Chapter 7

Mia froze for a moment, then suddenly went berserk and charged at Olivia. "Mason is my husband! What kind of crap are you talking about? I'll rip your mouth apart!"

Everyone in the Thomas family, except for Chase, watched the scene unfold with amusement.

Chase couldn't stop the rampaging Mia.

Just as Mia was about to reach Olivia, a figure stepped in front of her.

The sunlight filtered through the leaves above, casting a warm green hue on his white clothes.

He took a step forward, forcing Mia to take a step back.

The sunlight was intense, burning hot, but his lips curled into a cold, desolate smile.

Christopher shouted, "Mia, what do you think you're doing? Are you really going to get smug?"

Mia retorted, "Christopher! How dare you call my name? Have you forgotten how you used to kneel and beg in front of me when you were a kid? Now that you have someone backing you, do you think you can do whatever you want?"

"Do you even have the guts to back up your threats?" Christopher was trembling with anger.

From behind him, Olivia's voice, cold as frost, cut through the air, "Christopher, raise your hand and slap her."

As if possessed, Christopher raised his hand like a puppet and slapped Mia's sharp, bitter face hard.

Mia fell to the ground, her face stinging with pain. She clutched her stomach and began to scream, "Murder! My baby, my baby!"

Olivia stepped forward, looking down at her stomach.

Mia wore a blood-red dress, but her face was skeletal, struggling under the sunlight to crawl away.

Countless fine red threads pierced through her body, binding her to Mia's stomach.

Black-red blood slowly oozed from her hollow eye sockets.

The resentment grew heavier.

From hatred, a vengeful spirit was born.

Time is running out, little lucky star.

Olivia said, "Don't worry, I'll make sure you're returned to your mother."

The blood in the skeletal girl's eye sockets flowed even more fiercely.

It gushed continuously as she struggled to bow her head in gratitude.

Mia had no idea what Olivia was looking at, only feeling that her gaze was so cold it seemed to pierce through her.

She couldn't help but shrink back a little. "You just wait, the Taylor family won't let you get away with this."

The courtyard fell silent again. Olivia's cold gaze swept over the onlookers, and she sneered.

Everyone felt a sense of impending doom.

That night, Olivia learned that Hayden had frozen the bank accounts of the younger family members and made them kneel in the family museum to reflect. The Thomas family was filled with complaints.

Outside the family museum, Chase declared, "If you disturb Ms. Smith's sleep, you'll face the consequences."

Everyone instantly fell silent.

Later that night, as Olivia slept, she opened her eyes, the moonlight reflecting in them like a cold pond.

Suddenly, a warm breeze brushed her face, something sliding across her skin inch by inch.

In the darkness, Olivia grabbed the mischievous hand and yanked it hard, revealing Christopher's face in the dim moonlight.

Upon closer inspection, he looked different from how he did during the day.

Olivia stared into his eyes. "Second Ancestor, is that you?"

"Maybe. I don't remember. But your blood, it's very sweet." Christopher leaned closer, his gaze greedy as it fell on her neck.

He slightly opened his mouth, revealing fangs, the bloodlust in his eyes growing stronger.

Olivia extended her slender neck, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Do you dare to drink my blood?"

Christopher only leaned in to sniff, not daring to bite down.

He sat on the edge of the bed, his pale face cold.

"Why has the Second Ancestor become an ordinary person?"

At this question, Christopher laughed, glancing sideways at Olivia. "Really? You don't remember?"

Olivia's face remained expressionless. "I never remember insignificant people."

She had lived too long and met too many people; not everyone was worth remembering.

Christopher looked hurt. "The Ancestor has no heart."

"You have a heart? You tricked me into a blood contract, causing me to sleep for centuries!"

Olivia slowly reached out, her cool fingertips gripping his neck, easily pinning him to the bed.

"I tricked you?" Christopher raised his hand to wrap around Olivia's waist, pulling her closer, a self-mocking smile on his lips. "The consequence of tricking you is that I can never reincarnate. Isn't that price a bit too high?"

Olivia tightened her grip, a murderous glint in her eyes. "I'm sure the Christopher from today doesn't have the Second Ancestor's memories. How did you possess him?"

Christopher was stunned. "That's a secret, Olivia. You need to hurry; my time is running out, too."

As soon as he finished speaking, pain shot through his neck.

Olivia bit into his blood vessel again, drinking his blood.

Christopher let out a soft groan, his hand falling from her shoulder as he lost consciousness.

Soon, Olivia's eyes turned blue again. She stood up slowly, looking at the unconscious man, wiping the blood from her lips with her thumb.

His blood was getting weaker, tainted with someone else's essence.

This made Olivia quite displeased.

The next morning.

Chase arrived at Olivia's courtyard and saw someone lying there.

He leaned in and called, "Christopher, Christopher?"

He patted Christopher's face.

Christopher groggily woke up, his body feeling like it had been taken apart and reassembled, aching all over.

He looked at Chase in confusion and asked, "Why are you in my room so early?"

Chase was speechless. "You're the one sleeping in Ms. Smith's courtyard. Is the Feng Shui layout here better?"

He looked at the sky, then the ground, finally resting his gaze on Christopher with a hint of mockery.

Christopher finally realized the source of his soreness. He quickly got up, his joints cracking.

He waved his hand and said, "Go find Ms. Smith. I'm going back to sleep."

Chase grabbed him and said, "Your mother is here."

Christopher froze, looking towards the entrance.

Cleo walked into the courtyard, looking distraught, her eyes red from crying.

Christopher ignored his pain and ran to her. "Mom, did that jerk bully you?"

Cleo didn't want to show her vulnerability in front of Christopher, but she couldn't help but say, "He won't have a child with me."

"Mom, we..." Before Christopher could finish, the door opened, and Olivia stepped out. She wore a long dress, her hair pinned up, her stunning eyes like a landscape after the rain, soft and hazy, her figure graceful.

Olivia asked, "Mrs. Taylor, when did Mason start to change? Is the Mason now really your husband?"

These words exploded in Cleo's ears.

Details she had never considered before flooded her mind.

All her suspicions seemed to be confirmed in an instant.

Cleo's body trembled, nearly losing her balance.

Christopher saw their expressions and understood something. His face darkened immediately.
