Chapter 5 My Name Is Alpha Amelia, Not Luna

As we walked down the stairs the next morning for breakfast, the servants lined up, heads bowed as they greeted us.

Hans wanted to hold my hand, but I refused to let him because of what had happened the night before.

Last night, we agreed that Hans would sleep on the sofa, while I would take over the bed to avoid anything that would occur.

Unfortunately, it wasn't long before I felt a soft hand, caressing my bare arm. I would have given in because the touch was so intense that it sent a heat wave floating down my lower body.

Fortunately, I opened my eyes and found Hans, peacefully sleeping beside me, but his fingers were gently caressing my arm.

I pulled his hand away, waking him up from sleep.

Furiously, I asked him what brought him to the bed, and he told me he had never slept on a sofa in his life before.

He said; the sofa was burning his skin as if he were lying on a hot flame.

Well, he was right, and I felt a little guilty for suggesting he sleep on the sofa. Hans is an Alpha, not a commoner. He has enjoyed a leisurely life since he was a pup.

So, I had to let him sleep on the bed at night, but with four pillows dividing the bed into two. And a warning for him not to touch me.

“The elders are in the hall, waiting for you, Luna Amelia,”

A servant announced as soon as we got to the dining table.

But Luna Amelia?

Anyway, they will soon be taught how to address me properly.

As we headed to the meeting hall, our shoes clicked on the tiles, the sound echoing in the empty hallway.

Alpha Hans tried engaging me in a conversation, but my mind was only on the meeting.

What could they be talking about? The elders have no say in my affairs now, and they have no right to stop me from ascending to that position.

They've done that in the past, standing in my way of seeking vengeance for my beloved father’s death.

And now that I have gotten married to an Alpha the way they wanted it, I can't allow them to walk over me.

They don't own me, and they can no longer decide for me what to do with my life.

Those murderers must pay dearly for the life of a mighty Alpha they took, killing his Luna alongside, and turning me into an orphan when I needed my parents the most.

“Luna Amelia? Alpha Hans?”

The Beta, alongside the elders all stood on their feet and bowed their heads.

“Point of correction, it is Alpha Amelia,”

Hans said, taking a seat on the chairs lined up by the side of the table, where some of the elders sat.

“Thank you, mate,”

I winked at him, beaming in delight. Hans surely knows how to handle these things, because his words only made the elders more bitter.

“Alpha Hans, we do not allow female children to become an Alpha in this Pack, kindly retract your word.”

Pfft.

This Beta is crossing the line, and he will be the first person I remove from his position if he keeps objecting to my status.

“Are you challenging my authority, Beta Casper?”

He bowed his head apologetically.

“I dare not, Alpha Hans, forgive my manners.”

He gently lifted his head, glanced at me, and sighed deeply.

“Alpha Hans, you are sitting where Luna is presumed to sit, your chair is over there.”

He pointed at the magnificent wolf throne standing at the edge of the table, adorned with gold and diamond pieces.

That used to be the throne my father always sat on during meetings, and I always told him I would one day sit on it as an Alpha.

Dad would laugh it out, but he never tried to shut me up or tell me I was never going to become an Alpha.

Hans got up, and to everyone’s astonishment, he held my hand and walked me over to the chair.

Then he made me sit down, facing the shocked elders whose jaws had dropped and whose eyes were bulging out.

“She is the Alpha, and I am her Luna. So, the meeting can start.”

I raised my shoulders high, my mind surging with excitement.

My dream has finally come true.

“From today on…”

I cut Hans short, taking over what he wanted to say. He was crossing the line, doing the talking alone while I sat there like someone who needed others to speak for her.

When the elders weren't looking at me, I rolled my eyes at Hans, signaling him with my gaze to shut up.

“From today onward, everyone must address me as Alpha Amelia. And if there is anyone in objection to my position, speak now so I will know the traitor among us.”

I said in an authoritative tone, my voice firm and confident.

I looked at them one after the other, but none of them said a word, then with full morale, I got up, chin up, and gave my first command.

“From today, the Valtorium Pack will cease to partner with us.”

“What!”

The elders exclaimed, eyes widening in shock.

“Luna Amelia? I mean, Alpha Amelia, you can't do that,”

One of the elders said, getting up from the chair.

“Yes, do not do that. The Valtorium Pack has been running business with us for the past twenty years and we haven't had any problem with them.

Even when he was alive, Alpha Brook didn't encounter any difficulty with them. That Pack has the highest share in this Pack, and withdrawing them from our business is just like destroying this Pack.”

They do have the highest share in our Pack, but they also breed the highest sin that will never be forgiven.

And as long as I rule this Pack, the Valtorium, and other Packs that would follow will never engage in business with us again.

“That is my final order, and I want the contract termination to be sent to my office in two hours!”
