance.
"Damn it! She tricked me! Alpha... Alpha... Bad news! Your Luna... I mean Mrs. Jenny... has disappeared... again!" John shouted in resignation while pulling his hair.
"WHAT?? How could you lose her again? Why are you so incompetent, John?" Gerald looked agitated and spoke loudly, his emotions exploding.
"I'm sorry, Alpha... I asked her to wait, and when I turned around to call you..." John stammered, explaining the actual situation.
“Enough! Share your location! I’ll come there!”
“Alright, Alpha!”
“Click!”
And the call ended as John shared his location.
John spoke uncertainly.
“Oh, Moon Goddess! What game is this now? After six years of searching for her… and after finally meeting her… she disappears again! Madam, you don't know that you've awakened a terrifying wolf who is ready to attack anyone if you disappear again!" said John, exhaling heavily in his car as he waited for his master to arrive.
Meanwhile, Jennifer, who was being searched for by Alex, laughed out loud as they were about to go home.
"Mum! That was so nerve-wracking! That man is so stupid! You tricked him so easily! He must have been shocked when he saw that the taxi we were in was no longer behind him! Hahaha... you're amazing, Mum!" Alex laughed as he walked out of the lift towards their flat.
"Hahaha... Of course! That man named Gerald was so arrogant this morning, kicking me out and firing me from his office! Why should I bow down to him? Especially since he's just a lackey for that arrogant man! Why should I care?!" Jennifer laughed along, holding hands.
"But, Mums, why is he looking for you again if he fired you? Isn't that strange?" said Alex, furrowing his brow.
"Maybe he regrets it! Who told him to fire me! It will be difficult to find someone with high qualifications like me, right? Heheh..." said Jennifer, patting her chest, joking.
Alex was about to laugh again, but then his face turned pale when he saw what was in front of him.
"What's wrong, son? Are you sick? Why did your face suddenly turn pale? Is it because you're tired from using your mind-reading powers today? Didn't I tell you earlier..." Jennifer held her son's forehead.
Alex shook his head, looking ahead, and then back at his mother.
‘It’s not that... Look! That... that... our house... Mums...’
Alex pointed towards Jennifer’s apartment.
Jennifer followed Alex’s hand and was shocked, her heart nearly stopping.
“WHAT?? What... happened?? Why...”
