Sofia Brown lay on the cold operating table, staring at the glaring surgical light.
The doctor held a long catheter and inserted it into her body.
"Inject the sperm."
"Slow down."
"Very good, it has reached the uterus and implanted smoothly."
After hearing the doctor's words, Sofia felt a mixture of emotions in her heart.
At eighteen years old, she never imagined that she would become a surrogate mother in the prime of her youth.
Her father was imprisoned, her mother was on the verge of death, and she needed money. She had no other choice.
Sofia was pushed out of the operating room by a nurse.
Soon after, a middle-aged woman in professional attire approached her.
"Miss Brown, the surgery went smoothly. We have arranged the best doctors for your mother's condition." Rachel Lee was the assistant of the employer's family. "According to the contract we signed before, once you successfully conceive, you must withdraw from school as soon as possible and devote yourself wholeheartedly to the pregnancy until the safe delivery of the child."
Sofia nodded with teary eyes.
She subconsciously touched her belly. Was this underdeveloped uterus really going to nurture a stranger's child?
And there was her first time.
Tears quietly flowed down her face, and happiness was no longer associated with her.
Sofia thought that after the last artificial insemination, she would have a successful delivery.

Sofia stiffened her body, lying on a strange bed, shivering.
The door creaked open.
In the dim light, a tall black figure stopped by her bed.
Her nervous heart almost jumped out of her chest.
The man was backlit, and she couldn't see his appearance at all.
He stood with his hands in his pockets, emitting a cold aura: "Are you an adult?"
"Ah?" Sofia was stunned for a moment, trembling as she spoke, "Um, I just turned eighteen."
He was silent for a moment.
"You're so young!" His voice sounded surprised, almost mocking.
Sofia thought he might change his mind.
But she had already taken half of the money, and the other half was still pending.
She was afraid he would suddenly change his mind, afraid that everything she had endured before would be for nothing.
Besides, she didn't care about going through more hardships...
She quickly said, "No, sir, I'm not young... The doctor said I'm healthy and can do it..."
Seeing that he didn't respond for a while, Sofia couldn't help but say again, "I'm really sorry about the last surgery... I was really careful... But I don't know why it failed... Sir, I'm an adult now, I'm not young anymore..."
If it wasn't for her mother, she wouldn't have lowered her voice in front of a stranger like this before.

He lifted the blanket, not giving her a chance to escape.
