Chapter 16
Waking up I found myself laying in a tent. How the hell did I get here?
Shifting over, I crawl outside, only to find wolves, two wolves fighting very close to this tent I’m in. Even though it was dark, the moonlight helped me see them clearly.
The same black one from before is there fighting with a different one than before. Their roars and snarls reverberate throughout the forest.
I scramble back inside, terrified, trying to find any protection I can use against those beasts outside. Am I seriously going to die like this?
I freeze, straining to hear the wolves. Why can’t I hear them anymore? They were so loud before that I could hear each snap of their jaw as they squared off against each other.
For there to suddenly be nothing but silence made everything a lot worse.
Abruptly the tent is pulled open and overwhelming dread fills me. Grabbing the nearest thing I can , I smash it into the intruder's head.
Only to realize two things in quick succession. One, I grabbed a pair of men's boxers.
Two, the “intruder” I just hit with said boxers is Draven, who now has them on his face. Oh crap.
Draven pulls the garment from his face and stares at me before holding the tent open for me. Well if that wasn't the universal sign for getting out here I don't know what is.
I slowly poke my head out, only to find Adrian and Draven are there, no wolves in sight. What the hell?
“Why are you hiding in there?” Draven asked me, his tone indifferent and cold, but what else is new, “that's an A Class tent.”
“I don't -” I start to answer, only to be cut off.
“What are you doing here?” Draven continued, not giving me a chance to speak, “this area is forbidden, you need to leave immediately."
“What about those wolves?” I asked, worried and confused at how they could just disappear.
The moment I asked my question Draven’s face changed, not like his usual coldness that's become his whole thing now, no he kinda paled, like he was fearful of something.
“There were no wolves,” Draven said, his tone forceful, like he's trying to make me believe his words are fact, “You were mistaken, you must have seen things, doesn't matter, you need to get home right away.”
“I wasn't seeing things,” I insisted, pissed that he would think I wasn't telling the truth, “I mean I was almost eaten by one of them.”
“Also, where the hell did they go?” I asked, confused and annoyed as they both stared at me, “ how could two big wolves just disappear when you too show up?”
What the hell is going on? All of this started with the mysterious invitation and now I'm here.
I'm hit on the head, brought into the woods unwillingly. Then I end up running into wolves of all things and I can't get any answers.
I’m freaking worried about blood thirsty wolves making a meal for me. When poof, suddenly my “brothers” just pop up and say I'm imagining things.
“What is going on?” I demand, I need some damn answers, “who invited me here and why? What's with the wolves?”
“Also, what the hell are you guys doing camping someplace with wolves?”
“I have no idea what you're talking about,” Draven said, shutting me down, not even thinking of answering me, “you need to go now.”
“You really do,” Adrian said, speaking for the first time since I exited the tent. Even his face is paler than normal, his expression on it I haven't seen before.
Are they scared of the wolves too? Why are they acting so weird?
“I'm not leaving until I get some answers,” I demand, determined to find out what's going on.
We were in the middle of arguing when an unfamiliar voice interrupted us. Turning, I find our new headmaster, Lucius Wild, standing by the treeline.
Lucius Wild, is the youngest headmaster to ever grace Lupine academy. Taking office this year he also holds a position as the youngest professor at the academy, teaching biology.
He's also quickly become very popular with the student body. Probably because of his tall, lean yet muscular build and his long black hair that he usually wears up.
It’s like he stepped straight out of an anime and it has all the girls, hell even some of the guys going crazy.
I remember seeing him at some of our school events before and I had thought that not only is he very impressive but I was also caught up in his appearance as well..
I ignored Draven and Adrian, turning to the headmaster, hoping he'd be able to do more and everything.
“Professor, I need your help please,” I said, hoping he'd be more help then my supposed brothers, “ I was just attacked by these two wolves,”
Frowning he turned to Draven and Adrian, ignoring what I just said.
“Who is this?” Lucius asked, tone cold and very unlike how he was usually around school.
Before I could really understand what was happening both Adrian and Draven were indeed in front of me.
They both made sure to keep themselves between me and our headmaster. Why are they acting like our headmaster is going to kill me?
Lucius stepped forward, leaning closer to talk to Draven And Adiean, without me over hearing.
“Get out of the way,” Lucius ordered, his tone frosting over each moment they remained between him and I.
I could tell that they were trying to resist but for some reason they couldn't manage to.
Once they stepped to the side, our headmaster approached me, his demeanor the polar opposite of what it was.
“Who are you,” Lucius asked, something dark lingered in his tone and the way he looked at me, “and why are you here?”
Something about him was screaming danger and not in the sexy bad boy way you read about in romance novels.
Everything about him right now made it feel like an overwhelming pressure was pressing down on me.
I knew without a doubt that if I lied this would go from horrible to catastrophic so I spilled everything.
I basically word-vomited everything that happened last, I don't even know how many hours, I've been stuck in the woods.
Throughout my whole frantic explanation of everything no one's tension eased or expression relaxed instead all three men's expressions grew worse.
Once I had finished, I took a deep breath hoping that my explanation was good enough to let me in too much trouble.
“This area isn't where humans are allowed to come,” Lucius says, taking a step closer to me, his tall form towers over me, “ you broke the rules and for that punishment must be dealt out.”
Human? What is up with this guy? All four of us are humans. I mean what else would we be aliens?
Why would he choose to word it like that?
Just as Draven and Adrian make a move to interfere, Lucius has grabbed my arm harshly and pulled me away.
The last thing I see is Draven and Adrian both looking almost terrified and sad.
