Chapter 4 Escape
Alessia’s POV
My legs felt unsteady as I walked out of his private room, his words a silent mantra in my head: From tonight onwards, you belong to me, Alessia.
I refuse , I won’t be exchanged from one mafia family to another like a piece of luggage.
I forced a fake smile on my face as Silva passed by, holding my tray like I was having a normal first day while I was having a mini breakdown. If he knew what I was planning he would have me chained to a chair…!
As the night wound down, I approached Silva who was standing with Rici, the bartender, counting the tips made .
“Silva, I need to go out to get some essentials after my shift. I won’t be long. I know the girls live here, right?”
I kept my voice calm and upbeat not wanting him to notice there is something amiss because If Silva so much as raises an eye brow? I am done for
He barely raised his head up, focused on his task.
“That’s fine. You have forty-five minutes. Do not be late.”
Relief washed over me in waves. Oh great , Mr Ferrini hasn’t briefed him yet.
I went to the ladies’ room, changed into my clothes, and walked out of the club with my head held high as if I was still a free person. I stepped into the alleyway and took a turn on my way to the nearest convenience store. I had only taken a few steps out of Le Margarita when I was approached by none other than Angelo, the Sirrano head henchman, and his goons. Oh no, they must have been pursuing me since I left the hotel and I thought I had lost them. I take a deep breath and try to slow my racing heart.
“Tsk, tsk,” he walked closer to me, rubbing his gun smoothly down my face.
“Well, if it isn’t little red. You thought you could stay in there forever, didn’t you?”
I gulped, My throat was suddenly very dry, and fear was coursing through me. I took a step back. “Angelo, leave me alone. I am not a Sirrano staff anymore. I can come and go as I please.”
They laughed as if I had made a joke .
Did you really think just because you got a nightclub job that makes you a free woman? You were born and brought up on Sirranos property and that will never change Little red. Besides you are still a wanted thief .He taunts
Angelo gave them a nod and they held my hands tightly from the back. Angelo stepped closer, breathing down my face.
Ugh, gross. My heart filled with fear and defiance. I would not let him know how much this disgusted me. I knew he would get off on it.
“You still owe the Sirranos La Rosa. That makes you our property still.”
My stomach lurched in fear. I tried to move but my hands were held in an iron clad grip.
“Angelo, let me go,” I struggled, and he just laughed.
I tried again, but they were just too strong. “Dios mío, help me.” My heart was racing and Angelo stepped closer still, his length entirely on me.
Before I could protest, he was pulled back and punched and a loud crack!!He swore as his nose started to bleed. Th one holding me removed his hand quickly.
“This is not your concern, Mr. Ferrini,” Angelo squeaked.
He moved back again as he spoke.
Alex’s guards spread out like flies around him, holding both of my attackers captive.
Alex moved forward slowly, pulling me behind him.
Angelo’s still swearing, using a handkerchief to hold his nose as his hands were held tight behind him.
“Oh, but it is Angelo. You are harassing a La Margarita bella. I can’t allow that,” he drawled lazily, looking at Angelo with eyes dark with fury.
“Sir, she is unfinished business, just carrying out orders,” Angelo said, lifting his hands up.
“Hmm,” Alex said, gaze pensive. He slowly stooped as if to tie his shoelace, then quickly grabbed his gun and shot Angelo’s leg ,Bang! The sound reverberates in the alley, loud and deadly
I gasp….
Angelo screams “Fuck!!!” falling on the ground. His lackey tying his leg up with a make shift support.
Alex blows the gun smoke away and tucks it back into his holster.
“Tell Thomas Sirrano Alessia belongs to me now.”
I stepped from behind Alex, satisfaction coating my voice as sweet as honey.
“Tsk, tsk, Angelo… you better run along and report to Thomas.”
Alex glanced at me surprise written on his face for a moment before he masks it my eyes widened with terror. Drat I hope he doesn't want to teach me a lesson like that too.
“Did you think you could escape me, cara mia?” he taunted, his voice both deadly and sexy at the same time.
I opened my mouth to talk but no words came out. He stepped closer, touching my face where Angelo’s gun trailed. I shudder his touch affecting me more than I want to admit.
“Not in this lifetime Cara Mia.” His gaze dark and possessive. I wanted to run, scream, but I couldn’t. The next thing I knew he held my hand tight and was walking me quickly toward a black tinted limo parked at the curb.
His guard opened the door and he said to me, “You are coming home with me,” putting me into the limo first and stepping in after me.
And just like that, I belonged to someone else someone much more deadly. As the door shut I resigned to my fate, my last hope of freedom gone with the wind. I wasn't free neither was I safe I belonged to him now.
