Chapter 7 Chapter 7
Bella.
The place is more packed than I thought. There are cars and people everywhere and this makes me nervous.
Goddess! I don't fit here. All these people have wolves and I don't.
What will Enzo think when he finds out? I know I should have mentioned it but he told me not to talk to him, right?
"Leave the bags. The driver will take them to our room," Enzo says, and I silently groan. Of course, we are sharing a room. Every normal couple does.
For the first time since I knew this man, Enzo opens the door and takes my hand after helping me out of the car.
"Thank you" I murmur and nervously look around.
Enzo leads me to the crowd where everyone is patiently waiting and my anxiety rises.
My eyes wander through the crowd, and my heart skips when I see them. Sebastian and Stella. This is going to be so bad. Did they have to be here?
What should I do now? They must think I died. As if he can sense my stare, Seb looks straight at me and I hold my breath.
My hold on Enzo unconsciously tightens and I quickly look away. Those two will surely cause me trouble.
I need to stay away from them. I take deep breaths to calm myself because I have nothing to do with them. They are my past now.
"Alphas and Lunas, every one of you is here for the same thing. In this exercise, we encourage discipline and honesty. Unlike the past, this exercise will be different. We are here to choose the best. The strongest alpha and his Luna, but first, we need to go back to our roots "
"Werewolves were born in the wilderness, that is our home. The forest. As time passes, we tend to replace that by emulating the human way of life. We have replaced the wilderness with living in mansions and human cities. By doing that, we suppress our wolves. We are losing our primal nature, and that's why the first three months of this exercise will be spent entirely in the mountains." The man announces and murmurs break in the crowd.
Everyone here is dressed in fancy designer clothing. The men are in tailored suits while the women are in expensive gowns and heels. Don't forget the designer handbags in their hands.
"You are expected to hunt for your food. Shower in the streams and the least we will offer you is a tent to sleep in. After three months, those who will survive to the end will proceed with the exercise." His voice is once again met with murmurs, and I look at Enzo for a reaction, but he doesn't show any.
I am so fucked up. How am I supposed to survive the wilderness without a wolf? Enzo will be so mad if I let him loose.
"You can go to your assigned rooms and rest. On Monday, we head to the forest," the man says, and the crowd starts to disperse.
I need to tell him the truth but he will be so mad. It's already too late. Oh! Goddess.
Enzo leads me to our room, but before we can open the door, two women appear in our way, and my heart sinks.
I knew this would end badly.
"I didn't know I would meet you here, Enzo," The woman drawls, and I remember Hunter said she wants to divorce her current husband and come back to Enzo.
"Excuse me," Enzo mutters and sidesteps her, but she places her hand on his shoulder to stop him from walking further.
"I am surprised you chose a woman without a wolf though. How are you going to win the elections with a weak rant beside you? Didn't you find out why her mate rejected her first?" I stare at the two women and feel so hateful.
They just had to ruin everything for me.
I look at my sister and she smirks. She must be happy to cause trouble for me.
"Is it true?" the man turns to me, spotting a hard scowl on his face and I bite my lip so hard.
"Of all the people, seriously?. You are supposed to know better," The bitch continues to talk, and I pray she just drops dead.
"Leave," Enzo grumbles, and I don't wait to confirm who he is talking to. " Fuck" Enzo cusses behind me and I hear him hit the wall.
I bet those bitches are happy now.
What should I do now?
