Chapter 14
Sebastian'sPOV
Quickly covering Evelyn’s mouth, I try to come up with a lie on the spot. Evelyn, however, struggles to speak, making muffled sounds regardless of my hand blocking her ability to speak.
I know she’ll regret it if her mother finds out.
“Evelyn Walters, you have five seconds to answer me,” she demands, and I groan as I roll my eyes to no one in particular.
Not gonna happen, Madelyn, sorry.
Thinking on my feet, I grab the phone out of Evelyn’s grasp but don’t turn her camera toward the commotion.
I put on the best fake voice I can muster and clear my throat.
“Hey, Madelyn, it’s Sebastian. Sorry about the darkness. Sister dearest got drunk at another party. She’s currently throwing up in the bathroom.”
I see Madelyn cover her mouth with her hand. “Oh God, is she okay? Can I talk to her?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you. I assure you she’ll be in good hands.” Aren’t I incredibly hilarious.
“Okay. Can you just tell her I called?”
“Oh, of course. Don’t worry, it’s all gonna be fine. Go get some sleep, okay?”
She sighs. “All right. goodnight, Sebastian. Thanks for watching over my daughter.”
Before I have a chance to respond, the woman in my bed bites down on my hand as hard as she can. Shit, that hurt! I pull my hand away with a rapid motion, releasing her.
“Night!” I end the call quickly, dropping the phone like it’s on fire.
I shake out my hand to deal with the pain. Fuck, that was much worse than I could have imagined.
“Damn, Princess, what sharp teeth you have.”
A drunk giggle escapes her. “The better to eat you with, my dear!”
I groan. This woman is a goddamn piece of work, that’s for sure.
“I’m so hot right now.” Evelyn starts removing her outfit right in front of me. Well, that’s one way to entice me, that’s for sure.
But, of course, there’s a knock on my bedroom door. Is the universe enjoying the torture it’s putting me through? Because I’m about to start fighting the universe back.
The knock sounds again, louder this time. “Hey, Seb! I gotta talk to you. Let me in.”
William. Obviously, he and the rest of the planet all need something from me whenever she’s around.
I grab a half-naked Evelyn and start pushing her to my wardrobe. She continues to squirm as we go, but I have the upper hand, seeing as I’m not drunk.
I rip open the door to the wardrobe, shove her in, give her an angry kiss, and tell her to stay quiet.
“Shhh,” I instruct. She shushes back, and I roll my eyes as I close the door to my closet. When did my life become hiding Evelyn?
Thankfully, she seems to be listening and doesn’t make a sound as I make my way to the door. “Yeah, I’m coming, man; hang on.”
I pull open my bedroom door, my drunk roommate leaning against the opposite wall. “Took you long enough.”
My patience is currently paper thin. “What do you want?” I snap.
A mumble comes from Evelyn in the wardrobe, and I tense my shoulders.
“The hell was that?” He asks, trying to look in my room.
I roll my eyes. “Porn. I’m watching porn. What can I do for you?”
My roommate smiles at me, like he thinks there’s a hidden meaning in my lie. “Huh. You know, I’ve been thinking about it, and I’ve realized your relationship with Evelyn’s been…odd.”
“And that means?” I ask sharply.
William shrugs but doesn’t answer.
Okay, now I’m starting to worry about Evelyn in the damn closet. What if she’s suffocating? Or worse, she’s going to cause more of a commotion?
“Well, thanks for this very interesting chat, man. Now get the fuck out.”
As I begin shoving William away, he asks me something about Evelyn. Desperate to get rid of the guy, I tell him, “Yeah, sure, whatever.”
Finally, he’s out of my room, and I take long strides to the closet to let her out.
But when I get the door open, I see Evelyn on the floor. Curled into a ball and asleep.
This woman is truly something else. What the hell am I supposed to do with her?
Evelyn's POV
I awake with a massive headache and hangover, and I’m in a room I have no memory of. What the fuck?
Whose room is this? This isn’t my dorm, and I don’t see Olivia around me.
As my eyes linger around to put some pieces back together, I notice very little in terms of decorations or wall decals.
And that’s when my eyes land on him.
Sebastian. Asleep next to me, curled up in his blankets.
No, no, not again, anything but this.
Identical to our first night together. I stayed at his apartment all night? What is wrong with me?!
I try to summon the information I need. What happened last night? How the hell did I get in here?
I start to move off of the bed, but that’s when I realize that I’m completely and utterly naked. You’ve got to be shitting me. I’m going to have to kill Sebastian.
Wrapping myself in one of the blankets, I slowly try to sneak away. However, that only lasts a few seconds. Before I have a chance to really stand up, Sebastian stirs, sending me into a panic where I fall off his bed and onto the floor.
I groan in frustration and the worsening of my headache. Great, just great.
Sebastian’s face appears over the side of the bed, stifling a laugh as he gives me a pointed grin. “Good morning, sis.”
“Fuck,” I let out.
“Yeah, you said it. You gave me quite a hard time last night; do you remember that?”
I blush instantly, upset at my drunk self for whatever the hell happened. “I was drunk. Let me guess. You were sober, and you had sex with me when you should have refused me.”
He raises his right eyebrow. “Refused you? Why should I refuse you?” he retorts.
I start to stand back up slowly, the pain growing in my head. I’m now kneeling in front of his bed as our faces are only inches apart.
He seems to start leaning in to kiss me. Refusing to do this shit again, I close my eyes and cover my lips with my hand. Nope, I will not be giving him the power any longer.
However, instead of kissing me, I hear a recording start of Sebastian’s voice. I quickly open my eyes and listen in horror as Sebastian and I have a conversation I have no memory of.
Sebastian speaks first. “Evelyn, I need to ask you something.”
“Okay.” Oh God, is that me? I sound world’s away from here.
“Do you really want me? And give me a verbal yes or no because I want to know you mean it.”
“Yes.”
“Okay. You owe me three promises then, are you able to do that?”
“Three promises, okay.”
“The first condition is that you absolutely, under no circumstances, cannot date any of those other guys. You got it?”
“Yes, no dating. Got it.”
He pulls the phone away from me, and shock runs through every part of my body.
“So, nothing actually happened between us?” I ask him to confirm. I thought I’d done something irreversible.
“Huh. You seem disappointed,” he muses.
