Chapter 323
Instead of hiding in the bathroom and crying, I changed into shorts and a t-shirt so I could go into the home gym to take out my anger and frustration on the heavy punching bag.
Kickboxing had become a hobby that I enjoyed. I attended classes at Jayden’s gym at least three times a week. The instructor told me I had a natural talent for it.
Avoiding Victor, I went through the living room to get to the short hallway that led to Victor’s den and gym.
I flipped on the lights and gazed at my reflection in the mirrors lining the walls. The sour expression on my face made me cringe.
I began practicing leg work on the heavy bag, remembering the romantic dinner Victor had ready for me when I woke up.
I kicked the bag harder, wondering if I had been unreasonable.
He didn’t want me to quit college to work full-time with Shane. After the experience with Chloe, I understood how jealousy can make you think irrationally. But I’ve never done anything to give Victor a reason not to trust me.
“You had no reason to mistrust him with Chloe, yet you did,” I reminded myself and punched the bag as hard as I could.
Maybe his issue wasn’t jealousy or mistrust. Quitting a school like Frampton U was a big decision, and a near stranger's opinion shouldn’t have any sway over that decision.
I mean, Shane didn’t know me. He didn’t know how hard I worked to get into Frampton or what I wanted for my life. His opinion that I should quit was based on his life.
Letting his opinion affect my decision on whether I wanted to stay in college or not was foolish.
I gave the bag a mighty roundhouse kick.
Victor shouldn’t have jumped on me about telling Shane I would think about his suggestion, but I was wrong for not discussing it with him calmly.
I did twist Victor’s words, and I owed him an apology for that. But my beloved fiancé must understand that some decisions about my life are mine alone.
I continued my workout until I was soaked with sweat, and all my frustration was gone. Then I went looking for Victor.
We ran into each other outside the gym door. He had a hopeful expression on his face and a chocolate soufflé in his hands.
“I was coming to talk to you,” I said. “Is that for me?” I grinned at the soufflé. The man knew me well.
He held up two spoons. “I thought we’d share. If you’re finished with your workout, let's sit on the couch to eat it.”
I wiped my forehead with my arm, and he gestured with his head for me to follow him.
We sat on the couch. Victor put the soufflé on the coffee table between us and handed me a spoon.
“I apologize for saying things that upset you,” he said. “I was surprised to hear you say you might quit school. But it’s not my decision, and I shouldn’t have reacted like I did.”
“I apologize, too,” I said. “I overreacted, and I was twisting your words. And Shane’s opinion shouldn’t have any bearing on my decision.”
Victor put an arm around my shoulders. “I love you, Daisy. Whatever you choose to do with your life, I will support you.”
I took a bite of the soufflé and rolled my eyes with pleasure. It was chocolatey heaven. Victor laughed when I licked the spoon and sighed.
“I love you, Victor,” I said and licked chocolate from his lips. “I promise not to make any hasty decisions about school, and I promise you, and I will discuss it first.”
“That’s great, sweetheart.” He spooned another bite of soufflé into his mouth.
I put down my spoon. “Give me five minutes in the shower, and meet me in the bedroom,” I whispered into his ear. “I want to make up with you.”
A grin bloomed on his face. “Making up sounds great.”
I scurried into the bathroom and washed away the sweat from my workout. Then I dressed in a short, lacy pink robe and matching g-string panties.
The panties weren’t comfortable, but Amy told me Justin went crazy whenever she wore them.
Victor was waiting for me in bed. The top sheet covered him to his waist, but his bare torso made me drool worse than the chocolate soufflé.
His eyes practically popped from his head when I did a slow turn at the foot of the bed.
“Oh, Daisy,” he drawled. “I am a lucky man.”
I turned my back to him, opened the front of the robe, and let it slip off my shoulders.
I looked over my shoulder when Victor moaned. He definitely liked the g-string panties.
“Come here,” he said in that soft tone he saved just for me.
I spun around and gave him a good look at me from the front before slowly crawling toward him from the foot of the bed.
Pulling the sheet from his naked body, I studied his lean muscles. He reminded me of an erotic statue. He was perfect.
I reached out and ran my hand over his thigh. My touch made his aroused manhood stir even more.
Teasingly, I stroked his other thigh, a thrill rippling through me when he moaned. I had the urge to taste him, and I slowly eased myself onto my stomach and took him into my mouth.
His hands gripped the sheets as I worked my mouth over his sensitive pillar of flesh. His reaction thrilled me to my core. His pleasure caused me pleasure.
But when he was nearing his climax, I stopped and climbed up his body to straddle him.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he groaned. “Move higher.”
I did as he asked and moved up his body until I was crouched over his face.
My loins were on fire when he pushed the g-string aside and began to make love to me with his mouth.
I clutched the headboard and panted as he used his talented tongue to bring me to the brink of madness.
“Let me see that g-string from behind again,” he requested. “It makes your perfect bottom look even more alluring.”
I climbed off him and got on my hands and knees on the bed.
“Like this?” I asked as I wiggled my bottom at him.
“Oh, yes,” he groaned. “That’s perfect.”
He got to his knees behind me and ran his hands over the twin moons of my buttocks.
Bending forward, Victor kissed each cheek before pulling the lacy panties aside and placing his manhood in position to enter me.
I was more than ready to receive him and pushed backward.
He caressed my bottom again before grasping my hips and plunging inside my love channel.
This position seemed a little wicked, but the pleasure was intense as he moved in and out of me. I wanted to climax, yet I never wanted this moment …this ecstasy to end.
But it felt too good to hold back. My climax came, and I cried out from the intense pleasure of it.
Victor held still a moment, letting me recover before continuing to plunge in and out of my body.
To my amazement, the pleasure started to build again. I didn’t think it was possible for my passion to build again this quickly.
Yet it did. I pushed backward against each of his thrusts while little moans escaped my throat.
I sensed he was ready and let myself feel his pleasure as we peaked together before collapsing onto the bed together.
I snuggled against his warm body and giggled. “We should argue more. That was fantastic.”
“It was better than fantastic.” He kissed my forehead. “But I hated fighting with you.”
My phone rang on the nightstand.
“Who could it be?” I mumbled. I hoped it wasn’t Shane again. If it was, I would let it go to voicemail.
But the caller was a new lead. “I have to take this Victor. It's about a new source for the story.”
I spoke to the young Beta for a few minutes, making a few notes and promising to meet them in person tomorrow.
After I hung up, I rolled back toward Victor to tell him about the new witness I found. But he had already rolled the other way and was pretending to be asleep.
I knew he was pretending because his breathing was too fast and deep, and his body was tense.
After I turned off the light, I snuggled against his back. Was he tired from the long, exhausting day, or was he angry again?
We lay silently in the dark for a long time until his slow, even breathing told me he had finally fallen asleep.
