Chapter 1

Pagkababa sa tren at konting lakad lang, nakita na ni Benjie ang signage ng bar. Sa oras na iyon, nagsisimula nang magliwanag ang mga ilaw sa labas ng bar, na nagbibigay ng mainit na ambiance.
“Magandang gabi, ako po si Benjie, isang food blogger sa X platform. Gusto ko sanang makausap ang may-ari niyo,” pakilala ni Benjie sa receptionist.
Tinawag ng receptionist ang may-ari mula sa kusina. Matapos ang ilang pag-uusap, ipinakilala ni Mr. Qin, ang may-ari, ang mga espesyal na pagkain ng kanilang bar. Nakasuot ito ng polo at slacks, ang kanyang tie ay nakatago sa loob ng polo, at ang kanyang coat ay nakasabit sa likod ng upuan. “Ako si Benjie, kumusta?” sabi ni Benjie habang nakangiti at iniabot ang kamay. Noon lang niya nakita nang malinaw ang mukha ng lalaki. Hindi man ito nakakagulat, pero parang gawa ito ni Inang Kalikasan. Ngunit ang mga mata ng lalaki ay tila matalim at may halong inis.
“May kailangan ka ba?” tanong ng lalaki nang hindi iniabot ang kamay at walang bahid ng pagkagulat. Siguro'y sanay na ito sa mga ganitong sitwasyon.
“Ganito kasi, isa akong food blogger. Nandito ako para tikman ang mga pagkain nila. Gusto ko sanang malaman ang opinyon ng mga customer tungkol sa pagkain dito,” sabi ni Benjie habang ibinababa ang kamay at nag-isip ng mabilis.
