Chapter 1 Elena
Elena's POV
"We have to go," The voice said. It sounded like a woman's voice.
"I know, I just want..." Another voice but she seemed sad.
"You will be safe here... I love you." She was looking at me but I couldn't see her face, it was all to blurry and then it all disappeared.
I groaned as I woke up, now feeling the effects of yesterday's beating.
Madam Rachael had asked me to do the dishes and I was, until Rose had come to torture me.
She's Kelvin's mate, who is the Alpha's son and therefore future Alpha. She had her way with me, and yesterday was no different.
She threw the dishes on the floor, causing them to break.
"More work for you, I guess." She smirked as she shoved me while leaving.
"What is this mess," Madam Rachael barked as she walked in.
"I—I didn't mean to do it." I muttered.
"You stupid little thing." She spat as she slapped me across the face.
"Give her to the guards. Let them give her a good beating, maybe next time you won't be so clumsy."
"No please—wait, I didn't mean to do it." I pleaded as I was dragged out of the kitchen.
At least it wasn't as bad as last time, I thought looking at my sides in the mirror, there were purple patches but it would fade out.
The cut on my cheek was fresh but it would heal eventually, I sighed as I held my necklace, the only thing my mom left me. I looked at myself in the mirror and allowed myself to have a small pity party.
I was an orphan, who got adopted by the Stone family, no one knew where I came from, only that Alpha Zack had found me at the pack's border that night and handed me over to the Stone family to care for.
My foster parents ignored me most of the time and at a point I was fine with it. I had endured all the hate and mistreatment I was getting from the other pack members, hoping that my wolf would finally free me from this torture once I turned eighteen.
But I wasn't so lucky, on my birthday I didn't phase at all. I had no wolf.
I was wolfless.
After that day, my parents gave me two options, live as a rogue or work in the pack house. I couldn't be a rogue, I would eventually be killed by other werewolves so I chose the next option and here I was.
I became the punching bag for the pack, I had no one except for my adopted sister, Ashley. She was a year older than me but she was always kind to me when we were still leaving as a family.
But that was two years ago, she's changed now, she barely talks to me or makes eye contact when she sees me but maybe it's better this way.
I washed my face and used my wet hands to pat my curly brown hair. I looked at myself in the mirror. I wasn't exactly the most beautiful girl, but I wasn't ugly, maybe my purple eyes had something to do with that but I knew I was lying to myself, these stupid eyes were the first thing that made me different and I was already weird enough.
I got dressed in my uniform, the only clothing I had besides my shorts and tank top.
I headed towards the pack's kitchen to start my daily routine.
"I heard that the Luna's necklace was stolen."
"Yeah, it's true, she's been looking for it all morning, I bet they'll get the thief soon."
I froze at the door as I heard Rose's voice.
She turned and smiled.
"Oh look who it is guys, the little slave has come to do her duty." She spat.
All I could do was glare at her.
"What are you looking at rat, got something to say." She smirked as she pushed me by the shoulders.
I hated that I always let her push me around. She was just two years older than I am. But I knew that if I ever spoke up, she'd make my life a living nightmare, not that it was in any way pleasant already.
"No." I muttered.
"Thought so, I hope you don't plan on attending the council gathering tomorrow, I mean our pack is hosting, we don't want our guests having to deal with a disease like you". She spat.
"But the Alpha said everyone could attend." I looked her in the eye.
She laughed in my face. "And you think that includes you."
"Well yes, I'm a member of this pack after all." I glared at her.
"Listen hear you weird eyed bitch". She pulled at my hair. "If you ever talk back to me again, I will beat you so badly you won't be able to walk. Understood?"
She pulled harder when I didn't reply. "Did you hear me."
"Yes."
"Better." She pushed me to the ground and laughed.
She turned around and left with her friends, everyone else acting like they didn't see anything.
I got up, my eyes burning but I refused to cry, not in front of anyone, they'd only laugh at me.
I carried myself to the sink and began my chores.
"Just my everyday life." I thought.
"Elena Stone" I turned around to see a guard glaring at me.
"Y—yes?" I said as fear washed over my body.
"Luna Chrysta wants to see you immediately."
"Okay" I tried to keep my voice from cracking.
I was in trouble, I knew it. But for what, I had
done everything right.
Oh goddess please help me.
