CHAPTER SIX

AURORA'S P.O.V

The room immediately fell silent. My eyes were wide open in shock, same as everyone's. The man in front of me turned to face me. His handsome face a cold mask as he raised an eyebrow.

"Is that true? Are you his ?"

I hesitated for a few seconds.

"Well...No...yes..n..no." I ended up sputtering. Then in a panic, I mouthed to Lucian, "What are you doing?"

He ignored me and kept facing the man.

"You heard her, she's mine. Now step away from her."

The man shrugged.

"I don't think so, she wasn't so sure when she answered. So how do I know what's true and false."

"Goddammit Kieran Darius!" Lucian growled, his fists balled and his eyes gleaming with a hint of black. "Stay away from matters that involve me, you are just a guest here. Stick to being that."

Wait a darn minute! He's Alpha Kieran? From the Silver claw pack? What is my fate with Alphas and what Is he doing here, in this pack?

He helped me after some men tried to get frisky with me, just after I left Lucian.

Alpha Kieran growled, I felt his body vibrate in front of me.

"In case you have forgotten, I'm an Alpha and until you finally become an Alpha, you have no right to speak to me that way."

The two men growled low in their throat, the tension in the room kept getting tighter. I stood at a loss at what to do, until I noticed Clara's panicked eyes literally screaming at me to do something.

"Um...ahem...Excuse me, alphas."

Two pairs of eyes shifted to me.

"As much as I appreciate your help, I think its best that you leave.." My eyes flitted to Lucian. "...both of you."

"But Aurora..."

"Can't you just listen to me for once. Please just leave, you're making things worse."

He backed down, his eyes returning to their blue color. His lips were tight as he nodded at me before glaring at Kieran.

"Are you alright?"

I looked up, Alpha Kieran was watching me with a careful gaze, his silver eyes so piercing. Remembering he was an Alpha, I stepped back and lowered my head.

"I'm fine. Thank you. Alpha."

"Raise your head." His voice was soothing and soft. I looked at him again. He was staring at me as if he found me interesting.

"So...him? Is he really your mate?"

This question again. I sighed and bite my lower lip.

"It's...its complicated. I don't want him and I really don't want to talk about it."

He shrugged. "Alright. I'm Kieran. Kieran Darius. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to get back to work, if that's okay with you."

He smiled, a soft smile that light up his face.

"Sure, I'll see you later. Bye."

I watched silently as he left, he turned back to look at me before leaving.

"What the hell was that?" Clara exclaimed, her eyes going round.

"I'm really sorry, I have no idea what happened today. I'm sorry."

"Yeah, yeah. No harm done. As long as nothing was destroyed." She nodded absently while surveying the place.

Aside from the upturned table and the bottles of beer on the floor, everything was okay.

Suddenly, I felt a pang of pain tearing into my head.

"Ouch!" I winced, clutching my head.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I think so." I winced again. "Look Clara, I don't think I can stay till the end of today, can I go home now? I don't feel too good."

"Hmmm..." She bit her lips, eyes narrowed.

I pleaded, "Come on Clara, its just for one day."

She glared at me.

"Fine, you can go. But make sure you come back early tomorrow."

"I promise. Thank you." With a grateful smile, I took my jacket and headed out for home.

"Hey Aurora!

I heard a familiar voice and turned to look.

"Talia!"

She was waving furiously while rushing towards me, a grin on her face.

"Where are you off to early, aren't you working today?"

"Yeah no." I chuckled weakly, "Had a rough day so I'm going home early."

A worried look crossed her features.

"Are you okay, for Clara to let you off so early, it must be serious."

I scoffed. "Its nothing, just a slight headache and a bit of fatigue. By tomorrow, I'll be good as new."

"Are you sure?" She looked skeptical, her eyes roaming my face. I did my best to put on a cheery smile.

"I'm sure, stop mothering me. You're my best friend not my mom, duh."

She laughed out, "Fine, fine. If that's what you say. I'll come see you later okay?"

"Okay bye." I bid her goodbye and rushed back home, my head hurting even more.

I barely had any awareness as soon as I popped myself on my shabby bed and fell into a deep sleep. It wasn't a nice sleep, because I kept on turning and turning until I woke up. I felt very uncomfortable as soon as I woke up and my throat felt very tight.

"Water." I groaned as I tried to stand up but ended up falling back down.

"Weird, it feels hot." I muttered after successfully seating up. It was getting hotter, and I could smell smoke.

"Smoke!!!"

My eyes popped open only to see that my house was in fire.

"Fire!!!

But how? How did this happen. Panic filled me as I jumped on the bed, peeking out the window to search for an escape route.

"Help!!! Someone please help me!!!" I screamed till my throat started hurting.

The fire was now in my room, I couldn't stop coughing. The only way to escape would be to run out through the window but that area was already ablaze in fire.

Shift and Jump. My wolf screamed at me.

I stared at the fire, fear in my chest.

"But I haven't shifted in a long time...and my wolf is too weak to run."

Just trust me. She said.

"Okay." I took a deep breath because my shift always took time and they hurt.

"Here I go."

I crouched and waited for the shift to happen when suddenly the roof began to cave in on me. Without thinking I screamed and jumped out the window. The heat of the fire engulfed me but I could barely feel it as I ran deep into the woods. I finally stopped after I felt I was safe.

"Wait a minute." Something felt off. I looked down at myself and gasped. I was in my shifted form and my fur was white.

Pure white.

I don't remember having white fur!
