Chapter 3: Nothing But Money and Sex

Jacintha had been his sugar baby for two whole years, yet to this day Raphael still did not know what she liked to eat or who her family members were. It was not that he could not find out. He simply did not want to know.

If it had been anyone else, he would not have kept them by his side for more than a month. But for some reason, Jacintha was different. He had tried to leave her several times, yet each time something pulled him back. As if it was impossible to truly cut her off.

Raphael thought that perhaps he was simply affected by that face.

Seeing Jacintha remain silent, Raphael sneered. “What, are you mute now? Hmph. Do not think that just because you look like her, I will like you. Who do you think you are? No matter how similar you are to her, you cannot compare to even one of her fingers.”

“Mr. Wulfhart, I…” Jacintha stammered. Her face flushed bright red, as if she had just been slapped. Her head buzzed, and her voice trembled until it nearly disappeared.

The “her” Raphael referred to was a woman who bore a striking resemblance to Jacintha, and she was also the woman Raphael truly loved. The truth was that Jacintha had been allowed to become Raphael’s sugar baby solely because her face looked too much like that woman.

Two years ago, Jacintha had been driven into a corner again and needed a large sum of money to pay off loan sharks. That was why she decided to approach the ruler of Wulfhart, seeking a chance to serve him and become his woman. She thought that even the pocket money he casually tossed her would be enough to get her through her hardship.

In fact, she was still deeply haunted by the first night she spent in Wulfhart. She was not even sure who it was that had sex with her, because the growls and the sensations that person brought her were nothing like those of a normal human. In the years that followed, she was constantly plagued by nightmares and suffered severe psychological trauma. Yet for the sake of paying off her debts and supporting Jack and Mira, she could only force herself to set aside her own pain.

At that time, she was not sure Raphael would even notice her. She thought she looked completely unremarkable. Yet the moment he saw her, his blue eyes widened, his pupils dilated, and almost immediately after that, he lunged at her and pinned her to the floor.

The wild possessiveness in his gaze frightened her, yet at the same time it stirred something deep in her heart. His blue eyes were like the calm depths of the ocean, soothing the unease in her mind, while his silver hair gave his sharp, angular features an air of mystery and nobility.

Raphael’s appearance completely overwhelmed Jacintha, making her feel as if she had fallen in love with this man at first sight.

Just as Jacintha thought Raphael was about to kiss her, he suddenly turned away and left. After that, she officially became his sugar baby. It was only much later that Jacintha learned the reason Raphael had been so strangely agitated was because her face looked too much like the woman he loved, Sharon Rosenthal, a famous actress.

“Get out of the car now!” Raphael’s shout snapped Jacintha back to reality.

Jacintha froze, her face draining of color as she stared at Raphael in disbelief. She could not believe he was throwing her out of the car in the middle of such heavy rain.

Seeing her stand there in a daze, Raphael lost his patience and barked, “Don’t make me say it again!”

His voice was icy and filled with hatred, jolting Jacintha back to her senses. Trembling, she reached out to open the car door in panic. Cold rain slammed straight into her face.

The moment Jacintha stepped onto the soaking wet road, the car sped off. The tires splashed muddy water all over her, leaving her shoes and dress stained. On the deserted road, there were only two dim streetlights, with nowhere she could take shelter from the rain.

Jacintha stood alone in the downpour, quickly drenched from head to toe. Her clothes clung to her body, and even though it was summer, she shivered uncontrollably. Her face was deathly pale, her lips turning purple from the cold.

Watching Raphael’s car disappear into the distance, Jacintha suddenly felt painfully miserable and utterly foolish. She should never have confessed her feelings to Raphael.

Someone who had once sold her body like her had no right to speak of love to Raphael. To him, being liked by someone like her was probably nothing but an insult.

Between a sugar baby and a sugar daddy, there should only ever be talk of money, never of love. That was the most basic rule of such a transaction.

Normally, she had always hidden her love for Raphael with great care and had never let even a trace of it show in front of him, afraid that he would look down on her. Yet tonight, she failed to keep her emotions under control.

Perhaps it was because she had seen that Raphael was in a bad mood today after Sharon had rejected his intimacy. Jacintha only wanted to say a few words to comfort him, but in the end she had exposed the love she had buried deep in her heart.

Now Raphael despised her. That was the consequence she had brought upon herself, all because she had failed to understand her own place.

Raphael was a rich and powerful man. He came from an elite family, stood at the top of the entertainment empire, and his personal value was immeasurable. Countless people in the entertainment industry longed to be fucked by him and still never got the chance.

Jacintha thought that being by Raphael’s side for two whole years had already been an incredible stroke of luck. So why had she dared to dream of things that were never meant to belong to her?

She laughed at herself, the corners of her lips lifting faintly. Her eyes burned, and everything before her looked blurred, as if covered by a thin layer of mist. She did not know whether it was rain or tears anymore.

It was close to midnight when Jacintha finally made it home. The moment she opened the door, she froze in horror at the sight of the living room in complete chaos. Shards of glass were scattered all over the floor, and the coffee table, sofa, television, and other furniture looked as if someone had smashed them to pieces.

Jacintha’s heart tightened. She thought it must have been the loan sharks again.

"Mommy!" Her five year old son, Jack, came running over and wrapped his arms tightly around her legs. "Those bad people came to our house again just now! I really hate them!"

The little boy was so angry that his small face had turned red. Jacintha felt both guilty and heartbroken. "I’m sorry. I came home late and scared you."

Jack pursed his lips, his eyes reddening as he looked up at Jacintha with a hurt expression. "Mommy, those bad people stepped on my favorite little airplane and broke it…"

"Then how about we go buy a new one tomorrow? Or I can see if I can fix it for you, okay?" Jacintha said gently, trying to comfort him.

The boy stopped crying and broke into a smile. "Okay! Please help me fix the airplane!"

Jack had delicate features, fair and smooth skin, big round eyes with blue pupils, and soft short red hair that fell over his forehead. When he smiled, he looked especially adorable.

Looking at Jack’s face, Jacintha fell into a brief daze. She thought to herself, They really are father and son. The older Jack gets, the more he looks like Raphael.

And now, Jacintha could finally be sure that the man who had had sex with her six years ago, the man who had taken her virginity, was Raphael.
