Chapter 4 Who Was the Man from Four Years Ago

"Alright, I'll marry you. If there ever comes a day when you want out, no worries, I'll let you go."

Xandra knew there had to be some hidden agenda behind Raymond's proposal.

This marriage was bound to be short-lived.

And right now, she needed money.

It was simply a mutual arrangement.

Frederick raised an eyebrow, not paying much attention to her words, and glanced at his watch.

"Got your documents? Let's head to City Hall and get this marriage thing sorted."

So fast!

Xandra thought about her documents; most of her stuff was still at Lucius' place.

"My documents aren't with me. I need to go somewhere first."

"Your ex-fiancé's place?" he asked.

"How do you know?"

"Your kids told me. They said you got kicked out."

Xandra felt a bit embarrassed.

She didn't say anything else.

As she turned around, she saw her two daughters eavesdropping at the door.

Their big eyes were fixed on her, faces full of excitement.

"Mommy, you agreed to marry Mr. Flores?"

Xandra gently patted their heads and responded softly.

"That's great! We have a new daddy!"

Charles, who was in the room, watched his sisters' excitement and felt a surge of hope.

He wished their new stepfather would protect their mommy and not let her be bullied again.

The group left the hotel, and Xandra was surprised to see Frederick leading them to a Bentley Mulsanne.

"Is this your car?"

Frederick paused as he opened the door, "No, it belongs to my boss."

Xandra nodded. She figured as much; this car must cost at least a million dollars.

How could a mere assistant afford such a luxury car?

They got into the car, and Frederick drove them to Lucius' mansion.

Seeing the familiar surroundings, Xandra tried to suppress all her emotions and opened the car door.

"Please wait for me."

Frederick nodded, his handsome face indifferent.

Charles frowned, "Mr. Flores, are you really letting my mommy go in alone? You promised to protect her."

Elizabeth chimed in, "Mr. Flores, there are bad people inside!"

Margaret added, "Mr. Flores, the bad people might hurt mommy!"

Frederick remained silent.

So, he, the president of the Russell Group, not only had to play chauffeur but also had to act as their mommy's bodyguard!

Inside the mansion.

Lucius hadn't left yet. Seeing Xandra again, his expression turned cold.

"What are you doing here?"

"Don't worry, I'm just here to take what's mine."

Xandra went upstairs without expression, entered the master bedroom, and packed all her belongings.

Lucius watched her slender figure, feeling a bit dazed.

It wasn't that he hadn't loved her.

But he couldn't accept that she had children with another man!

"Xandra, who was the man from four years ago?"

Xandra paused in her packing, not even looking up.

"It's none of your business."

She had lost a chunk of her memory.

Her parents had told her that four years ago, she said she was going to meet someone important.

But when she returned, she was pregnant.

What happened in between, she had no memory of.

"None of my business?"

Lucius grabbed Xandra's hand, furious, "Xandra, you really are a cheat. Four years ago, you were dating me while messing around with some random guy. What do you take me for?"

Xandra shook his hand off.

"Lucius, I'm glad I never truly loved you. If it weren't for you saving me back then, I wouldn't have chosen to be with you. A man as ungrateful as you doesn't deserve me!"

So she was with him only because he had saved her?

If he hadn't saved her, she wouldn't have wanted him?

Lucius' gaze flickered, seeing Xandra's cold expression, devoid of the usual gentleness. A trace of anger flashed in his eyes.

"Xandra, at this point, you're just a fallen socialite. Do you need me to remind you that your mother is still in the hospital, and her monthly treatment costs are two thousand dollars?"

Xandra continued packing, her eyes downcast and silent.

"How about this, considering our past, why not become my mistress? I'll cover your mother's treatment costs."

Xandra realized she had never truly understood Lucius.

The once gentle and elegant Lucius was actually so despicable?

Xandra's slender fingers reached into her pocket, her beautiful eyes fixed on him.

"You really want me to be your mistress? Aren't you afraid Vivian will find out?"

Lucius approached her, wrapping an arm around her waist, his tone softening.

"As long as you don't say anything, and I don't say anything, how would Vivi know?"

Xandra suppressed her disgust, pretending to be aggrieved.

"Lucius, do you love me more, or Vivian more?"

Lucius looked at her delicate face, regretting not making a move on her in the past four years.

"Of course, I love you more."

Men's words are always deceitful!

Tears welled up in Xandra's eyes.

"If you love me more, why did you try to send me to your client's bed?"

A woman's tears are like smoke bombs, always able to confuse men.

Lucius softened, reaching out to wipe her tears.

"I'm sorry, I lost my head for a moment. Don't worry, as long as you're with me, I'll cherish you and never send you to another man again."

As he spoke, he grabbed Xandra's chin, ready to kiss her.

Xandra's expression turned cold, and she kneed him in his most vulnerable spot.

Lucius let out a howl, bending over in pain, his face contorting.

"Xandra!"

"Lucius, you disgust me! You want me to be your mistress? Dream on!"

"Xandra, you're asking for it!"

Lucius, furious, raised his hand to hit her.

But just as his hand went up, his wrist was grabbed and he was thrown against the wall.

Lucius slid down the wall, his face twisted in pain.

He clutched his chest, standing up to face Frederick's sharp gaze, shrinking back.

"Who are you!"

"My woman, and you dare touch her?"

Frederick's gaze was as cold as ice.

Lucius froze, looking at Xandra.

"Xandra, who is he?"

"You don't know? Wasn't it you who sent me to his bed last night?"

Xandra clenched her fists, smiling coldly.

Recalling the conversation between Lucius and Vivian this morning, she guessed there had been a mix-up.

This Raymond wasn't some old man.

Lucius' face changed.

He had clearly sent Xandra to the Russell Group's executive Logan, a balding man in his fifties.

How did he turn into a young, handsome guy?

"Got your documents?" Frederick asked, his face indifferent.

Xandra found her household registration book, "Got it."

"Then let's go."

"Okay."

"Wait!" Lucius stared at Xandra's documents, "What are you doing with those?"

Xandra glanced at him, then linked her arm with Frederick's.

"Lucius, thanks for finding me a husband. Last night, Ray and I were very satisfied with each other, so we've decided to go to City Hall and get married right away."

What!

She was going to marry this man!

Lucius looked at Frederick in disbelief.

"She has three kids with unknown fathers, and you don't mind?"
