Chapter 4 Becoming The First Female Alpha

Since the news of my marriage to Alpha Hans has already spread across the Lunkskye Pack, Hans and I received glaring stares from the Pack wolves when we arrived.

I know why,

Hams has already raised their expectations that he was a good person, and was the true Alpha they needed for the Pack.

And now that Hans has come into the light, stealing his brother’s spotlight, they are not ready to accept him.

However, I have no problem with that since he wouldn't even be the Alpha, I will.

The cars drove inside the Packhouse, a mansion which shone in the bright moon.

The glasses that run from the high end of the building, down to the lower part, showed the reflection of the moon, and the stars in the clear sky.

Hans first got out, then extended his hand to me.

As I stepped out of the car, the servants all lowered their heads, welcoming me back to the Pack and this time, not their usual Miss Amelia, but their Pack leader.

“Welcome back, Luna Amelia,”

They chanted, their voices echoing like a howl.

Luna?

More like an Alpha.

“Luna Amelia?”

The Beta, my late Dad’s most trusted person, stepped forward, his face full of disdain towards Hans.

“Why did you do that? We've all looked forward to seeing you and Alpha Hams get married. What you did was a betrayal of the most loyal person ever,”

Well, it isn't his fault.

None of them knows who Hams really is.

Even though he spoke in a low tone, I caught some servants whispering to each other.

And all the things they said were as clear as a crystal in my ear because my wolf, Amy, has the ability to hear clearly.

I veered around, glaring at them coldly, and they instantly shut up and lowered their heads.

“Beta Casper, I chose what is best for me, not what people want, okay?”

He shook his head in disappointment, constantly stealing a glance at Hans who only stood there, admiring the great architecture of the Packhouse.

“But, Luna Amelia, you should choose what is best for the Pack, not exactly what you want,”

He sighed, held my arm, and took me to a corner.

“We’ve all seen the capabilities of Alpha Hams, but…”

He glanced at Hans, shaking his head.

“Everyone knows Hans is a slacker. Hams does a lot of things, carrying their Pack on his shoulder alone, but Hans stays idle all the time, probably fantasizing about the things he would never do.”

Gosh!

I know all that, but I have my plan.

Hans can continue having his imagination all the time while I do what I want with my Pack.

“Beta Casper, I think you are meddling in the affairs that don't concern you,”

He lifted an eyebrow, his face wrinkling in confusion.

“Alpha Hans is my husband, the mate I chose. You ought to respect him if,”

Hans interrupted me by wrapping his hand around my waist.

“What are you discussing with my Luna, Beta Casper?”

He looked at Hans who was smiling, while stroking my hair gently.

“We…”

“He was discussing with me how to properly welcome you,”

I interrupted, scowling at the Beta.

“Oh, that isn't necessary,”

Hans chuckled softly.

“You know, my Luna can handle all the things in the Pack, I don't need to meddle in her affairs.”

Wonderful, Hans, wonderful?

He is following the contract suitably.

“That is impossible, Alpha Hans. Luna Amelia can only handle some things which Luna can do, not…”

“My Luna will rule this Pack as the Alpha, and I don't need anyone’s opinion over this!”

His voice was so audible that a whisper broke out again,

And what bewildered me was the way he called me his Luna, it sounded so personal.

Anyway, he has already started the fire, and before the day breaks, the news will have spread into the Pack.

“We must call the elders for an urgent meeting first thing tomorrow morning,”

I heard one of the elders say to the others as Hans and I went inside the building.

Now inside the room which used to be my parents, my mind flickered back to the old times when we would sit in the room, chatting happily until I fell asleep.

Then Dad would carry me in his great, masculine arms and take me back to my room.

How I missed those moments enormously. Especially the times we would transform into wolves and race around the house under the full moon.

Sighs.

We really had a great time together, and I am glad I witnessed all that love before they died.

“Are you alright?”

Hans’ soft finger on my skin broke me out of my reverie.

I stepped away from our family picture on the wall above the sofa, wiping the tears in my eyes.

Hans noticed that,

He followed me to the bed, held my hand, and smiled, his handsome face lit up with a luminous glow, radiated by the soft light inside the room.

“Do not grieve, Amelia, Alphas are known for their formidable personality,”

Yeah, true. My father was a powerful Alpha who never let grief overpower him.

And I want to follow in his footsteps, to rule the Pack just like my father did, or better still, more than he did.

Hans gently swept the strand of hair back behind my ear.

No lies, he is so loving, and when he lowered his head and set his face in front of mine, my heart fluttered.

His blue eyes were so beautiful, prettier than those of Hams.

And I swear, I saw a flash of his wolf inside his eyes,

Amy must have seen it too because she started jumping in my mind.

I had to pull Hans away from me to avoid any story that touches the heart.

If we continue like this, this dude would make me break the rules stipulated in the contract.

“Stay away from me when we are alone!”

I pouted, walking away from him.
