Chapter 4 Liam
Liam POV
"Keep your legs centered,"
"I know what I'm doing,"
"You sure?" I landed a kick to the back of her knee, making her struggle.
"Cause in a real fight you'd be dead by now," I said with my fist so close from hitting her face.
"Ughh, I had you if you'd had just stop talking," she clenched her fists.
"Oh really," I smirked.
"Whatever, it's not like you're ever going to let join in on the real fights, so what's the point in all this," she shrugged.
"The point is you're my sister and therefore the one other heir to our family's throne, if something happens to me, you are next in line, that's why you need to be prepared if you ever have to fight."
"Whatever" she walked out of the training room.
"Get back here, Sarah," I shouted.
Ever since Sarah became a teenager, she's been so frustrating to deal with.
"Let her go, Liam," Josh patted my shoulder.
"She's being so unreasonable, she never lets me speak and tries to annoy the shit out of me all the time," I was really getting tired of all this.
"We were once like that too, man, annoying the shit out of our parents too,"
I didn't want to admit it but he was right, I was so fucking stubborn back then. I guess this is payback.
"Give her some time, she will come around, she probably just misses them."
My body stiffened.
I hated talking about my parents, mostly because I was angry at them
What were they doing anyways that they had gotten into an accident?
To be honest, most of that night never made sense to me, maybe because I was too in my head to think straight luckily for me, Josh's father was there to help me.
"So, the council meeting," I changed the subject. "Sliverlake pack is hosting right?"
"Yes, they are and you were right, I got some information that the pack has been seriously abusing their lower ranks but we just don't have proof yet." Josh clarified.
"Well we get proof then, we go there today and observe as best as we can, this must not go on." I insisted.
"Yes, Alpha" he turned and left.
Sliverlake pack had a good view, I could see the clear blue lake as we got closer too bad it was run by assholes.
I always hated council gatherings, I found it pointless, just Alphas with big egos coming together to pat each other shoulders.
"Ah, Liam, it's been too long," Alpha Derek beamed as he spoke.
"Can't say the same," I had no desire to pretend especially not to a power hungry Alpha. "If you would excuse me."
"But I haven't introduced—"
"Maybe some other time," I cut him off as I headed towards the elders' table.
I bowed as I finally got there.
The elders were the pillars of the werewolf civilization, they made the rules and controlled almost everything in our world.
"Liam Blackthorn, what brings you here," Elder Rowan smiled at me, I had always been fond of him after my parents passed away.
"I have something important to discuss with you all, it concerns this pack,"
"Hmm, then it will have to wait after the gathering,no need to rush," one of the elders spoke.
I wanted to keep pushing but Elder Rowan agreed with him.
"Yes, I believe it can wait Liam,
Enjoy the gathering, come, sit with us."
There isn't much to enjoy. I thought as I took my seat.
Everyone had finally settled down, talking and laughing as they were served.
But someone caught my eye, she had dark hair that was tied back, and strange eyes, I told myself it was probably because she was far away.
She had served different tables and was finally making her way to mine but then a blond haired girl got in her way and clashed with her.
It was obviously on purpose.
She screamed at the girl serving like it was her fault.
I looked around noticing that the pack members were all looking like something fun was going to happen, a young man had joined the scene.
I had to stop this.
"I believe she apologized," I looked at the blond girl.
"Alpha Liam, don't worry, I will take care of the situation." So this was the pack's Alpha, the sick bastards always looked like this.
"The girl is innocent," Not listening to whatever he was saying.
The blond girl was about to say something but I really needed her to stop talking cause I was already getting pissed.
"Don't you think it would be wise to shut up?" I glared at her.
The Alpha looked around and saw too many eyes were on us including the elders. He quickly apologized and left with the girl and the boy.
" Thank you, Alpha," I looked back at the girl, she looked so small and weak.
Only a fool won't see that she was being abused. She had bruises on her face for god's sake.
I reached for the tray that had fallen and she did the same. Our hands touched briefly but it was enough.
I felt the spark instantly.
Everything froze.
Then I pulled my hand back in shock.
How could this be?
I knew what that spark meant, but the witches said she had died during her birth so how?
I stood up still looking at her in shock, those purple eyes searching mine.
My wolf stirred in my chest impatiently, the words slipping from my mouth before I could control it.
"Mate"
"What—what did say?" She was looking at me like I had just gone mad and maybe I was because how was this even possible.
I had so many questions but before I could ask them, a guard burst through the door.
"We are under attack, rogues coming from the east and fast" he said as he tried to catch his breath.
"How many" Josh asked.
"I'm not sure but they are many, like a hundred,"
Everyone looked panicked now, I had snapped out of the trance I was in.
A hundred rogues, coming this way?
But why?
Rogues never gather in large groups, not even in five and now a hundred of them were coming out way.
I looked at the purple eyed girl, my mate, fear flowing through her eyes.
"Stay here, do not leave this room no matter what happens"
"Do I make myself clear," I asked.
"Y—yes" she muttered.
I didn't know a thing about her but I already wanted to protect her fiercely.
And so I would.
"Josh, gather all the warriors at the pack entrance," I instructed."If you don't want to die today by some rogues, I suggest we get out and fight them off" I spoke to the Alphas and betas in the room.
They all nodded their heads and stood behind me as I turned to leave the hall.
I looked back at my little mate, still staring at me with confusion.
I just found you, little mate, there's no way I'm dying now.
