Chapter 2

William didn't care about me at all, so why should I have this child for him?

Only by getting rid of this child can I cut ties with William forever.

The doctor initially wanted to talk me out of it, but after hearing what I'd been through, she felt really sorry for me and agreed with my decision.

I had the abortion and spent a long time recovering before my body gradually got better.

After leaving the hospital, I checked into a hotel.

Before I married William, I was a full-time house designer. When I worked in design, I introduced myself as designer Vicky, not my real name. Later, William said being a designer wasn't suitable for a CEO's wife, so I quitted my job for him.

But over these years at home with nothing to do, I still used my old connections and kept taking on projects. Because my designs were fast and good, old clients kept referring new ones to me.

Plus, without having to split profits with a company, I was making way more money than before. William once said my work wasn't impressive enough, so I kept my work and income hidden from him.

He thought I could only survive by depending on him, which was why he dared to bully me along with Anna.

Not long ago, through a mutual acquaintance, William contacted me asking me to design a house for him. Originally, I planned to quote him a lower price, or even do it for free.

Back then, I was still thinking, if William knew the designer was me, would he agree to let me go back to work? But now, we just gotten divorced, so none of that mattered anymore.

After leaving the hospital, I got a call from William telling me to go to court.

William said, "I haven't been able to reach you for seven whole days. Don't tell me you don't want to go to court with me to get divorced."

Hearing this, I already knew what he was going to say next.

Sure enough, he continued, "Too bad you're wrong. With the divorce agreement, I can get the divorce certificate without you."

The next second, I received photos of our divorce certificate, and his marriage certificate with Anna.

He said, "Don't bother Anna. I'll remarry you in a year."

I didn't want to hear him talk anymore and hung up directly.

I was grateful to have my own career and not be subject to his threats.

I suddenly remembered the divorce certificate was still with him, so I sent him an address and told him to mail it to me.

The address was a place I'd stayed at for work. The hotel I was staying at temporarily was very close by, so I could pick it up once the delivery arrived.

These past few days, William and I had no contact, but Anna kept harassing me.

She sent me intimate photos of her and William every single day.

I just found it ridiculous. William was nothing more than a man I'd thrown away.

Did she really think this would get to me?

Over these days, I'd already planned out my future life. Once I got the divorce certificate, I'd move to another city.

Soon, I got the divorce certificate. After booking my plane ticket, I sent William a text message.

[William, I'm sure you remember the house designer you contacted before. Unfortunately for you, that designer was me. Originally, I was going to do the design for you for free. Now that I think about it, were you planning to have me design your wedding room? But I'm about to leave this place. I forgot to tell you. Our child has gone to heaven. I want you to remember forever that you and Anna killed him!]

After sending that text, I threw away my phone, boarded the plane, and went to embrace a new life in Seaside City.
