Chapter 8

With Olivia's agreement with the doctor, the Smith family received weekly calls from the hospital reminding Olivia to attend her prenatal check-ups.

One month later.

Aiden and Harper sat on the couch, their faces dark with anger, watching Olivia call for a rideshare to go to her check-up alone.

"What are we gonna do?" Harper paced anxiously and said, "I've been secretly giving her stuff that could cause a miscarriage, but instead of showing any signs, she seems to be getting healthier!"

Aiden added, "In another month, her belly will be too big to hide. When people notice, where will the Smith family's reputation go?"

Aiden stubbed out his cigarette, his voice filled with hatred, "If it weren't for you stopping me that day, I would've kicked her out of the Smith family for being so shameless."

Harper sighed, "If you really kicked her out, not only would the Smith family's reputation be ruined, but we'd also lose the marriage arrangement with the Wilson family."

Aiden's anger flared, and he shouted at Harper, "Then what do you suggest we do now?"

Seeing the situation deteriorate, Luna spoke up thoughtfully, "Dad, Mom, please stop arguing. If necessary, I'll take on the marriage with the Wilson family."

"What?"

"Luna, don't act impulsively."

Aiden and Harper spoke in unison.

"Yes, Luna," Aiden continued, "You made it clear you didn't want to marry Chase. How could we force you?"

Harper held her hand, comforting her, "Luna, don't worry. Your father and I will handle Olivia's situation. We won't let you suffer."

"If there were another way, you wouldn't be so worried," Luna said, her lips pressed together, her gaze firm as she looked at Aiden and Harper. "I've already made up my mind."

Luan continued, "But we've already changed the marriage arrangement once. Changing it again... No matter how the Wilson family treats me, I won't complain."

Luna added, "I just hope you both can live peacefully, and that Olivia can settle down after giving birth and help manage the family business."

Luna's eyes reddened, her expression more heartbreaking than if she had burst into tears.

Aiden frowned, taking a deep drag on his cigarette, and said, "Olivia did such a thing, and she still has the nerve to manage the Smith family's business? I'll call the lawyer to change the will right now!"

"Dad, you can't say that," Luna said, secretly pleased but still looking sorrowful. "We don't even know who the father of Olivia's child is. Without some family assets, how will she manage on her own?"

Aiden said, "She can manage however she wants, but she won't get a single cent of the Smith family's assets. Who knows which man she'll give it to."

With that, Aiden called the lawyer to change the will.

The Smith family had two daughters, and Aiden and Harper had already made a will. They held 35% of the shares, with the remaining 65% split between Olivia and Luna, Olivia holding 30% and Luna 35%.

This time, Aiden transferred all of Olivia's shares to Luna, making her the largest shareholder in the Smith Group with 65%.

Holding the updated will, Luna's eyes were still red, but a satisfied smile played on her lips.

With these shares, she would see how Olivia could compete with her in the future!

She went to her room and called Chase.

Luna said, "Chase, about the marriage arrangement..."

"Luna, you don't need to say anything. No matter who marries me, my heart belongs to you," Chase hurriedly assured her.

Luna played with her nails, inwardly cursing him as a fool, but outwardly she was sweet. "Chase, you're so good to me. There's something I can't hide from you anymore."

She lowered her voice and said a few words, causing the person on the other end to explode with rage, "What? Olivia is pregnant?"

Luan continued, "Chase, my parents are trying to protect Olivia's reputation and don't want this to be public. You..."

Before she could finish, the line went dead.

Luna smirked, tossing her phone aside, and lay on the couch, admiring the newly updated will.

A few minutes later, a loud crash came from the study.

Aiden's furious roar nearly lifted the roof. "Olivia, get back here right now!"

Olivia had just finished her check-up when she received Aiden's call. Puzzled by his sudden outburst, she noticed people around her giving her strange looks.

"Is that her?"

"Seems like it."

"She's the Smith family's daughter, right? Engaged but still messing around with other men."

"You don't get it. Rich people have all sorts of wild games."

"With a body and looks like Ms. Olivia Smith's, it's worth it to have a go."

The comments grew more brazen, and Olivia, both angry and confused, stopped in her tracks, ready to confront them when her phone rang again.

She checked it.

The scandal had erupted!

News outlets were all over the story of Olivia's pregnancy out of wedlock.

Chase had personally commented on his social media: "I have never been intimate with the Smith family's daughter. I don't know where her child came from."

Almost simultaneously, the Wilson family announced the cancellation of their marriage arrangement with the Smith family and terminated all cooperation.

Reporters swarmed the Smith family home.

Olivia had no choice but to sneak in through the garden gate.

As soon as she stepped into the living room, a glass flew at her.

The glass shattered against Olivia's head, blood immediately streaming down her face.

Her right side was stained red, her bangs sticking to her forehead, making her look even more terrifying against her smooth skin.

Aiden pointed at her from across the room, shouting, "You have the nerve to come back?"

Olivia wiped the blood away, her hand turning crimson. "Didn't you tell me to come back?"

Her expression was calm, her face showing no emotion.

Aiden was nearly driven mad by her demeanor. "Olivia, you dared to cause trouble with the Wilson family. Are you trying to disgrace the Smith family even more?"

Olivia smirked, her gaze shifting to Luna, who couldn't hide her joy. "How did the Wilson family find out? Did someone inform Chase? Why don't you investigate before blaming me?"

Aiden was speechless, unable to respond.

Luna sighed dramatically, "Olivia, I know you're unhappy with the marriage arrangement, but you can't use this method to break it off. You're putting the Smith family's reputation at risk."

Aiden, who had been hesitant, exploded with anger at her words, "Who else would inform the Wilson family?"

Aiden added, "Don't think I don't know. You don't want to marry Chase; you want to marry the father of your child, don't you?"

"In that case, get out of the Smith Villa. From now on, you're no longer part of the Smith family. Marry whoever you want."

"You have nothing to do with the Smith family anymore!"
