I, as the Luna of Brown Iris Pack, never imagined that my pack would be a host of the yearly party. The idea ran through my mind since the pack that I took care of was not a top-tier one like the Apollo Pack. As I got ready with a dark blue denim dress, I went down the stairs with white high heels. Subsequently, I heard the voice of the beta of the pack, Blake, "Good morning, my Luna. Here are the details that we have got for the yearly party."

"Morning too, Blake. Thanks for delivering the list," I replied with a gentle smile as my grey eyes observed the stuff written on the paper.

Observing for a while, I said, "I guess we need more stocks for wines and chairs. I hear that the witches will also attend the party. Even, we need some of them to help the front guards if there is a danger coming."

"All right. Later, I'll update the info on the event service." Blake nodded and said.

"Okay. And then, I think we need .." I delayed the words when I saw that the decoration needed to improve. "More flowers near the throne place where I sit next to Alpha Xavier," I continued resolutely.

With the words uttered, Beta Blake stared at me with a wondering look in his brown eyes and asked, "Didn't Alpha Xavier tell you that the decoration near the throne will only be the brown curtain?"

"No, he didn't. Even, since last night, I can't contact him through the mind-link." I clarified with a shocked expression.

At the same moment, my wolf, Emma, suggested, "You must look for him soon, Margie. I believe that he is not busy with this yearly party thing. What a lazy Alpha!"

Then, I replied to Emma, "I know he lacks responsibility, but you can't always judge him as a bad person, Em."

"I bet for it!" Emma kept believing by whispering in my mind.

At that point, Blake said, "I think it is better to discuss the decoration for the throne with Alpha Xavier to avoid misunderstanding, my Luna."

"Well, let me contact him through mind-link once again," I said.

As I focused on contacting Xavier, I felt that he was unreachable even though I called his name a few times or I stated my reasons to him. There were no replies from him. It was like he was far away from this palace. It was very unusual for him to be like this. Then, I remarked, "He doesn't reply to me seriously. I need to meet him!"

Blake just frowned and referred, "If I'm not mistaken, I saw him at the horse stable. He was chatting with Aiden about horse racing."

"Okay, Blake. Thanks for the information." I nodded whenever I started walking and left the palace.

During the time that my high heels touched the ground and the fresh morning air enters my nostrils, my grey eyes look around the yard where some people walked and passed through. Even, a few of them greeted and smiled at me politely. However, my mind was full of the alpha and why he can't be called. Was he ignoring my connection?

Whenever I walked through the yard and almost left the castle area, I heard the husky familiar voice which was owned by the stable master, Aiden. "Good Morning, Luna Margareth. It seems that you are looking up for someone." He uttered.

"Um, yeah. I'm looking for Alpha Xavier. Didn't you talk with him a few minutes ago?" I retorted honestly.

"Yes, I was, and he said that he was quite stressed regarding the yearly party preparation," Aiden said with his irresolute gaze.

"All right. I think I know where he is now. Thank you for the assistance," I replied immediately while he walked passed through.

"My pleasure, Luna Margareth," Aiden waved his right hand as he walked further.

With the golf cart ridden by a driver, I sat with uneasy thoughts running in my mind. It was caused by Xavier being unable to be reached through mind-link. It was not like the usual thing for me whenever I tried to reach him, but it failed. Then, a couple of minutes forward, the cart stopped, and I stepped on the stony grounds, which was a part of the pathway to Aventia Castle.

Once, I unlocked the door with the backup key that I always carried, I entered the castle and looked for the tall and handsome figure. However, there was none of his existence on the first floor. As my heels tapped on the floors gradually, I then checked if he was in the reading room. Nonetheless, whenever the door was opened, he was not there. Being worried and inquisitive at the same time, I kept looking for him while stepping on the stairs that led me to the second floor.

"What makes you disappear all of a sudden?? I truly depend on your help in this annual party, Xavier." I said in my mind while doing mind-link, but it failed. He was seriously unreachable.

While I walked around the hall where the guest rooms were located, I heard the noises from one of them. I directly walked towards the middle door and I heard a woman's voice. "Uh, ehm, yessh, Xa-vier. Spank meh!" I blinked a bit when I heard the name of my beloved Alpha mentioned in the moans.

At this time, I realized something that I had never imagined before. The Alpha whom I cherished the most had a mistress. He, who had a strong will to marry me from the start, played with fire. The tears also ran down my eyes since I felt hurt and disappointed all at once. However, after I brushed away the tears, I gathered my bravery to open the door that wasn't locked coincidentally.

Once the wooden door was opened, the view of the steamy love-making was seen clearly. Again, my tears came out as I glanced towards the man who surprisingly stared at me and tried to stop his penetrating activity. "M-Margie?! I-I.." He stuttered.

"Am I bothering your business?? I’m sorry, then." I started as I wiped the tears on my tiny face. As the tears streamed down my face, my heart was shattered into pieces. My expectation about him being loyal and caring to me was vanished immediately. Moreover, I began to doubt about myself and love towards him. Wasn’t I loyal enough to him? Weren’t the deeds I do to comfort him more than enough? Was I worthless to be loved genuinely?
