Chapter 105

Anila’s POV

I was soaked when I woke up. It looked like I had wet the bed. I could still feel Damien inside of me even though it was technically a dream… but at the same time, I knew it wasn’t.

Warmth spread across my cheeks, and I couldn’t help but smile as I touched my fingers to my lips. I could still taste him on my tongue. I told him he should voice his wants and go after what he wanted… he certainly did not disappoint.

I wasn’t sure what time it was when I woke up, but I knew I couldn’t have been too late if nobody bothered to wake me up yet. I decided to get out of bed and take a hot shower in the bathroom before I got dressed. Or maybe I needed a cold shower, I thought to myself as I blushed and stared down at my wet bed.

This was so embarrassing. I walked into the bathroom and turned on the water to the giant shower. There was also a very nice-looking tub that I would have to utilize at a later time. I stripped off my pajamas, they were also soaked, and my core still throbbed from the feeling of Damien. That had to have been the best orgasm I’ve ever had and that thought worried me a little. I had sex with my other mates as well, but this was so different. This was filled with love and anger, and a ton of pent-up passion.

I stayed under the hot water for a while, allowing it to soothe my body and calm my inner animals. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and felt myself claiming as well. I grabbed some of my soap and lathered my body. After rinsing off my body, I spent time washing my hair.

Once I was good and clean, I stepped out of the shower and grabbed a waiting towel, wrapping it around my body.

I realized I didn’t bring my dress into the bathroom with me. I walked out of the bathroom but then ran smack into what felt like a wall. I quickly realized it wasn’t a wall; it was Jaxon. From the motion, I accidently dropped my towel, and it went straight to the ground.

I stood frozen, unsure if that actually happened or not. Jaxon stared down at me; his eyes darkened as he took in my appearance. I was completely naked, standing in front of the Dragon King, completely frozen and exposed.

He opened his mouth to say something, but then quickly closed it as he bent and grabbed my towel off the ground for me. As he wrapped the towel around my body, his fingers brushed the side of my breast, and my breathing hitched. His eyes darkened even more as his movements to cover me stopped only briefly.

Neither of us said anything but I saw him swallowing hard as his thumb gently caressed my breast. My nipples pebbled from his touch and his eyes were practically glowing purple as he fought to keep control of his inner dragon.

“J…Jaxon…” I finally managed to find my voice, bringing him back to reality. He blinked a few times as if he wasn’t sure where he was, or if he was coming out of a trance. He cleared his throat and wrapped the towel firmly around my body, shielding me from his view.

“You should be more careful,” he told me. “Why are you naked?”

He looked at me accusatorily and I gawked at him, my brows furrowed.

“Because I was taking a shower and I forgot my dress,” I told him.

I stepped around him to grab my dress off the bed and he watched me as I maneuvered around the room, grabbing everything that I was going to need before turning to the bathroom.

“Why were you in my room?” I asked, Peeking at him from over my shoulder.

“I came to get you. There’s a festival tonight,” he told me.

I nodded.

“So, I’ve heard,” I told him, lifting the dress. “I’ll only be a minute.”

I walked into the bathroom and released the breath I hadn’t known I was holding. I closed my eyes, my entire body thrumming with anticipation from just his soft caress alone. This multiple-mate thing was going to be the death of me. What was wrong with me?

I quickly finished getting dressed and I left the bathroom. Jaxon was still in my room, his eyes fixed on my bed. My cheeks immediately flushed. Had he known why it was wet? I stepped in front of him, trying to shield his view of the bed and he seemed to snap out of it, looking at me. When he saw the dress on me, he looked oddly satisfied. It was a beautiful dress, and I felt like a princess wearing it.

“Perfect,” he said. “Ready to go?” He asked.

I nodded, excited about this festival.

We didn’t have to travel far from the palace to reach the festival. It was in the middle of the town and my jaw dropped when I saw how many people were attending the festival. I didn’t realize there were that many Dragon Masters around. Some of them had their dragons on leashes and were walking them around the busy streets. There were tables on the sides of the road with a ton of different foods and fun items being sold. There was loud music blaring through the streets with people dancing and laughing. There were kids too! For some reason, I didn’t think there would be kids here, but then immediately felt stupid thinking such a thing.

