Chapter 4
I've been in Seaside City for a month now. Without William and Anna bothering me, my life has been peaceful and happy.
Today I woke up and worked as usual. A client suddenly told me to check Facebook. I didn't understand why, so I casually opened Facebook and saw photos that made my face flush and my heart race.
In the photos, the two of them were being intimate. In the last one, Anna even showed off her baby bump, with a caption that read: [Lara, I know you're not replying to my messages because you're jealous. Let me tell you, William is mine, and his family has accepted me, too. William even said I've been working hard lately and especially gave me the Design Director position. Now I'm the Moore Family's daughter-in-law. I'm the woman William loves most.]
My heart had been calm for so long, but when I saw that Anna had become Design Director, I still broke down crying.
I remember the first time I met William was at the company.
I was working late at night, rushing a project, when William happened to pass by. He praised my design talent and started pursuing me after that.
After we got together, my work became Moore Corp's signature pieces. Many clients worked with Moore Corp because of me. I also mentioned to William about getting promoted to Director.
But back then he said, "You just graduated not long ago. You've just happened to design a few hit products. You still need to keep learning."
I thought he said this for my own good, so I worked hard to improve myself.
But looking at it now, that was clearly just his excuse!
Anna was just a secretary who has never been involved in design, yet he promoted her to the Design Director.
He simply never loved me.
I didn't want to get tangled up with these awful people anymore. I replied below: [Thanks for taking out the trash, otherwise I wouldn't have known how disgusting he is.]
After blocking Anna, I turned off my phone and focused on work.
Right after that, I got a message on my work account from the person in charge at Moore Corp. He said the design department had a new director, and the current project would now be handled by the new director.
I laughed coldly. William clearly hasn't read the text I sent him, otherwise, how would he not know that the designer is me?
I didn't want any more contact with Anna, so I directly refused the person in charge.
But he kept pestering me. Left with no choice, I directly raised my design fee by 10 times.
Sure enough, he stopped bothering me.
I thought that would be the end of it, but in the afternoon I got another message.
[Hello, Designer Vicky, I'm Anna, Moore Corp CEO's wife, and the Director of the Design Department. I don't know why your design fee suddenly increased. Can you give me a reason?]
