Chapter 3 Impostor!

Mira was worried that as soon as she talked to them, they would notice the difference and eventually find out that she was an impostor, a fake Rosie!

A few minutes later, Alpha Gideon returned with a few more people. They entered the room and gathered around her.

"Check my wife. Why is she not talking and responding to me?" Alpha Gideon asked the pack's doctor.

Dr. Quade stared at Rosie, shocked. "This is incredible! She came back to life for real!"

"Hurry up!" Alpha Gideon snapped at the doctor.

"Copy, Alpha." The pack doctor quickly checked Rosie's pulse and heartbeat. "Unbelievable, she looked fine and healthy as if she hadn't died at all, as if she had just awakened from a deep sleep..." he murmured in awe and disbelief.

"How about the baby in her tummy?" Alpha Gideon asked worriedly.

The pack doctor quickly checked Rosie's baby bump using a stethoscope. Huge relief washed over him the moment he heard the baby's heartbeat. "Amazing! The baby is alive! I can hear the heartbeat," he blurted the news happily.

Alpha Gideon smiled broadly, his heart bursting with joy.

"It seems Luna Rosie is favored by the Moon Goddess. She brought her back to life," the pack doctor gushes in delight.

"Rosie my love, how are you feeling now?" asked Alpha Gideon, peering into her eyes.

Mira blanketed herself with thick silence, scared to utter a single word, scared of how her voice would sound to others.

Everyone stared at Luna Rosie's face expectantly, wondering why she wasn't responding at all.

"Has Luna Rosie gone mute?" the pack doctor's assistant asked curiously.

The room fell into a deep silence.

Has she really gone mute?

Alpha Gideon sprang into action. "Rosie, how are you feeling now?" he asked worriedly, holding her hand, inspecting her face, deeply worried about her condition.

Speechless, Mira could only stare at Alpha Gideon in astonishment. She didn't know what to say or do at that very moment. Everything happened so fast, she needs more time to digest everything. She felt mentally unprepared to face them all and felt uncomfortable under their intense gaze. She was terrified that her secret would be revealed the moment she opened her mouth and speak.

Since she was afraid to utter a single word, she ignored them by closing her eyes, pretending she was tired and sleepy. She wanted them all to leave the room so she could gather her thoughts.

She needed enough time to adjust to her new body and her new surroundings. She was overwhelmed by everything that was happening to her.

Alpha Gideon looked at the pack doctor. "Why is she not responding to my question?" he asked anxiously.

"Um, maybe she's tired? Let's give her enough time to recuperate. Hopefully she will start talking tomorrow. For now, she need to rest," Dr. Quade replied calmly.

"Shall I call her personal maid to attend to her?" Alpha Gideon suggested.

The pack doctor nodded his head. "Yes. She needed her maid by her side. Maybe she will start talking to her."

"Okay, call Lena to attend to my wife," Alpha Gideon ordered the doctor's assistant. He was anxious for his wife to start talking again.

The pack doctor placed his hand on Rosie's forehead to check if she had a fever. "Her body temperature is okay now. And we haven't heard her coughing again ever since she's back to life. Her nasty cough was gone. She was completely healed. Her case is mind-blowing!" he commented in awe.

"Can a dead person fully come back to life?" Alpha Gideon suddenly asked in bewilderment.

"Well, it's a rare occurence, but it could happened to anyone. It is possible to stop breathing for a few hours but eventually wake up and continue to live until old age. But Luna Rosie's case is different. This is the first time it has happened to someone of our own kind," the pack doctor explained.

"Alright, let's keep observing her condition the whole night," Alpha Gideon said in relief. "I will stay by her side tonight, and you guys will stay outside the room just in case my wife needs your assistance," he added.

"Copy, Alpha," the pack doctor agreed.

Mira continues her silence, listening to their conversation with her eyes closed.

"I'm amazed that her coughing stopped completely after she awakened. This is indeed a one-of-a-kind miracle. I have never witnessed anything like this in my whole life," Dr. Quade stated in bafflement.

Despite his wife's troubling silence, Alpha Gideon was still grateful. "It's a good thing that her coughing has stopped, which means our baby is now safe from danger."

A few moments later, the Alpha King and the Luna Queen rushed into the room after hearing the good news.

"Son, is this true? Rosie came back to life?" Luna Queen inquired in disbelief.

"Is this true, son?" Alpha King asked.

Alpha Gideon nodded his head. "Yes, she is awake now," he replied happily.

"How about the baby?" Luna Queen asked anxiously, placing her hand on Rosie's pulse and observing the up and down movement of her chest. "Wow, she's now breathing normally. But why were her eyes closed?" she asked, confused.

"She's tired, Mom. She needs a long rest. I'm sure she will start talking tomorrow when she wakes up in the morning," Alpha Gideon said reassuringly.

"Don't worry, your highness, the baby is fine. I can hear the baby's heartbeat via the stethoscope I placed on her stomach awhile ago," the pack doctor assured the Luna Queen.