There were arts and crafts tables set up for the kids and those who wanted to join in on the creativity. There were game booths as well and it looked like a parade was about to start at any moment because of the floats that were being prepared.

“Wow…” I breathed, looking around at all the streaming lights and the floating lanterns. It made the underground look as if we were actually above the ground and outside. I didn’t feel at all claustrophobic… it was comfortable and out in the open. “Do you have a festival like this often?”

“Once a year,” Jaxon told me.

He seemed as if he was in a fog like his mind was elsewhere. I peeked up at him through his lashes and frowned as he took in his surroundings, nodding at those who bowed to him.

“Is everything okay? You seem off,” I pointed out.

“More off than usual?” He asked, raising a brow.

I smirked and nudged him with my shoulder.

“Kind of, yes,” I told him. “If it’s about what happened earlier with the towel thing… don’t worry about it. It was weird for us both, but we can move on from that, right?”

He was quiet for a moment as if he was contemplating what to say next. He settled on a nod.

“Yeah; we can move past it,” he muttered, but he didn’t sound completely convincing.

I frowned, but my attention was taken when someone approached me with a skewer of meat and veggies.

“A Kabob?” the woman asked.

I nodded and took the food from her.

“Thanks,” I said to her.

She bowed and hurried away. I turned to face Jaxon who was watching me as I took one of the meat slices off the stick and placed it in my mouth. Ti was so delicious; I couldn’t help the moan that escaped my lips.

Jaxon’s eyes darkened upon hearing it, but I didn’t care. This food was delicious. I took another piece of meat and brought it to his lips.

“Open,” I said, teasingly.

He raised his brows at me, and for a second, I didn’t think he’d comply. But then to my surprise, his mouth opened. I laughed as I put the food on his tongue, and he chewed it slowly. His face stoic as he thought about the flavors he was tasting.

“Good, right?” I asked as I took another bite.

“It is.”

We shared the rest of the kabob as we walked through the street. We gazed at all the fun things that were being sold at different booths and he even bought me a necklace. It was a moonstone necklace, and it looked gorgeous with simmering diamonds. When he put it on me, his fingers brushed across the nape of my neck, making me shiver. I turned to face him, my smile wide.

“It’s beautiful, thank you,” I told him.

He nodded as the music in the background changed. Others started to dance in the middle of the street, and I laughed at the sight of them. As I started to bob my head and move my hips in the same rhythm, I noticed Jaxon watching me with a bemused expression.

“Would you like to dance?” He surprised me by asking.

“W…what?” I asked, my eyes growing wide.

Without replying, Jaxon grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the dancing crowd.

“What are you doing?” I gasped.

“Dancing,” he said over his shoulder.

“I don’t dance!” I tried to protest, but it fell on deaf ears. He spun me around and held me in his arms as he did the dancing, and I pretty much just followed his lead. I had no idea Jaxon could dance; then again, I didn’t know much about him. But I didn’t take him for someone who had a lot of fun. He seemed like the business type and from our brief conversations, he didn’t smile a lot. But while we danced, he looked in his element and almost casual.

After a few minutes, the shock of it faded and all I could do was try my best to keep up with him, and laugh, I did a lot of laughing.

The kids that were doing crafts came to join us as well and they each took my hands and started to twirl me around. I couldn’t remember the last time I laughed like this.

The kids spun me around until I was dizzy, and I twirled right back into Jaxon’s embrace. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me steadily as he gazed down at me. We were both breathless and my laughter had finally died down. He was gazing down at me with an expression that seemed almost foreign to him, but it looked as if he was admiring me.

He brushed a strand of fallen hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear. My body warmed from the feeling of his fingers on my cheek, and I licked my lower lip as I gazed at his slightly parted mouth.

“Come with me,” he told me, breaking the trance between us. He took a hold of my hand and pulled me along with him.

“Where are we going?” I asked him.

“They usually set up dragon riding at the stables for these festivals,” he told me.

“Wait what?” I asked, my eyes growing wide.

Was he saying what I thought he was saying?

“It’s time that you learned how to ride a dragon!”
