Chapter 44 Blood Across the River

The river looked like a silver snake stretching out in front of them, and the pale morning sun made its surface shine. The mist was thick enough to hide anything that might be under the water. On the other side, jagged cliffs rose high, and the path beyond was lost in shadow.
