Chapter 1

The fact that his phone constantly rang irritated him, it kept distracting his thoughts and he didn't like that. "Alex, what?" He snapped.

"Change your location Ivan, your brother just sent men to drown you," Alex informed. "I know, I just spoke to them and I told them I will do it myself," He revealed, surprising Alex.

"You are going to let him kill you?" Alex slowly asked. "Why shouldn't I?, There really no point, he already killed our parent and I know he only kept me alive till I was eighteen, well, according to the will,"

"But now, what's left, I have no one, no love interest, I even feel it's a drag to be alive," Ivan mumbled.

"What about me?" Alex asked, Ivan had been his best bud from childhood. "Well, you are quite popular, you will cope, now if you would excuse me, they are currently waiting for me to die," with this, he ended the call, throwing his phone away, jumping into the water, the next minute.

Seeing he was allowing himself to sink, his brother's men laugh to themselves, leaving him alone to die.

However, the splash had startled a red head, who was sitting at the river bank. Without hesitation, she had jumped in, holding the boy by his hands and struggling up.

"Why?" Ivan asked why he was up, but freezes when the girl turns towards him. He had never seen anyone as beautiful as this, her hair and eyes were red, pairing with her perfect Ivory skin..

"Was she a goddess or a fairy?" He wonder as he gaze at her.

She did some hand gestures that he couldn't understand. She pulled him to the shore, her eyes looked at him, worried that something would happen.

"Are you okay?" She had asked, using her phone. Then it's occured, that she was using sign language for him. "Why?" He thought, as he slowly nod, answering her questions.

She smiled warmly at his reply, dragging him along, to a nearby food stand, there she pointed at the menu, paying for dinner.

She offered it to him, but he could only look at it. This was the first time he was eating out and to be at a food stand, he felt a bit off.

However, she did something surprisingly, taking a bit from his food. "It's not poison," She texted.

"You are mute," he voiced, watching her expression fall. She immediately stood to stand up but he was quick to grab her hands.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in a wrong way," he apologies immediately. "Please what's your name?" He asked, using the only sign language he could learn from his maid.

"Scarlett," She text. "Plus your hands a bit funny," She added, smiling a bit. "Scarlett, I was expecting a more lovely name for a goddess like you," he teased, making her a red.

Her reaction was cute, she made him felt peaceful, he wanted to be around her. Now he thought about it, he had never wanted anything in his life before, but now, he wants her.

They wander around for a bit, till he sleeps, while resting on her shoulder, however, when he wakes up the next day and Alex stands in front of him.

"I thought you were going to kill yourself?" He asked, angrily staring at him. "I did," Ivan muttered.

"But she,"he paused, turning to find himself alone. "I met a goddess yesterday Alex, I have never wanted anything in my life but now I want her, I love her," He confessed.

Alex was going to teased him but seeing his eyes, he sensed his friend was really in love.

"Then, go for her," Alex urge. "I can't, if I return with her, my brother would only use her to get me, I need to work on myself, I need to be able to challenge my brother, in fact, I need to be strong enough, so I can protect her, I want to live for her," He admitted, tears running down his eyes.

"Ouch, that you would rather stay alive for a woman than me but what's her name, so I can keep the boys off her," Alex inquired.

"Scarlett," Ivan answered, acting as if he had been charmed. "Her last name, do you know how many Scarlett's there are out there?" Alex snap's.

"You didn't ask for her last name," he slowly realized. "How can a lady make you so dumb overnight?" He mocked.

"At least her description," he muttered. "Ivory skin or maybe white, the moon messed witt my gaze but she had beautiful red hair and red eyes, average height, I'm guessing 5'6, she is also mute," Ivan describe.

The last part actually got Alex to leave his notepad and look at his friend. "You feel in love with a mute," he asked, baffled.

"Just find her, plus she was wearing an expensive diamond earrings, so start with the rich families," Ivan added, he had known this because he noticed how diamonds paired well with her skin.

"Take me home," He commanded, entering the car ahead of Alex.

"You, how are you still alive?" Luke asked, surprised to see his brother back in the villa.

He had already called the police to launch the missing case and his lawyer were there, plus he had plan to celebrate later in the day.

His eyes glared at the men he had giving the job to, as they tremble in fear. "I should be asking you brother, why are you still in my property?" Ivan challenge.

"I turned sixteen yesterday, meaning all the wealth now belongs to me and since I didn't die of natural causes, I owe everything," Ivan went on, seating on the chair.

Luke couldn't help but notice his brother had a new look in his eyes, his pessimistic brother now hope for something.

"How long do you think your arrogance will keep you alive?" Luke question. "Hopefully, long enough to see your end?" Ivan challenge.

"Something happen last night, you seem different but don't worry, the new hope you think you have, I will drain it?" Luke threatened.

"I like to see you try?" Ivan challenge. "Now if you don't have anything to say, get out," he commanded, summoning as much courage as he could.

"This is just the start brother, never again would I let you have your way," he thought
