Chapter 3 Change the Groom
The sounds of sex, Maya's moaning, and Leo's dirty talk echoed through the speakers to every corner of the venue.
Leo's expression instantly changed, and Maya turned equally pale.
What the hell were these videos?
Whispers began spreading through the crowd.
"Oh my god, the woman in that footage is actually Maya? She's no different from those porn actresses!"
"She looks so innocent on the surface, but who knew she'd be so slutty!"
"This wedding is supposed to be a business alliance between two families. How dare Leo cheat? Isn't he afraid of completely ruining things between them?"
Maya couldn't take it anymore. Her eyes rolled back and she fainted.
Donna looked down at her from above. This scene was exactly what she'd expected.
But then she suddenly noticed Maya's eyelashes trembling slightly.
She was faking it!
Donna smirked and stepped directly on Maya's foot.
She was wearing stiletto heels today.
The sharpness of those 2-inch heels was easy to imagine.
Maya's face twisted in pain, but she still gritted her teeth hard and made no sound.
Donna raised an eyebrow, a flash of surprise in her eyes. She could really take it.
Without hesitation, she stepped on her again.
Maya's face turned purple from holding it in, but she still didn't cry out.
Even if Donna trampled her to death here today, she had to stay "unconscious" to the end. Otherwise, her entire future would be ruined.
As the chaos reached this point, someone finally reacted.
Leo's father, Robert Russell, leaned on his cane, furious. "What a disgrace!"
Today, the Russell family's reputation was left in ruins.
Leo's face was pale as he shouted urgently. "Quick, pull the plug!"
Finally, a staff member ran onto the stage and unplugged the power.
Unfortunately, even though the screen went black, it was too late—everyone present had already seen the footage.
Leo took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, then turned his gaze to Donna.
Donna was just a bargaining chip in this business marriage. Her father Peter Jackson had long since married a new wife, and he had enough illegitimate children outside to form a soccer team.
Donna's opinions didn't matter; whether she'd be married off or not depended entirely on Peter.
The huge benefits of a business alliance with the Russell family—the Jackson family definitely wouldn't want to give that up.
With this thought, Leo grabbed the microphone from the officiant. "Everyone quiet down. The wedding continues."
Donna looked up at him coldly and declared loudly. "The wedding continues, but with a different groom."
Everyone's expressions changed again.
Leo quickly spoke in a humble tone. "Donna, some people can't stand our families' business alliance, so they came up with this way to frame me. I'll investigate this matter thoroughly and give you an explanation. We've been together so long—don't you trust me?"
The disgust in Donna's eyes was impossible to hide as she took a step back. "I only trust what I see. You're not going to tell me this footage is fake, are you? Are you kidding me?"
Seeing his lie exposed, Leo instantly became angry with embarrassment. "How long are you going to keep this up? Yes, I did something wrong, but can't I just not cheat anymore? With so many guests here today, what kind of joke do you want to make?"
Donna's eyes grew even colder as she smiled sarcastically. "Believing a cheating man will change is like believing pigs can fly."
Leo's righteous attitude just now almost made her think he wasn't the one who cheated.
"You've refreshed my understanding of how low and despicable human nature can be."
Leo waved his hand impatiently. "Enough! Donna, I'm telling you one last time—this wedding must go on. The Russell family cannot accept such humiliation. Besides, even if you want to change grooms, would your father agree?"
The last sentence carried a tone of certainty.
And Peter immediately came onto the stage, looking coldly at Donna.
"Leo just made the classic mistake every guy makes. What's there not to forgive? Right now, several important projects at the company all depend on the Russell family. No matter how wronged you feel, you have to suck it up."
Donna pressed her lips tightly together.
She'd long been disappointed in Peter, but she never expected that at a time like this, he'd still only think about the company's interests.
Leo thought of something and softened his tone, pulling Donna's hand. "Donna, I really do love you. If Maya hadn't kept seducing me, I wouldn't have lost my head and done something to hurt you. Trust me just this once."
"Don't touch me. I find you disgusting."
Donna pulled her hand back without hesitation, looking at Leo with disgust.
She casually pointed at Maya, still unconscious on the ground.
"Does your mistress know you've pushed all the blame onto her?"
Leo looked completely indifferent. "It was just a fling. If it weren't for her, this scandal wouldn't have blown up. After this is over, I'll settle accounts with her."
Donna saw Maya's fingers move slightly, and her smile became meaningful.
Soon she'd get to see the scene she most wanted to see—villains turning on each other.
Peter coughed and continued. "Now Leo has made his position clear. He's admitted his mistake and will change. Just continue with the wedding, and we'll talk about everything else at home."
Donna asked unhurriedly. "When did I ever say Leo was the groom at this wedding?"
Leo's eyes widened. "What do you mean? Are you planning to marry someone else?"
"Look at the name on the invitation."
Donna laughed coldly. Only by making a complete scene like this could she stop Peter from selling her off for profit.
Right now, her biggest asset was her marriage.
But once she was married, even if she was forced to divorce, who would accept a divorced woman?
Leo rushed off the stage and grabbed an invitation from a guest's hand.
This invitation was one Donna had spent three days designing herself.
"Bride Donna, groom Edward?"
Leo's voice trembled at the end.
This name was exactly the same as his uncle's?
No, it must just be the same name.
Everyone in their circle knew Donna was his fiancée.
Besides, his uncle was cold and distant from women, and at one point Tristan had even suspected his sexual orientation.
Donna looked coldly at Leo. "Now you see, don't you? The groom at this wedding was never you. Even if the wedding continues, it won't be with you."
Leo's voice came out word by word as if squeezed through his teeth. "Donna, my tolerance for you has limits! Don't push me!"
Just as he finished speaking, a Cayenne suddenly pulled up at the entrance.
