Chapter 3
Aurora's POV
"We need to get you to the hospital!!" He growled, veins popping on his head and arms.
I tried to tell him no, but the only sound I could make were weak whimperings. It hurt so much. Why did it hurt so much?
He scooped me in his arms and lifted me from the ground and ran to where his car was. I whimpered as the pain intensified. He opened the door to his car and placed me inside. I kept coughing blood and I was scared that this was how I would end.
He drove out like a bat, he kept on making calls and I sensed the way he panicked.
“You…will be.. fine, I promise.” He glanced at the back to check on me.
I looked away from him as I held onto my chest, before I knew it we were already in the pack hospital. Lucian hit the brake and came out of the car to help me out,the door to my side opened and I could feel my eyelids closing, I was going to black out!
And before I knew it, I blacked out but not before hearing Lucian's thundering roar, calling my name.
I heard whispering and I felt someone touching my face and my lips, my eyelids fluttered and I opened my eyes. My eyes scanned around and I saw that I was in the hospital on the bed and with an IV on my hand.
“I'm…. alive.” I whispered.
“She is awake!” I heard Lucian's voice.
I turned my head sideways and saw that he was right beside my bed. He held my right hand and squeezed it softly, planting a kiss on it. I felt a jolt of electricity pass through me when he did that. I didn't have the strength I would have pulled it away from his touch.
“Allow me to check her vitals, Lucian.” I heard another man say.
I looked behind him and saw a young man in a lab coat, must be the pack doctor of the pack. Lucian stepped aside so the doctor could check me.
The doctor said I was fine and I just needed to rest through the night. After he had assured Lucian that there was nothing wrong with me, he left, leaving only me and Lucian in the room.
“Hey.” He whispered and pulled a chair to sit next to my bed.
I shut my eyes and swallow my saliva after remembering that I couldn't reject him.
“Reject me. Please.” I whispered without opening my eyes.
“I can't do that.” He replied in a sad tone.
“Why?” I opened my eyes. “I don't want to be with you.” I said coldly and I didn't miss the sad expression that crept on his face when I spat those words. "Stop holding onto this, its nothing to me."
“Is there a reason why you hate me Aurora, have I ever done anything wrong to you?” He asked.
“I want to get some sleep.” I said, ignoring his questions.
“Okay, but firstly you have to eat, I'll get you something from the cafeteria.” He said and stood up.
Lucian covered me properly, he even adjusted the bed for me before stepping out. My dormant wolf stirred in pain at the decision I made.
After I was sure Lucian was out of earshot, I sprang up from the bed and dragged myself out of the room.
“Curse the mate bond.” I whispered as I ran out of the hospital.
Lucian Caught. Only son of Alpha Desmond of the Blood gang pack and next in one to be alpha.
Lucian was the number one on the pervert list, he has no sense of responsibility whatsoever. The rumors about him changing women like his clothings were proved to be a hundred percent true. I didn't blame him though I blame the ladies that helplessly threw themselves at him cheaply.
How the hell was I supposed to accept someone like him as my mate? Never! It's akin to having no mate!.
I went back to the bar the next day to work, though I still felt a bit weak but it wasn't going to stop me from getting money.
"Aurora!"
"Yeah?" I snap back to attention, Clara glared at me, her arms on her hips.
"Customers are waiting for you. I don't pay you to stand there and zone out. Is that clear?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, I just had a lot on my mind." I tried to explain.
She rolled her eyes as she turns away.
"I don't care, just work."
"Fine." I mumble, like she would ever care.
I took a deep breath and headed into the bar, a fake smile plastered on my face as I headed to a table crowded with loud men.
"Hello, what can I get you?"
The men paused their loud chattering as they gave me a once over. My skin bristled from the slimy looks of lust in their eyes. It took everything in me not to turn away.
"Just some beer and maybe...you."
They burst into laughter at the joke.
"Alright, your beer will be right up."
I rushed out, on my way to get the beer.
Just as I placed the bottles of beer in front of them, I felt the place suddenly go quiet. I raised my head.
"Oh shit!" I cursed.
Lucien stood silently at the entrance to the bar, practically glaring at me. Of course I made no move to look at him. Immediately I was done with the men's table, I bolted, or at least I tried to.
"Aurora." He called me, I froze in my step.
I felt him approaching me, I wished I could just run but I had to stay. A large, broad body suddenly filled my vision. My breath hitched, I took a deep breath and could perceive his scent. Wood and spice, mixed with vanilla. Really? Why was I feeling this way. I was panicking until I felt his cold hands under my chin. He raised my face to meet his eyes. Silver eyes stared at me in accusation.
"Why?" He growled. "Why did you run?"
I opened my mouth but then I realized we were in the middle of the bar, everyone was staring.
"Let's go outside." I told him, he agreed with a nod.
I walked fast, stopping at the back of the bar while calming my racing heart.
"Why did you run away?"
"Because I didn't want to stick around."
He frowned.
"What do you mean? We are mates, you are my mate. Your whereabouts have become my concern."
I scoffed and snapped.
"Well you better scrap that thought."
He quirked an eyebrow "Why?"
"Because I'm not accepting you as my mate. I don't want you, okay." His eyes turned stormy and cold but I continued. "Why can't you just leave me alone. I'm asking nicely."
"I'll never leave you alone because you are mine." He growled, stepping closer.
I stared him straight in the eyes.
"Please, reject me. I am never going to accept you."
