Chapter 2 What A Mess!

Mira closed her eyes for a few minutes, calming her confused mind, analyzing everything slowly.

She was reborn in another woman's body. She has to keep reminding herself that she has to be mindful of her actions and words from now on.

The question still remains though: who owns the body she occupies now?

She knew for certain that she was already dead, but somehow she was reborn in someone else's body.

Did God intervene in her fate and give her a second chance at life?

It's what exactly happening right now, making her a nervous wreck.

She looked around her surroundings. She immediately noticed the clean and spacious room, the comfy bed, the expensive furniture and modern appliances scattered around the room. A huge contrast to her shabby room in the servant's quarters.

Wow. The room looks fabulous, everything here looks expensive.

'Welcome to your new life, Mira!' she thought to herself.

Curious what her face looks like, she put her feet on the floor about to leave the bed to see her reflection in the mirror but she heard footsteps outside the door.

Oh...

People are coming!

Who are they?

She quickly lie down on the bed, and hid beneath the blanket, pretending she was sleeping.

She holds her breath, careful not to make any sounds or movements. She shuts her eyes, waiting for what's going to happen next.

The door opened. She heard people entering the room, and they started arguing.

"Son, please listen to us. Rosie is dead. We need to bring her body to the pack's morgue so we can start burial preparations," a woman's voice insisted.

"Mom, I want to spend time with my beloved wife for the last time. Please understand my situation. I'm absolutely grieving and heartbroken right now." A male voice spoke despondently.

"Alrigh fine," the woman replied.

Mira heard footsteps retreating, and the door closing. She breathed in relief. However, to her dismay, she heard footsteps coming in her direction and another weight was added to the bed.

Oh, no!

Strong, heavy arms wrapped around her waist. "Rosie my love, why did you leave me?" the male voice cried in sorrow. His body trembled as he began to sob hard, pouring his heart out.

Mira froze in panic. Who is this guy crying and hugging the dead body she had just reborn with?

He must be the grieving husband? Yep, that's right.

Everything clicked into place. The poor guy was broken-hearted and distraught because just lost his beloved wife.

She and Rosie must have passed away at the same time, which is why she was reborn into her body.

But where is the soul of his wife?

She dares not make noise even if the guy started caressing her tummy. He cried like a baby at his wife's sudden passing. She could feel his sorrow and despair seeping through her skin, tugging at her heart. This woman is lucky, she has someone who cried on her deathbed. She, on the other hand, died alone. No one shed a tear at her tragic passing.

She waited for the guy to finish crying and left the room so she could see her face in the mirror.

Based on people's conversation earlier, his wife's name is Rosie.

Wait a minute... she's already heard that name before!

This guy who is hugging her, why does his voice sound familiar?

Rosie's name and the guy's voice sound familiar to her.

Ugh, she has so many things to remember if she wants to continue living like the real Rosie.

She was glad she was reborn – but being married and pregnant was not appealing to her. She wishes she was reborn in a single woman's body, no restrictions, free to do anything with her new life and identity. It's easier that way.

She just wants to live a life completely different from her previous life.

But it would be ungrateful of her to complain because she was given another chance at life and her condition was so much better than before.

But how will she behave around this guy?

Will he notice the difference that she was no longer his original wife?

Ugh, her head hurts thinking about her new life. Will she even get used to her life as a married pregnant woman?

She took a deep breath, finding her situation unbearable to comprehend.

That's when the guy noticed her heavy breathing.

"Rosie, my love... are...are you breathing?" He immidiately removed the blanket and looked at his wife's pretty face, gasping in shock.

Rosie's eyes were wide open, and she was breathing just fine.

Holy cow!

He was frozen on the spot, stunned for a moment as confusion and shock washed over him. His eyes widened in disbelief for a few minutes.

A burst of immense joy and relief surged through his heart after realizing his wife was alive.

Mira blinked several times, staring at his face in shock. Her heart beat rapidly at the mind-blowing revelation unfolding in front of her.

OMG!

She knew this guy. He was her crush, the handsome and enigmatic Alpha Gideon!

Then she finally remembered who Rosie was. She was Alpha's second wife.

Last week, the pregnant Luna Rosie also caught the deadly flu virus that plagued the pack and other neighboring packs. She didn't expect them to die at the same time.

"Rosie my love, you are alive! I'm so happy right now!" He gushes in glee, hugging her tightly. "I'll call the doctor to check on your condition!"

Overjoyed, he stood up and rushed to the door, gone in an instant.

Mira was stunned by her luck. She was finally given a second chance to live again and this time with her crush as his wife! Such a fantastic opportunity of a lifetime.

She dreamed of him in her sleep countless times. She fantasized about him. She wished to meet a guy who would love her and accept all her flaws, and he would look exactly like Alpha Gideon.

And it's finally happening right now! A wish come true.

She's pretty, no longer ugly and the amazing part, she was now Alpha Gideon's wife. Fantastic!

Everything she wished for has finally materialized. It's more than she could ask for.
