Chapter 5 Shocking News
The following day, Mira woke up early at 6:00 in the morning. She stared at Alpha Gideon's face for a long time, smiling brightly, enjoying the beautiful moment with her handsome husband.
She giggled happily. His face was the only thing she wants to see first thing in the morning. Waking up every day by his side is a dream come true.
She looked at the ceiling, thanking God in heaven for giving her a new life, a chance to be happy with the man she secretly loved.
Before he caught her ogling at his awesomeness, she slowly left the bed, careful not to awaken him.
While she was in the bathroom, she was thinking about her dead body in the servants' quarters.
What are they going to do with her body?
Would they give her a proper burial?
Hopefully so.
She was staring in the mirror, thinking about how to get some news from the servants' quarters.
Ah, she will ask for Lena's help.
When she emerged from the bathroom door, Alpha Gideon was already up.
"Good morning, my love. Did you sleep well last night?" he asked, observing her face.
Mira nodded her head. "Yes."
"Good," he smiled, pleased with her answer. "How are you feeling today?"
"Better than yesterday. I had a good sleep last night. Thank you for your care and love," she responded gratefully.
He enveloped her in a loving embrace and planted a kiss on her head. "Has your memory already returned? I mean, did you already remember everything?" he asked, feeling hopeful.
She shook her head. "Not yet. I still don't remember everything. I only remember you. The rest I forget even the names of your family members and even my own," she responded despondently. "Right now I have a headache trying to remember everything," she added tearfully.
He was alarmed. "Oh, that's okay. No need to rush, my love. Take your time. You will remember everything soon. Just avoid stressing yourself. Don't worry so much about your current situation. I want you to focus on your health so that our baby will grow healthy in your tummy. Okay?"
She nodded her head. "OK."
"Are you hungry?" he asked.
"Yes, but I don't want to eat with your family in the dining room yet. I'm afraid they'll look at me in a weird way. I will feel uneasy, and I can't eat properly. Can I just eat breakfast here in the room? Please," she pleaded, misty-eyed.
"Sure, my love," Alpha Gideon agreed. "I'll instruct Lena to bring our food here."
"Thank you," Mira said happily, thankful that he was very supportive of her. She felt guilty that she couldn't tell him that his wife's soul was already gone replaced by her soul, and she wanted all of him for herself.
Alpha Gideon left the room.
A few moments later, Lena and another servant arrived in the room and arranged the delicious dishes on the table.
Mira looked at the delicious dishes and salivated.
Five minutes later, Alpha Gideon entered the room and glanced at the dishes on the table. "My love, let's eat."
"OK." Mira settled on the chair, picked up the utensils and began eating with gusto. She ate to her heart's content because in the servants' quarters they were not given enough food to eat by the head housekeeper.
All the good-looking servants were assigned to the Alpha King's mansion to serve the royal families. While the ugly ones like her were assigned to the servants' quarters to tend to the garden, do the laundry, prepare foods for the royals and perform other heavy and dirty chores around the mansion. The ugly servants were not allowed to breath the same air with the royals.
But everytime the servants in the mansion got sick, they sent her and the other rejects to the mansion to help with the chores there. They will serve the royals wearing a white veil on thier faces to hide their ugliness. Those were the times she was happiest because she was able to see her crush, Alpha Gideon.
After they finished eating, Alpha Gideon stood up. "My love, get ready in one hour. We are going to the hospital for a check-up."
"Check up? What for? For our baby?" she asked, surprised.
"No. I want to know why you are suffering from amnesia after you stop breathing last night. I want a proper diagnosis of your current condition," he explained in a gentle tone.
Mira felt anxious but nodded her head. "OK. I'll get ready..."
Alpha Gideon left the room. Lena and the servant came in and took the dirty dishes away.
Mira went to the closet to check Rosie's extensive array of clothes. After a few minutes of inspecting the clothes, she finally found a pretty-looking floral maternity dress with matching undies. She proceeded to the bathroom, took a shower, then put on the dress.
She was brushing her hair in front of the mirror when Lena entered the room.
"Luna, do you want me to apply makeup to your face?" Lena offered.
Mira shook her head. "No need."
Lena raised a brow, confused. "You will never leave the mansion without wearing makeup on your face, Luna," she reminded her.
Mira smiled. "Not this time. I don't like wearing makeup on my face today," she replied, standing up.
"OK. How about shoes and bags? You always go out in matching outfits. For example, if your dress is white you want to wear white high heels and a white or beige shoulder bag," Lena explained.
"I want black flat shoes and a black shoulder bag for today's trip to the hospital," Mira replied casually.
Lena walked to the bags and shoes closet and opened it.
Wow! Mira's eyes widened in shock upon seeing the rows of expensive branded bags and shoes. Such luxurious items are now in her hands to enjoy to the fullest. Luna Rosie's life is full of extravagance, she was living a pampered life as Alpha's favored wife. Such a lucky woman.
Now she's finally living the kind of life that she can only dream of. Life is indeed full of surprises.
Lena looks at her and said, "Luna, please choose your bag and shoes to complete your outfit for the day."
Mira picked up the black shoes and bag and said, "I think these will do just fine."
"Good choice, Luna." Lena approved of her choices. "Um, what accessories do you want to pair with your outfit today? Do you want a gold or silver necklace? How about gold earrings and a gold watch?" she suggested.
Mira shook her head. "I'm going to the hospital, no need for that fancy stuff," she replied casually.
"Okay." Lena picked up the brown bag that her mistress had used previously. "Your cellphone, wallet and toiletries are in this bag, the last bag you used."
"Ah, okay." Mira transferred the contents of the brown bag to the black bag. She stared at the cellphone device for a few seconds. How can she use and open it when she doesn't even know the password? Sigh. Her delimma adds up.
She released a deep sigh.
Lena asked, "What's wrong, Luna?"
She shook her head. "Nothing."
Lena said, "I'll take my leave, Luna. Is there anything you need before I go?"
Time to ask the question that's bothering her after waking up in Luna Rosie's body. Mira cleared her throat. "Um, regarding the servants who also caught the deadly flu virus. I'm wondering how they are doing right now? Did they also survive the flu?" she asked casually, fishing for information.
"I heard good news from other servants in the kitchen," Lena replied.
"What is the good news?" Mira asked curiously. Her heart beat erratically in her rib cage.
Lena answered, "All the servants survived the deadly flu. They are recovering well in the servant's quarters."
"Whaaaat?" Mira asked, surprised by the news. The color drained from her face. Her body trembled as fear and panic gripped her body. She know she died... but why her body is still alive?
Obviously, someone's soul had occupied her body!
But whose soul is it?
Lena noticed an abrupt change in her mistress' demeanor. "Are you okay, Luna? You look pale. What's wrong?" she asked worriedly.
Mira's knees buckled. She quickly sat on the bed. "Honestly, I'm not feeling well right now. Please tell my husband that I can't go to the hospital with him today. I need to rest. I'm feeling sick," she said, and lay down on the bed, looking like she would pass out at any moment.
"Maybe you feel nauseated because of your pregnancy. I'll make a cup of hot ginger tea for you to drink," Lena suggested.
"Yes, please," Mira responded weakly, covering her trembling body with a blanket, wishing she could go somewhere and hide.
Lena left the room in a hurry.
Mira stares at the ceiling. Her mind is in utter chaos.
The disturbing news deeply bothered her.
What's going on? Why is her body still alive?
Now she was tortured by a pressing question creating havoc in her head. Whose soul occupies her body at the moment?
Suddenly a horrifying thoughts crossed her mind. OMG! C-could it be Luna Rosie's soul?
