Chapter 1
Sarah White's POV
A deafening remix of dance music created an explosive atmosphere, mixed with countless cheers and laughter.
I stumbled and ran through the swaying crowd, desperately trying to shake off the man pursuing me from behind.
I clenched my jaw, but my steps were weak and hesitant, and an indescribable feeling spread through my body.
I had undoubtedly been drugged with some vile substance!
Reaching the second floor, I found myself in a quiet, straight corridor with almost no place to hide. Without wasting time, I rushed into the nearest restroom.
The second floor was the VIP area, and the restroom was luxuriously decorated.
I rushed there with burning haste, my steps faltering as I ran. The door of the first compartment opened accidentally at that very moment.
The hand pushing the door looked elegant, slender, and graceful in the pale golden light.
I rushed forward recklessly, involuntarily colliding with a man.
The man was tall; my head barely reached his chest, causing a sharp pain.
A rich, masculine scent hit me, and it felt as if countless tiny claws were clawing at my heart. My face burned as if in a fever, and I felt so uneasy I wanted to cry.
"Move away," Shawn Romano said indifferently, not even looking at me as he pushed the drunkard away.
I finally grabbed the strong man; I would never let him go.
"There are bad people outside, save me..."
Shawn, hearing her voice, frowned in confusion and froze. Arms immediately grabbed him from behind, not letting go. "Can you call the police for me?"
The moment I pressed myself against him, a jolt of electricity shot through me from the depths of my heart, causing me to shudder slightly.
Huh? How... nice!
Before I could give in to the sensation, I was yanked forward, sharply and not so gently.
Shawn wrapped one arm around my waist and pinched my chin with the other, lifting my face from my tangled, long hair.
His eyes, dark and faintly glowing, pierced me.
My porcelain-white skin took on an unnatural flush, my gaze blurred and smoldering. My T-shirt outlined my enticing figure, pressed tightly against him.
"Sarah, stop running. Where do you think you can run off to?" A mocking laugh rang out from outside: "Even if the King of Heaven is here, I still..."
The short-haired man's curses abruptly stopped.
A man of unusually tall stature emerged from the restroom, exuding an air of inaccessibility. His innate nobility and stately presence made it clear he was no ordinary man.
He embraced me without even glancing at the short-haired man.
Frightened by his behavior, the short-haired man froze in place until I almost left the restroom.
He stepped forward with a flattering smile, reminding him: "Sir, this girl is my..."
Before he could finish speaking, a scream like a slaughtered pig erupted from the restroom.
The man with the short hair clutched his groin, the pain sending stars through his eyes.
Only when the terrifying figure disappeared did he reach for his phone with trembling hands.
"Hello..., another man took her!"
As soon as Shawn threw the man onto the bed, two arms grabbed him from behind.
A pair of hands roamed his chest, turning his shirt into a mess.
The room was filled with groans and involuntary sobs.
Listening to these sounds, Shawn's eyes instantly darkened, his lips pursed slightly.
Before his breathing became ragged, he unhooked those clinging hands and tossed me to the other side of the bed.
He straightened up, adjusted his clothes, and casually dialed a number.
"There’s the guy I just kicked in the groin in the restroom on the second floor. Beat him up and then threw him out."
"Huh?" The voice on the other end of the line was more than a little surprised. "To the restroom, man, in the groin. You...?"
A cold smile spread across Shawn's handsome face.
After a moment of icy silence, the other man said seriously, "No problem, I'll make sure you're satisfied."
Shawn hadn't even hung up when I hugged him again.
My muscles tensed, as if a fire had ignited in my lower abdomen.
"It hurts..." I groaned.
The phone immediately dropped.
Shawn hung up the phone in anger, turned around, pinned me to the bed, and gripped those restless hands tightly.
My clear eyes yearned for him, as if ready to pounce on their prey at any moment.
He frowned at me, reaching his limit, and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Move again and reap the rewards!"
The next morning, the room was still dark.
The heavy curtains were tightly drawn, blocking out every ray of light.
I opened my eyes, my body aching as if it belonged to someone else.
The sight of men's and women's clothing scattered across the bed and floor instantly jolted me from my lethargy.
Did I really sleep with the man I'd met in the bathroom yesterday?
Regret washed over me, and I carefully got out of bed, my body aching, and checked the time on my phone: nine in the morning.
I was doomed, late, and doomed to be fined!
I hurriedly dressed, thinking of the strange man still hanging around in the bathroom, and fumbled with my fingers in my pocket, biting my lip in confusion.
Finally, I hesitantly pulled out a handful of change.
Even if it was my fault yesterday, I had to leave something behind after sleeping with someone.
Unfamiliar with such matters, and with only this amount on me, I feared it wouldn't even be enough to split the room bill.
I tossed the money onto the bedside cabinet without counting it, scribbled a few words in a hotel notebook, placed it nearby, and fled the scene of the crime, my head bowed in shame.
Before I reached the main entrance, the bathroom door suddenly swung open.
A tall figure appeared before me, blocking my path, and I froze instantly, still covering my face with my hand, not daring to move it.
He was casually wrapped in a loose robe, the sash tied loosely at his waist, missing a button, revealing a sensual, plunging neckline.
My heart pounded wildly at the memory of the man I'd slept with the night before...
My face flushed as I raised my head.
His physique was surprisingly alluring, the drops of water running down his toned muscles screaming seduction.
My gaze seemed riveted on him, unable to look away.
"Have you seen enough?" A pleasant, cool voice came from above: "Did you remember to cover your face?"
My heart nearly leaped out of my chest when that voice rang out, and a cold sweat broke out on my back.
It couldn't be such a coincidence.
I raised my head.
The man before me, his black hair still half-damp, and his beautiful, icy face seemingly tinged with the moisture of a shower.
The moment their gazes met, my racing heart seemed to stop for a moment, and I stepped back abruptly.
"How could it be you..."
