Chapter 2 I hope it's you, my Luna!
A few hours after Jennifer left the company, Gerald William, CEO of William Enterprise, who was attending a meeting at the company, suddenly pulled his chair back and stood up tall at 185 cm.
"The meeting is over! Everyone out!" Gerald said firmly, his sharp gaze sweeping across everyone there. His deep, greenish-grey eyes flashed, adding to his cold and frightening appearance.
All eyes stared at him with various questions, but no one spoke or argued with Gerald's order.
They hurriedly left the meeting room.
"Sir? Why did you dismiss the meeting with the company's top executives? They don't seem to like your decision! What if they start to doubt your leadership? Isn't this dangerous, Sir?" His assistant, who was also his confidant, Beta John, asked very cautiously when the room was quiet, leaving only the two of them.
"I don't care, Beta John! I need your help!" Gerald held his chest, which had been restless since earlier.
"My help? What can I do, Alpha?" asked Beta John, who felt strange about the behaviour of Alpha, who was also the CEO of Williams Enterprise.
"Hmm! Come here!" Gerald then whispered in Beta John's ear.
"What? Are you sure, sir? I mean... ma'am... sorry, sir... I mean... she..." Beta John couldn't finish his question.
"I'm not sure... that's why find that woman's file and give it to me! Find her wherever she is right now! I feel... she needs my help! I've been feeling uncomfortable since earlier! I'm sure this has something to do with her! If my intuition and feelings are correct! She's back! My Luna is back! Hurry! Find her!!" Aaron's voice was heavy and slightly trembling.
"Okay... Alpha!" Beta John dashed off.
"I hope it's you... My Luna! I've been waiting for you for so long..." Gerald fell silent, staring at the bright sky in the afternoon through the glass walls of his company, which offered a view of the surrounding office buildings.
Meanwhile, Jennifer left Williams Enterprise with a heavy heart.
Her dream of becoming a secretary at a large company in L.A. was gone!
"This is terrible! All because of that strange dream!" Jennifer cursed as she hit the steering wheel of her rental car. Jennifer remembered everything about that strange dream.
"What confuses me is who this man called Alpha is? And why does my heart always flutter when I think of him? Who exactly is that handsome but seemingly cold man? My husband? Ah, impossible!" Jennifer shook her head, laughing a little at herself.
"Dad and Mum said I don't have a husband! Let alone being married! Dad and Mum only said I have a child from insemination? And the donor doesn't want his name mentioned. But why does the man in my dream look so much like my son Alex? Is he... Arghhhh!! Everything is so mysterious! My head hurts when I force myself to remember it all!" Jennifer held her head, which was starting to ache.
Every time she dreamed, Jennifer always tried to remember the faces that always appeared in her dreams! Every time she did, her head was struck by a pain like being stabbed by a foreign object! It was so painful that it almost made Jennifer faint.
“Why did I feel so sad in that dream? Who was actually killed in that dream? Why did I call him father? Isn't my father in Chicago, Father Renold? Then who was the man lying on the floor? What is really going on here? It was like I was seeing another version of myself in that dream. And what was that... I... I was like... a werewolf? That's impossible! Come on, this is the 21st century! Where are there stories like that? Besides, I'm human! There are no werewolves in this world! Werewolves are just legends that live in the stories of romantic and fantasy novelists! This is reality, not fantasy!" Jennifer continued to think about her dream from last night.
About a year ago, Jennifer started having the same dream, though not every day. But back then, the dream was vague.
Her dream was like a shadow, a blurry silhouette, which is why she never bothered about it. But since yesterday, when she set foot in L.A., why has the dream become clearer and more real?
Jennifer could feel the pain as she ran and fell, feel her heart tremble and ache at the sight of the figure lying on the ground whom she called father? And... the disappointment towards the handsome, cold man she didn't even know? Why?
Just mentioning that man's name made Jennifer's chest ache.
Jennifer placed one hand on her chest, her heart pounding violently whenever she mentioned or thought of that man.
‘Who is that man, really? What does he have to do with me? Why does my heart always tremble when I mention him?’ Jennifer touched her heart again and tried to close her eyes.
“Argh! Enough, Jennifer! Wake up! Dreams are just dreams! Yeah, they don't mean anything! That dream just brought me bad luck! If I hadn't had that dream last night, I wouldn't have been late and lost my job! What you need to think about is how you're going to support Alex in this big city without a job! Yeah, I have to try to find a job tomorrow! Cheer up!!!” Jennifer forgot that she was currently driving her car and raised both hands while accidentally stepping on the accelerator because she lost focus, causing the car to speed up until...
“No... Oh, my God!!!”
Citttt!!!!
Jennifer was too late to step on the brakes and the front of her car crashed into a car that was stopped at a red light.
Dugh!
The corners of Jennifer's head were slightly reddened, and her long, golden hair with slight waves at the ends covered her face.
Jennifer hit the steering wheel of her car moments before the airbag deployed. It seems that the sensor was slightly faulty, causing a delay in deployment.
With great effort, Jennifer got out of the car and bent down to look at her dented car.
"Thank goodness... it doesn't seem too bad!" Jennifer breathed a sigh of relief.
But then Jennifer turned and approached the car in front of her that she had hit!
Jennifer covered her mouth in panic!
She had hit a Rolls Royce!
Jennifer paced nervously.
"Oh my God! What terrible luck is this? The repair costs will be so expensive! Why did I have to crash into a luxury car?" Jennifer kicked her car tyre.
"Damn it! Ouch! That hurts!" Jennifer cried out in pain.
Gritting her teeth against the pain, she knocked on the windscreen of the car she had crashed into.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Sir... Sir..." Jennifer knocked while calling out to the driver of the luxury car.
"Get out and sort this out quickly! I have a meeting in a few minutes!" shouted someone from inside the tinted car.
Jennifer swallowed hard, the cold air seeming to hit her body.
"Yes, sir!"
Shortly afterwards, the middle-aged driver got out of the car.
"I'm sorry, sir, I accidentally hit your car from behind... I was daydreaming earlier. I'm really sorry! I promise I'll pay for the damage. Here's my business card, but I beg you, sir, could you please give me some leniency and not take this to court? Please...? I know the repair costs will be very expensive, but I promise I'll pay it off or make installments until it's paid in full... and..." said Jennifer, bowing her head slightly, looking a little anxious.
Her hands began to sweat.
Someone in the car frowned and said...
"Jenny? Is that you?"
Before Jennifer could answer and approach him, her mobile phone rang.
Jennifer picked it up and turned away from the man in the car.
“I have to go!! Sorry, I have an important matter to attend to! Please tell your boss to contact me about the replacement, okay?” Jennifer shouted as she ran towards her car, abandoning her intention to meet the man.
Jennifer’s car drove away from the spot, leaving the handsome man looking stunned…
