Chapter 10 Kicked Joshua Away in Anger

"Mommy?" Cleo was confused for a second, but quickly caught on. Her expression returned to normal as she opened her arms and rushed into Isabella's embrace. "Mommy, hug."

"She's your mom?" Joshua looked at Cleo with doubt, then turned to Isabella.

Hearing her identity being questioned, Isabella straightened her back unhappily and shot back directly, "Excuse me, sir, you're holding my child and questioning me?"

A flash of surprise crossed Joshua's face. He looked at Cleo crying her heart out in his arms, his gaze somewhat hesitant, but he still put Cleo down on the ground and said coldly, "I didn't mean that."

"Good then." Isabella seriously took Cleo into her arms. "Cleo, don't cry anymore. Let's go."

Isabella carried Cleo, walking with her back straight, each step full of confidence.

When she reached the corner, Isabella suddenly leaned against the wall, bit her lower lip lightly, patted her chest, and took deep breaths.

She couldn't believe she had just been so bold in front of Joshua. Thank goodness, thank goodness she was still alive.

She really went all out for these two.

"Ms. Taylor, are you okay?"

"I'm not okay. I'm worried sick about you two. Did you see the look in your dad's eyes just now? It scared me to death."

"Ms. Taylor, you did really well just now." Finn appeared from somewhere and was now standing in front of them.

Finn had been there all along, but Ava had told him that when Joshua was around, he needed to hide and not let Joshua discover him.

"Finn, I completed the mission. Aren't I amazing?"

"Yes, Cleo is amazing."

"But there are people watching Mommy, so Cleo couldn't help Mommy escape. Finn, Ms. Taylor, Mommy said it's too dangerous and told us to leave first."

Isabella nodded. "It is too dangerous. Your dad was already suspicious just now. If you two show up again and your dad figures it out, we're done for."

After all, the two children had distinctive features - Cleo looked like Ava, and Finn looked like Joshua.

"Then we'll leave first. Ava has a phone and can contact us. We'll think of a long-term plan." Finn said.

"Okay."

Seeing Cleo safely taken away by Isabella, Ava breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately Isabella came in time, otherwise she really couldn't have held on much longer.

The crowd gradually dispersed, and the surroundings quieted down, leaving only Mia's aggrieved crying.

"Joshua, I didn't push that child. Why is everyone accusing me? I really just wanted to talk nicely to that child." Mia bit her lower lip, looking extremely wronged.

"Doesn't Ms. Wilson love playing the victim? What's wrong? Can't take it when it happens to you?" Ava asked with a light laugh.

"I didn't." Mia denied it flatly, then immediately turned it around. "Ms. Davis, why are you slandering me like this? What did I do wrong?"

"Slander? In Ms. Wilson's view, everyone in the world has slandered you, and only you are right."

"You!"

"Am I wrong?"

Ava smiled slightly. "Ms. Wilson, you should stop crying. Aren't you embarrassed to argue with a little kid? Right, Mr. Thomas, aren't you embarrassed too?"

Joshua's face darkened. Ava's lips curved up, one eyebrow raised slightly, full of provocation.

Angry? Good!

The angrier you are, the happier I am!

In the end, Ava was still dragged out of the hospital by Joshua, who grabbed her wrist.

"You're crazy! Let go of me. Don't pull me around. I have nothing to do with you. I can walk by myself."

"Get in the car." Joshua commanded coldly, brooking no argument.

Ava was furious. She glared at Joshua, too lazy to even struggle, opened the back door, and dove into the car.

"Am I your driver?"

"Sit in front."

What was Joshua's problem? Even getting in a car, she had to listen to him?

Ava really wanted to kick him away, though of course she didn't have the guts.

Ava got out of the back seat, opened the passenger door, got in, and slammed the door shut.

That sound made even Samuel, standing nearby, feel sorry for the car.

Mia weakly emerged from behind, walked to Joshua's side, her eyes full of tenderness and shyness as she looked at Joshua. "Joshua, where should I sit then?"

Joshua's passenger seat had been taken by Ava.

"Sit in Samuel's car. She's got some issues, and her words are harsh. Better not let her bully you again!"

"Joshua, you're the one with issues!"

Joshua's face looked unpleasant. Although Mia felt unwilling inside, seeing the conflict between Joshua and Ava, she felt much more balanced.

Perhaps letting them stay together would make them fight even more, and Joshua would grow to hate Ava even more.

Wasn't that exactly what she wanted to see?

Thinking this, Mia smiled slightly, put on an obedient expression, nodded, and got into Samuel's car.

In the car, Joshua had one hand resting on the window, driving with one hand in a casual posture. Cold wind rushed in from outside, coating his stunningly handsome face with a layer of coldness.

The car was exceptionally quiet. Ava looked at the direction the car was heading - back to Regal Estates. Was he going to lock her up there again?

No!

Ava resisted from the bottom of her heart. She took a deep breath and couldn't help but speak up. "Joshua, what will it take for you to let me go?"
