Chapter 2

Aurora's POV

Immediately my shift was over, I bolted to the club. I'm sure Clara was already fuming, waiting for me.

I took a cab to the club since Clara had said she would wait for me outside the club.

“Took you long enough.” Clara uttered when I got to where she was.

“I'm.. sorry for keeping you waiting, I had to look for a uniform to put on.” I apologized.

Clara read the instructions to me on how I wasn't permitted to relate with anyone in there, my main business was to serve nothing else nothing more which stuck well with me.

Clara left and I took the back entrance where the other waitress was gathered.I and three other girls were assigned to the VIP room of the club.

As we stepped inside the room to take the guests orders, we were greeted by Intense scent of hormones, alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. The only people in the room were two guys and a group of ladies. And the ladies were naked!

One of the girls stood up and gave me the list of the things they wanted. I bowed, took it from her and turned around to leave but accidentally bumped into someone.

“I'm so sorry!” I bowed and apologized immediately.

When I didn't hear a response I looked up. The glass I was holding fell from my hands, shattering into many pieces as soon as they touched the ground. But I didn't even notice. I was staring into the face of an angel!

He had golden brown hair, dark blue eyes, chiseled jawline, broad shoulders and I felt the exuding effortless power that radiated from him.

But I felt a warm feeling, and his scent too was intoxicating.

His eyes darkened and I fell to the ground and bowed to apologize again but a growl above me made me freeze.

“Such beauty. Damn..." I heard a deep voice mutter. Then with another loud growl,  "MATE!”

I felt my body become cold. Everyone in the room gasped in shock. I was in shock myself. Mate?

"What!"

"Really? His mate?"

"But she's just a waitress!

There was muttering around me. I glanced at the man. Who was he?

He snarled at them, shutting them up instantly.

He faced me again, “Mine.” he whispered and bent down to help me up.

I looked at him, my head in a frenzy at what was happening. A young man suddenly rushed towards us and bowed to me.

"Luna."

"What? Are you talking to...me?" I squeaked, the man nodded. What the hell did he mean by luna? And who was the guy that just called me mate?

A growl suddenly erupted from my supposed mate, he was glaring at the guy. Then he looked at me, his blue eyes searching, then he nodded with a lazy smile.

"The name's Lucian. You'll do as my mate." He made to grab my hand.

“Wait a minute! As in...Al…Alpha Lucian?” I stuttered and he nodded, a smirk on his lips. His eyes were shinning with satisfaction, as if he thought I was going to be over the moon. Well think again.

"No!" I snarled out, dropping my tray to the ground.

He looked shocked and confused.

"What the...!"

I didn't let him speak more, I spun on my heels and ran.

My heart was beating fast as I ran, the wind slashed my face and whipped my hair in a frenzy. But I didn't care, I had to be away from him.

"Why? Why moon goddess?" I cried out in tears once I was inside my room, falling to my knees. "Of all the men in town, it had to be Alpha Lucian? Why would you do this to me?"

Clara was going to be furious with me. I literally ran away in the middle of my working time. I'll be lucky if I still have my job. And even if I do keep my job, I'm sure she won't give me side gigs anymore.

And I was right.

“Seriously!!” She threw a fit as soon as I arrived at the bar, her vice nearly tearing down my eardrums.

“You didn't do a single thing Aurora, I almost had my head cut off!!”

“I'm sorry, something happened.” I bowed my head slightly.

She growled and huffed out a breath.

“Just go back to work, I don't really have the energy to take it out on you this evening.” She murmured and held her head.

I apologized to her one more time before walking out. I didn't mean to run off like that. But there was no way I was facing Lucian and letting him claim me. I mean, the guy was literally a man whore. There's no way on earth I'm accepting him. As I was clearing the leftovers on the table, the door opened and the bell sounded.

I felt it before I saw him. The hairs on my hands and neck rose as this chilling yet warm static coursed through me. Slowly, I raised my head. My eyes landed on him. Lucian.

"What is he doing here? How did he even know I worked here?"

Hurriedly, I looked for an opportunity to escape. Luckily for me, the back entrance was open, so I left the bottles I had been holding on a table and turned to run.

But then, in a flash, Lucian was already in front of me, a glare on his face. I groaned and balled my fist in frustration.

"What are you doing here?'

“We need to talk.” He stated in a stern tone.

"Follow me."

I didn't want to talk here while people were staring. I took him outside, to a corner around the area that wasn't crowded. I'm just going to listen to him, then reject him after he's done talking. No problem there.

“Aurora.” He  called softly, for a minute I was stunned. My name sounded so good on his lips. But I shook myself and glared at him.

“Don't say my name? How did you know my name?” I frowned at him.

“I did my findings.” He answered with a proud smirk.

I scoffed and crossed my arms across my chest, I didn't miss the way his eyes stayed on my breasts a little longer.

"Hey, my eyes are up here." I snapped.

He blinked, cleared his throat and continued.

“We are mates, you are mine. Can't we just start over and get this over with. I'm Lucian Vaughn?”

I flashed my teeth at him in a sneer.

"I know that already and also...over my dead body."

His thick eyebrows went up as his lips curved up into a mocking smile.

"Not giving up. I've had a lot of women, you won't be the one to reject me when I haven't rejected you."

He growled then moved closer to touch me but I swiftly moved back. He  clenched his  hand that was frozen midway and glared at me. He straightened his back and stepped backwards, a cold look on his face.

"You will be my mate, whether you like it or not."

I saw red. Who the hell did he think he was? Ordering me to do what I clearly didnt want. I mustered confidence and turned to look at him, I clenched my fist as I found it hard to utter the words.

“I, Aurora Steel reject you Lucian Vaughn as my fated mate!” I yelled leaving him in shock.

Suddenly, I fell to the ground immediately those words left my mouth. I groaned when I felt a pain in my chest but didn't feel the mate bond snap.

“AURORA!!”

Lucian roared when I coughed out blood.

“You.. stupid woman, you can't reject an Alpha!”
