Chapter 1

I've been reborn, transported back to the day I gave birth to my daughter.

In my past life, I humbled myself for love, only to be betrayed by my husband Caspian and his mistress Serafina.

They disfigured me, murdered my little girl, and threw me in prison.

This time around, I'm divorcing him without a second thought, holding my daughter close, and escaping this living hell!

Arlene's POV

"Isn't she still alive?" That was my mother-in-law, Rowena Valcour, her voice dripping with disdain. "All this drama over popping out a kid..."

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I lay on the delivery bed, sobbing uncontrollably.

But no one knew the real reason for my tears.

They figured it was the pain, the exhaustion.

Only I knew—it was pure joy.

I'd been reborn, right back to the day I gave birth to my daughter.

Three years ago, Caspian's grandma, Helen Valcour, had pulled the strings to make him marry me.

But after the wedding, he never laid a hand on me.

He said I wasn't good enough for him, that I was just some burden shoved down his throat, and that he'd only ever love Serafina Cross for the rest of his life.

I couldn't accept it. I tried everything, even slipping into his bed one night when he was blackout drunk.

A month later, I was pregnant.

I thought having his baby would make him come around.

Boy, was I wrong.

From then on, he hated me even more, leaving me miserable through the whole pregnancy.

His parents never liked me to begin with, and now they treated me like a total eyesore.

Only Helen stuck up for me, giving me a shaky spot in the Valcour family.

In my last life, after a brutal labor, Caspian demanded a divorce.

I refused. I threw a fit, begging and crying for him to stay.

In the end, it was Helen who ordered them to bring me back to the estate.

But that very night, Serafina got into a car wreck and "died."

After that, Caspian's hatred for me hit rock bottom.

He was convinced I'd killed her.

He started tormenting me, humiliating me, demanding I "pay for Serafina's life" with my own.

I wanted out.

But I couldn't leave my daughter behind.

Two years later, Serafina "came back from the dead," returning as this glamorous violinist, fresh off a world tour.

She was even prettier than before—her face all done up with plastic surgery, looking like a perfect little doll.

The first thing she did when she got back? She ruined my face. Then she kicked me out of the Valcour house for good.

Worse still, on my daughter's third birthday, she died.

Serafina told everyone I'd killed her.

The Valcours dragged me to court.

A month later, I died in prison from some illness.

When I went, I was clutching a photo of my daughter from her first birthday.

And Serafina? She got her happy ending as Caspian's wife.

Now, I'd been given a second chance.

Back to when my daughter was still alive.

In my last life, I'd gotten on my knees, begging them to let me stay.

I thought if I acted pathetic enough, they'd pity me.

Instead? The more I groveled, the more they saw me as an easy target.

This time around, I was taking my daughter and getting the hell out of this nightmare.
