Chapter 7
Anora’s POV
I, Anora Svalia, a princess of the realm of hell watched in fascination as the woman stood before the most vile demons that were in the entire seven circles of Gehenna without an ounce of fear in her face or eyes. I was so impressed at the fact that she was just standing there with those strange dark metal weapons without even doing anything. She was waiting and I could see that she knew that they were nothing other than prey to her.
And then this crazed warrior smirked.
She smirked and I knew that she was completely insane.
I had hunted boars and bears when my father, Bartholomew, a Duke of Hell, had given me permission to go and visit the human realm to collect a few souls and come back. They were big and terrifying too. All wild animals were powerful in their own way but they could be handled when necessary. What concerned me at this moment was that the demons standing before did not understand the danger that this human, that too alive human, possessed to them.
That’s why I was staying back here, behind the vegetations close to the barracks that allowed her to watch what was going on without actually letting her be seen. Because unlike those idiot demons I had no intention of challenging wild animals or insane women petting the most foul animals of all.
Of course my attitude was probably why after even being ninety-seven years of age, I will still not married. Most princesses were married had a brood of nightmares by the time they crossed fifty years of age, but not me. But since I was a Princess no one could send me anywhere I did not like without incurring the wrath of my father. I had been sent to be trained in fighting and even then the commander had stuck me to the stables.
“I said that I would fight for our Lord and master but I never said that I am willing to die for him.” I had informed him and Just the look in the old bastard’s eyes had told her he was going to do his best to keep her right where she was. Cleaning up horse sheets and other soldiers and demons weapons. Fun!
A hand greased my bag and immediately unship the premises short sword turning quickly before I could be struck down first. But my wrist was caught mid swing and the arm was held in place. I immediately recognise the cold calculating eyes of her favourite priestess and laughing said,” I can't believe they let you out Sister! Don't you have candles to light?”
“I told them carefully that I had much more important things to do.”
I pulled my arm away and resheathed my weapon. “How many did you maim and how many did you slaughter?”
“None, obviously,” Mara leaned around the walls of the barrack so she could see what was really happening out in the front.
“Really?”
“I am not a beast, Anora, so I don’t feel the need to slaughter the sheep.”
I smiled at her and teased,” I really don’t understand why you chose to become a priestess in Hell, Sister Destruction.”
“It is my calling. I need to guide these souls to the right path. Just like you are a princess.”
“You don’t have to be nasty!” I seethed.
Mara smiled at me and then pointed at the demons standing there thinking of attacking the woman who was still smirking at them. “They,” she stated,” are doing something decidedly stupid.”
“Perhaps our war lords will save them and protect them.”
Mara shook her head and sadly sighed. “When it comes to stupidity of this standard, human demon and gods, all kinds are all same. They have no place for stupidity.”
A dark monstrous female born of both man and demon. She could suck the souls of men from their bodies and would murder babies in front of their wailing mothers. The travelling bar seat that the female was nine feet tall and had hooves instead of feet. A gold and diamond incrusted crowns smeared in the blood of her millions of victims had been permanently seared to her skull by one of the many dark gods and goddesses she worshipped. To enter her corrupt palace was to know that he would die but not until calamity had finished sucking the marrow from your bones while demon troubadours played instruments made of human flesh and sinew.
Remembering all that I had heard about Calamity I frowned a bit and looked at the woman standing there. I saw her and found that this woman boldly stared at the demons. Her white hair with pink strands were billowing about her pace as the baby stood beside her licking her off. She had been covered in demon bits and she had no idea.
My goodness to live in such level of ignorance and not have any clue! She appeared to be about close to six feet and her shoulders were large, but not overly. But one thing was very clear, this woman showed strong well used muscles. What I was saw was a warrior woman, just like it was fabled for her to be.
“Go away, the bitch of Calamity! Get away from hell! Go away and never return here!”
There was a long pause after that as the demons snarled at her toothily and she cocked her head and asked,” Umm…or what exactly?”
Mara snorted beside me. It should have been frightening but it was so damn ridiculous that I had to slap my hand on her mouth as well.
“Or we will do such things that you have been doing to innocent people through all the realms!” said the leader and then they all sniggered. It was like the demon had used the worst words possible and I held my breath to see what this woman would do.
The insane almost hysterical scream that emitted from her throat itself pushed back the demons several feet. But instead of retreating the demons with lizard like bodies charged forward towards the Mad woman who just stood there breathing deeply standing and from I could say, she was seething. Seething with rage. She stood close enough to move.
The first blow took a leg. The next a hand. Another attack had her burying one sword in the demon’s chest, before she yanked it out and spun away from the piercing power of the axe. Her blades moved fast and her body easily followed. She slashed and cut and cut some more, splattering pieces of demon all over the damn red soil.
The lead demon silently charged towards the woman when her back was turned as she kept on killing like a well oiled machine. She dispatched two others with her huge axe spear and another one with a brutal blow to the chest.
The lead demon commander was moments away from taking off her head when suddenly she turned to face him and brought her two weapons together with a clang and took off his head in a brutal strike. The woman watched impassively as the head dropped on the ground and rolled across her foot. The demons’ black ichor splashing from his open neck and chest on her face.
Two more demons wisely stopped from attacking her instead combined their magics and then threw them at the queen in full force. A bright red light, powerful slammed into and through her causing her to stop mid swing. She closed her eyes and took a short deep breath. That was when her entire body was covered in blue flames and then she opened her eyes once more and snarled.
“Anora! She needs to go back to the land of living now…do something!” Mara whispered from beside me.
