Chapter 4 4
Chapter 4
Lucian's POV
My mate ran away from me! My fucking mate ran away from me! How the hell did I let that happen? Even after we searched the whole club and the areas around it, we found no trace of her.
"I wish I had marked her immediately i saw her." I growled as I paced.
"Maybe she was overwhelmed." Griffin, my beta and best friend tried to reason.
“Find out everything about her, I mean every little thing.” I ordered, he bowed and scurried away.
“I'll find you soon enough mate.” I murmured to myself.
“Here.” Griffin threw a set of files and pictures on my table.
“She is a lower rank member, pack outcast, she works as an attender in a local bar not far from the pack border.” He explained and I picked the files up.
“I guessed that was why she ran away, and figured that both of you didn't belong in the same class.” He said while I was looking at the files.
I sighed and dropped them on the desk after I found out the state of her life.I needed to talk to her.
'Aurora Steel.'
“Do you have the address of where she lives and works?” I asked him and he nodded.
He wrote them on the paper and gave it to me.
“Who else knows that I found my mate?” It wasn't the right time for the pack to know.
Considering how my father was, he would do anything to ruin the moment and of course use her to threaten me.
“Joe, one of the elders' sons, the strippers. I think that's all.”
“Get to them, pay them or threaten them to keep their mouth shut. I don't care." I ordered.
I couldn't let my father, Alpha Desmond find out that I have found my mate.
I slept in a hotel last night, too bothered to home. But now,I was dressed and showered, I got into my car.
“To the estate?” My driver asked.
“No, to the training ground.” I answered and rested my head as I smoked.
He nodded and turned the car around. The training ground was empty when I arrived. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of cricket and the birds chirping. I pulled off my jacket and shirt, the cold and harsh breeze blew on my skin.
I bent down and shifted into my wolf form,I charged at the training dummies hitting them with all the strength I could muster as if there was no tomorrow. Sweat dripped down from my body like water that flowed down from a running tap.
I trained hard and bitterly until my wolf couldn't take it anymore.I shifted to my human form weakly and laid weakly on the floor.
“You've got to be kidding me!” I heard a familiar voice and I looked to see who it was.
Griffin walked to where I was, I sighed and looked away from him then sat upright. He threw a bottle of water and a napkin at me.
“Your mannerism is different Lucian, why go to a club when you know you would work yourself to death?”
I didn't reply, he gave me a hand when I wanted to get up.
“I need to get back.” I told him, seeing that it was almost dawn.
“What's on my schedule this morning?” I asked as we were heading to the car.
“Alpha Desmond has set a meeting with the elders by 10 this morning.” He replied and I paused.
"I still need to find her."
"Deal with this one first before that." He urged.
I looked at him and he gave me the knowing look, he knew how much I didn't want to get tangled in the pack affairs but with the way my father was, it wouldn't be easy.
“Let's go.” I gritted my teeth in anger and entered the car.
I knocked on the door and waited for a response when I didn't get any,I stepped inside dad was seated, he turned the swivel chair around,he frowned when our eyes met. I gave a slight bow and straightened my back.
“Heard of your recent exploits with the elders' daughters.” He flung some pictures at me.
“Good morning to you too, father.” I retorted and didn't pick them up. At least he doesn't know of my mate.
“Your recklessness and nonchalancy will cost you your position. That you are my son doesn't mean I won't let another take your place!!” He fired.
“I don't want to be like you and you can't force me.” I said calmly.
I saw his eyes darken, my words cut through him. He regained his composure and clenched his fist before glaring at me.
“That's why you are weak.” He spat coldly.
I bit my lips hard not to allow his words get to me, he was always like that he wasn't going to change or see me in a different light.
The door opened and I looked back, and my mom walked in with a tray of coffee. She offered me a smile which I returned, I stiffened when I saw a bruise on her cheek.
My eyes bounced from her to dad, I saw the way she was careful around him as she served him the coffee.
He hit her again.
“I WARNED YOU NEVER TO TOUCH HER AGAIN!!”
I roared, feeling my eyes darkening. Even though, my mom screamed at the top of her voice but that didn't stop me.
"Lucian! Please don't! I'm begging you!"
I was just a mere breath away from punching him. But I held myself back, my clenched fist hanging in the air. As for dad, he had a smirk on his lips, his eyes narrowed with disgust.
"Like I said. You're such a weakling."
