Chapter 1

On Christmas Eve, I was decorating the Christmas tree at home with my pregnant belly. My husband, William Moore, suddenly came back, and following behind him was another pregnant woman.

I knew this woman. She was my husband's secretary, Anna.

When did she get pregnant? How come I didn't know?

Before I could even ask, my husband threw some documents at me and said, "Anna is pregnant. Sign this divorce agreement first, and we'll remarry after she gives birth."

I stood there frozen, my heart feeling like it was being torn apart.

William had cheated on me!

And he brought his pregnant mistress home!

Even worse, he wanted to divorce me just to give his mistress's baby a name!

"I'm pregnant too. Have you even thought about me?" I asked, my voice shaking.

He looked at me coldly and scolded, "Why are you being so difficult! I already told you, we're only divorcing temporarily. We'll remarry later. Just sign the agreement and stop making me angry!"

I couldn't believe what my husband was saying. How could he say such cruel things!

I was his wife!

Anna had a smug smile on her face, looking at me like a winner.

I looked at the agreement. According to the terms, I would leave with nothing!

William was the one who cheated during our marriage, yet I had to leave with nothing. How ridiculous!

William explained, "We're going to remarry anyway, so there's no need to divide the property."

Looking at the coldness on William's face, my heart ached.

I only hated myself for being so blind and marrying such a jerk!

I picked up the pen and quickly signed the divorce agreement, saying, "I've signed it. We have nothing to do with each other anymore!"

After saying that, I went to the bedroom to pack my things and leave.

William looked cold and had no intention of stopping me.

When I finished packing and was about to leave, Anna appeared at the top of the stairs.

She pretended to care about me and see me off, but when I wasn't paying attention, she pushed me down the stairs.

In an instant, my blood stained the entire carpet. I cried out in pain, "William, please, save our baby!"

But William just glanced at me coldly and said, "You're so strong, how could you possibly miscarry? Go back to your room and sleep. Stop making a scene!"

Then he left with Anna.

I wanted to call for help, but my phone wasn't nearby.

I dragged my bleeding body to find my phone and called for an ambulance, "Help... help me!"

When I woke up again, I was in the hospital. The doctor told me, "The baby is saved. You need to be careful from now on. Rest well."

I put my hands on my belly. I thought maybe he didn't want to come into this world either, to face such a heartless father.

I took a deep breath and finally made up my mind. I grabbed the doctor who was about to leave and said firmly, "I want to terminate this pregnancy!"
