Chapter 6 A vibrator experience

Nyx's p.o.v

I knocked lightly on the door, shivering slightly as the evening air fanned my wet face. I heard shuffling from inside the door, then I heard the door creak just a little. I knew she was checking the peephole. Shortly after, the door opened widely. Lena's face appeared, her hair wrapped in a towel, likewise her body. She grinned at me.

“Nyxxx,” she squealed and my heart warmed at the level of excitement she displayed just by seeing me at her doorstep unannounced. She's the only one who makes me feel included and loved.

I mean Kent tried but his appearance seemed to outweigh it.

Her smile faltered as she peered at my face, she stepped aside and I walked into the warm cozy apartment. Painted in pure pink. Her couch is the same color, curtains and anything else you can think of. Just like a pink shrine.

“Are you okay,” she placed her hand on my shoulder and guided me to the couch. I took a deep breath. There was no need hiding anything from her, I always come to her when the pressure at home gets overwhelming.

But this is one rare encounter. I never get bullied at home. Never.

“Nyx?” She asked. Her attention focused on my face.

I wiped at my now dry cheek, swallowing the lumps in my throat. I met her gaze. “I…I was,” I hiccuped.

“Calm down girl, calm.” She urged.

I nodded. “I was bullied,” I finally said.

She arched her brow, anger creeping into her eyes. “By whom? There's no work today Nyx and I know you never go out, so who? Where? How?” she added sternly.

“In my house,” I said and she let out a gasp. But I continued. “My step father's assistant, she said, that they never appear in public with me.” I broke down crying once again. The words sting more than they should. Maybe because it was the bitter truth.

“That bitch…the same one you caught riding Ethan's cock?” I nodded. She let out a harsh breath. “Wait here, I'll get dressed now then we go back,”

I panicked immediately, grabbing her wrist before she could turn toward her room.

“No, Lena, please,” I whispered, my voice trembling as I held on tighter. “Don’t go. I don’t want any trouble. I just… I just needed to be here. That’s all.”

She blinked at me, her anger softening just a little, but not enough.

“Nyx…”

“And Travis chased them away,” I added quickly, the words tumbling out in a rush. “He came in and told them off. So… it’s fine. Just… please don’t go back there. Not tonight.”

Her shoulders slowly dropped from their tense, fight-ready height.

She sighed, then tugged me forward into a warm, enveloping hug, one of those Lena hugs that felt like cotton candy and sunshine and safety.

“Nyx,” she murmured into my hair, “you’re a beautiful girl. And you’ve got a killer body. That’s why she’s trying to tear you down. People like her, they hate what they can’t be.”

I felt my cheeks warm as a small smile crept up. Lena always knew exactly where to place her words so they hit the bruises directly, healing instead of hurting.

“Thank you,” I breathed, letting myself melt a little.

She pulled back with a soft cluck of her tongue. “Alright, enough sadness. Question number one: are you hungry? Because I ordered takeout.”

As if on cue, my stomach growled loudly straight-up betraying me.

Her eyes lit up with amusement. “I’ll take that as a yes. Come on.”

I followed her into the kitchen, the warm pink glow making everything feel softer. She had two white containers set on the counter, steam still drifting lazily from the edges.

“I got mac and cheese,” she said, popping one open. “I know it’s not your favorite, but it’s comfort food, and right now you need comfort.”

She scooped a generous serving into a bowl, then handed me a plate.

I wrapped my fingers around it, the warmth seeping into my palms, grounding me.

Honestly… Mac and cheese sounded perfect.

We began to eat in silence, well not for long because she cleared her throat, rather dramatically that I raised my head from my plate. She was staring at me with narrowed eyes.

“What?” I asked, I felt a small smile creeping into my cheek. I know that look. A crazy question was behind it.

“Who's Travis?” She asked and my heart stilled, heat rushed up to my face. Shame clouded my vision.

Why was she asking of Travis?

Does she know what me and my uncle did?

Does she…

“Nyx, who is he?” She asked again, tearing me away from my thoughts.

“Umm…why are you asking about Travis?” I had to force my tone to stay calm.

She rolled her eyes “Duh girl you mentioned a Travis sent your bully away. So who is he?”

I let out a sigh of relief, too loud I had forgotten she was watching.

What the fuck is wrong with you Nyx? Of course she doesn't know Travis.

Guilt is worse than theft.

Jesus. I thought she'd found me out…

“Nyx…” she barked out my name, jolting me out of my thoughts. I looked at her and she arched her brow, leaning on the counter.

“Oh Travis…He's my step uncle.” I said, twirling my fork in the food.

“Ethan's brother?” She asked and I nodded.

“Hmmm,” she said.

Silence.

Her eyes narrowed immediately.

“Why are your cheeks red?”

I choked literally, choked on my mac and cheese.

Lena jumped, grabbing the nearest bottle of water and shoving it into my hand. “Jesus, Nyx! Breathe!”

I gulped the water down, my eyes watering as I coughed.

Great. Just great. If embarrassment were a sport, I’d be an Olympic gold medalist.

When I finally caught my breath, she folded her arms, staring at me like a detective who just found the perfect crack in my alibi.

“Okay… now start talking,” she said slowly. “Why did your face go tomato mode the moment I said his name?”

My whole body stiffened.

No. No no no.

Abort mission. Abort.

Think, Nyx, think.

I offered the fakest laugh known to mankind. “Tomato mode? That’s… that’s just me choking, Lena. Obviously.” I waved my hand dramatically, almost dropping my fork. “I choke, I blush. Reflex. Science.”

She blinked at me.

Unamused.

Completely unconvinced.

I needed a distraction now before she sniffed her way straight into the truth like the terrifying bloodhound she is.

“Oh!” I shot up suddenly, “I have a question,”

She frowned. “What question?”

I tried to wrack my brain of what to say. What would interest her enough to drop it.

Good. I found one.

I neutralized my face as I asked. This question was gonna be more of a help to me than I would admit to myself.

“What do you make of when a girl gets wet immediately she sees or gets touched by a man?” Her face lightened up as she pushed up from where she was leaning. She stopped a few feet away from me. I hold her gaze.

“It simply means she got a big crush on him and her pussy is telling her a story about it.” She winked at me and I felt heat rushed to my cheek. I shouldn't have asked this. It's a confirmation I definitely didn't need.

“Do you have a crush on someone Nyx.”

I quickly shook my head. Then I dropped my fork.

“What? Finally you have a crush…” she squealed and grabbed my shoulder.

“I don't…” I try to shake her off.

Staying here is only aggravating me more. I need to go.

“I just remembered, I need to pick up a package for Mom,” I lied. She scoffed, seeing through the lie. But she didn't argue it surprisingly.

“Okay you can go. But I have something for you,”

I furrowed my brow in confusion. Something for me?

“For me?” I asked and she nodded.

“A gift you will need now. Wait here.” she said cheekily and made a dash for her room, returning a minute later with a bag.

“Take it,” she handed it to me.

I collected it, then I tried to peer at it but she stopped me. “Use it whenever you feel like that again. Well until you let your crush in.”

“I…” I tried to tell her I didn't have a crush but she shushed me.

“Just take it. Promise me you will use it,”

“I don't even know what's inside there, how will I know how to use it?”

“It's got a manual In there, it will guide you. Now go get your mom's package.” s

he said that last part in an exaggerated tone and I smiled at her.

Then I walked out of her house, boarded a taxi. My curiosity only heightened by each building we passed.
