Chapter 227
Ever since the priestess broke my bond with William, my connection with Victor has become more intense. I can sense his moods without being in the same room, and I constantly crave his kisses and his touch on my skin.
When he kissed me just moments ago, the sensations coursing through my body felt amazing. I didn’t want him to stop. I wanted him to show me what it was my body desperately desired.
Eager to be alone with him, I rushed upstairs to pack for our trip.
Going straight to my dresser, I began pulling out what I thought I would need. Jennifer had the rest of the day off, but I was sure I could manage to pack without her.
“Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and nightgowns; what else should I pack?” I asked the empty room as I tossed the items I mentioned in my bed.
“Swimming suits and a nice dress or two,” Diana said. “You’re going to the beach, and Victor will probably take you out to eat.”
“You’re right,” I said and tossed two swimsuits onto the pile. Then I went to my closet and chose three dresses, a skirt, and a silk top.
“Don’t forget shoes,” Diana suggested. “And a bag of hygiene products and makeup. You want to look your best.”
“At least I don’t need to shave my legs.” I gathered the items I needed from the bathroom and tucked them into a travel bag.
“Are you looking forward to time with Adam?” I asked Diana.
“Very much,” she replied. “I’m glad it’s settled that Victor will be your mate. You started to care for him before your first shift, and the mate bond was revealed. I could feel it.”
“That’s true, and my bond with Victor is growing stronger,” I said. “It’s making me feel these incredible sensations when he touches or kisses me that make me forget about everything else.”
I sat on the bed and put my head in my hands. “I want Victor to make me his, yet I’m scared.”
“There is nothing for you to fear,” Diana assured me.
I shrugged. “Are you sure?”
“Making love is nothing to be afraid of, Daisy,” Diana advised. “And it’s nothing to be ashamed of either. Victor is your true mate. Passion and the pleasure it brings is a gift from the gods.”
“But I don’t know what I’m supposed to do when it happens,” I confessed. “All I know is the basics of how sex works from a class at school.”
“Victor knows what to do, and he knows you’re a virgin,” Diana reminded me. “Let him guide you through your first experiences with passion.”
I held out a quivering hand. “I’m shaking just thinking about having sex with him.”
“That’s excitement and nervousness,” Diana said. “And you will soon see there was nothing to be nervous about.”
Diana was right. From the way making love was portrayed in books and movies, it had to be a wonderful thing. I wouldn’t let fear or nervousness stop me from enjoying my first experience with passion.
“What should I wear for the drive?” I asked while I chose two pairs of sandals and a pair of black pumps and put them on the bed with the clothes.
“The green sundress and sandals,” Diana replied. “You’ll be comfortable, and it looks great on you.”
I had to ask Benson for help finding a suitcase, and he insisted on having a maid pack the things I’d chosen to take with me.
When Victor arrived to pick me up, I was ready and waiting in the foyer.
“Text me to let me know you arrived safely and have a good time,” Alex said when I hugged him goodbye.
“I will,” I promised.
Victor put my suitcase and travel bag into his car and opened the passenger door for me.
“You look beautiful,” he said with a grin that made me blush.
“Don’t let fear or nerves ruin this experience,” Diana reminded me.
“Thanks.” I flashed Victor a smile and placed sunglasses over my eyes.
He slipped behind the wheel of the Lamborghini, and we started our drive to the beach.
“There’s a small cooler of cold drinks by your feet,” Victor said as he drove the car onto a highway ramp.
He expertly merged into traffic, and I handed him a frosty bottle of juice.
“How long will it take to get there?” I asked.
“Just a few hours,” he replied. “Wait until you see this place. It’s worth the drive.”
“I can’t wait,” I said and watched the scenery as we glided down the highway. The sun and wind on my face felt amazing.
A few hours later, the sun was high in the sky, and the air began to smell different. When Victor pulled onto an off-ramp, the scent grew stronger. It smelled salty and refreshing.
“What is that smell?” I asked
Victor turned right and pulled the car onto a two-lane road. “That’s the ocean. We are almost there.”
I had to force myself to hold still and not bounce and clap my hands. There was so much for me to look forward to when we arrived at our destination.
We passed a full parking lot with a boardwalk that led over sand dunes. The dunes were high enough that I couldn’t see the ocean, but the scent told me it was close.
A mile further, the road slanted upward, and Victor steered the car off the road and stopped in front of a metal gate.
“We’re here.” He pushed a button on a small box attached to his sun visor, and the gate rolled to one side.
He drove fifty feet toward a charming brown and cream house. A little larger than the lake cabin, it was three stories and sat on a rise above a white sand beach.
After springing from the car, I got my first glimpse of an ocean. It was magnificent. The waves and miles of open water made my breath catch in my throat.
Laughing and crying at the same time, I ran onto the house’s wrap-around porch and to the side facing the water and stood at the railing, watching the waves roll onto the beach.
Mesmerized by the sight in front of me, I watched the water until I felt Victor’s body press against my back, and his arms came around me.
“I knew you’d love it here,” he said.
I sensed his love for me and turned to face him. “You were right.” I stretched upward and pressed my lips against his.
As we kissed, his hands roamed down my back until they cupped my bottom and pulled me closer.
I gasped when the evidence of his passion for me pressed against my belly. The class in school hadn’t prepared me for how large Victor was down there. I began to grow nervous again.
Victor kissed me gently and took my hand. “Let me show you around. I already brought our luggage inside the house.”
After pushing open multi-panel glass doors, we stepped into the large living room. The floors were hardwood, and the furniture was covered in beige and brown fabric.
Next was a dining room in the same neutral colors. The table was heavy oak, and a cabinet in one corner held a set of delicate china.
The kitchen was painted a sunny yellow with everything necessary to make fabulous meals. I looked inside the refrigerator and was pleased to see it was full of food and drinks.
I had to take a deep breath before following Victor up a polished wooden staircase to the second floor. He walked into a room that faced the water and opened another glass door that opened onto a smaller deck.
“This is the master suite,” he said.
Looking around the room, I was pleased. The walls were beige, and the bedding was a light blue. That’s when I noticed Victor had placed all the luggage on the king-size bed that faced the deck.
We were going to share this room!
My stomach squirmed with nervousness for a moment until he put his arms around me.
“I’m still not going to rush you, sweetheart,” he promised. “I won’t let it happen until I’m sure you want me as much as I want you. I will move my things to another room if you like.”
Relaxing into his arms, I knew I wanted him to stay, and I refused to let fear ruin it.
“No.” I looked into his eyes. “Stay here with me. I trust you.”
My words made him groan. His hands began to caress my body as his lips claimed mine.