"Glad to hear that," Luna Queen Rebecca smiled brightly in relief.

Alpha King Samuel found the whole thing shocking but at the same time incredible. He was glad that his daughter-in-law was alive. "That is wonderful! The Moon Goddess is kind to us. She gave Rosie back to us," he said gratefully, thankful for the timely divine intervention of the Moon Goddess.

Luna Rebecca beamed and announced, "Alright everyone, let's all leave the room so the couple can take a rest."

They all walked to the door and exited except for Alpha Gideon.

Lena, Rosie's personal maid, entered the room and said, "Alpha, do you want me to attend to Luna Rosie?"

Alpha Gideon rose to his feet. "Yes. She just woke up. She's still tired. She's not talking to me yet, but maybe she will talk to you. Try asking her if she wants something to eat or drink."

"Yes, Alpha." Lena excitedly moved closer to the bed.

Alpha Gideon walked to the door. "I will find something to drink in the wine room. If my wife needs me, find me there."

Lena nodded her head. "Copy, Alpha."

Alpha Gideon left the room.

Lena places her hand on Rosie's arm and beams. "Luna Rosie, wake up. I'm so sad after learning of your passing. But I was also overjoyed upon learning that you miraculously come back to life. I'm so happy right now," she said, her voice filled with gladness.

Mira didn't open her eyes, ignoring the maid completely.

"Luna, can you hear me? Do you want to drink water or eat something? Are you hungry? I can get you a bowl of delicious chicken soup, your favorite," Lena offered.

The mention of food and water made Mira open her eyes. She felt hungry and thirsty. She looked at the maid and said, "W-who are you? What is your name?"

Lena's forehead furrowed in confusion. "Luna Rosie, don't you remember my name anymore?"

"I'm sorry, I can't remember your name anymore. My head hurts and I'm hungry and thirsty. Please give me water," Mira begged.

"You really can't remember me anymore?" Lena asked sadly.

"No." Mira shook her head.

Lena sighed. "My name is Lena. I'm your loyal and trusted servant," she reminded her. "Do you have amnesia, Luna Rosie?" she finally asked, daring to ask the question.

Mira stared at the servant's face for a few seconds, then something clicked in her mind. "I don't know. Sorry, I can't remember your name. Can you please give me a bowl of hot chicken soup and water? I'm hungry and thirsty."

Lena nodded her head. "Yes, Luna. I'll get your food from the kitchen. I'll be back in a minute."

Mira watched the maid walk to the door and left the room.

Wait a minute...

Amnesia?

That's right, after she died for a few hours, she had amnesia!

What a fantastic idea. She doesn't have to remember anyone's name anymore if she has amnesia.

She can use that alibi to her advantage.

She slowly got up from bed, walked towards the dressing table in the corner and stared at her reflection in the mirror.

Wow, she looks so pretty now, no longer the ugly duckling servant she used to be.

Her pale skin is smooth and flawless. Her long strawberry-blond hair cascades down her back in waves.

Luna Rosie is truly a beautiful woman inside and out. She and Alpha Gideon were a perfect match. A beautiful couple.

And now that she was occupying Rosie's body, she will live a perfect life starting today.

Who would have expected she would become Alpha Gideon's wife after her death?

Wishes do come true!

Can she consider herself lucky now?

She stares hard at her reflection in the mirror. Although she looks beautiful and her status as Alpha Gideon's wife was secured, she can't be completely happy about it because this is not her original body. She feels like an impostor!

'Yeah, you are an impostor! You are a fake Luna!' A voice inside her head screamed indignantly.

Huh? Mira's eyes widen. Where did that voice come from? She looked around the room to locate the strange voice.

'You are a fraud! You are not the real Luna Rosie!' The voice continued taunting her, getting louder.

Huh? What's going on?

She spun around in astonishment, looking around the room. "Who are you? Where are you?"

'Impostor! Leave this body now! Shameless woman! Bring Rosie back!' The voice repeatedly said, getting louder in her ears.

Mira's forehead creased in shock and astonishment when she realized the voice originated in her head.

Why is there another voice in her head?

Is this Rosie's soul talking to her?

She knows for sure it's not her internal monologue speaking to her right now. 'Who are you?' She finally asked.

'Dumb human girl. Can't you not know? I'm in your head, idiot! I'm Rosie's wolf. My name is Ada. I'm going to inform Alpha Gideon that you stole Rosie's body and kicked her soul out. You are a body snatcher! Shame on you!'

Mira froze in shock as awareness finally dawned on her. Of course, werewolves had wolves residing in their heads and Rosie also had one.

OMG! She was talking to Rosie's wolf right now.

If she thought she could hide her secret for a long time, she was wrong. She didn't expect Rosie's wolf would discover her identity sooner.

She looked at herself in the mirror, panicking.

What is she going to do now?

'I want us to transform now!' Ada demanded fiercely. "I will expose your evil scheme to the royal family! I will tell Alpha Gideon that you stole his wife's body!"
