Chapter 1
Lahat ng tao ay may mga panahon ng pagsubok sa buhay, ngunit para kay Zhang Hang, dumating ito ng napakabilis at napakabagsik.
Kahapon lang, sa araw na lumabas ang resulta ng kanyang pagsusulit sa kolehiyo, nagkaroon ng aksidente sa sasakyan ang mga magulang ni Zhang Hang. Si Zhang Hang ay isang ordinaryong tao lamang. Ang kanyang mga magulang ay nagpatakbo ng isang maliit na tindahan ng almusal upang suportahan ang kanyang pag-aaral. Ang kanilang pinakamalaking pangarap ay ang makapasok siya sa isang tanyag na unibersidad upang magbigay ng karangalan sa pamilya. Alam din ni Zhang Hang ang hirap ng kanyang mga magulang, kaya't palagi siyang nagsusumikap sa pag-aaral at laging nangunguna sa klase. Sa kalagitnaan ng kanyang pagkalasing, narinig ni Zhang Hang ang sunod-sunod na tunog ng elektronikong boses, parang kausap ang isang matalinong telepono. Ngunit ang kanyang telepono ay isang lumang modelo na flip phone, paano ito magkakaroon ng ganoong katalinuhan?
Wala na, mamamatay na rin lang ako, bakit pa ako magtataka ng marami?
Isang malakas na tunog ang narinig, at ang mukha ni Zhang Hang ang unang bumagsak sa lupa. Ngunit hindi niya naramdaman ang sakit. Hindi dahil sa epekto ng alak, kundi dahil nang tumayo siya, napansin niyang hindi siya namatay mula sa pagbagsak mula sa ika-dalawampung palapag, at parang nawala pa ang kanyang kalasingan, bumalik ang kanyang kamalayan.
"Ano ba ito, pati mamatay hindi pwede?"
Tumingala si Zhang Hang sa mataas na gusali at nagbulong ng isang reklamo. Nang akmang maglakad siya, napansin niyang may kakaiba sa kanyang katawan!
Oo, may kakaiba. Una, naramdaman niyang lumakas ang kanyang balanse, parang may dagdag na suporta ang kanyang katawan. Pangalawa, nang makaramdam siya ng kati sa kanyang puwit at subukang kamutin ito, laking gulat niyang natuklasan na may tumubo siyang kalahating transparent na buntot!
Tama, isang buntot na halos isang metro ang haba at kasing laki ng hinlalaki!
"Nagtatalon lang ako, naging unggoy na ako?"
Hinawakan ni Zhang Hang ang kanyang buntot na may magandang texture, naguguluhan: Pinaglalaruan ba ako ng langit?
"Binabati ang host sa matagumpay na pag-implant ng sistema. Ang sistemang ito ay gagabay sa iyo upang maging pinakamagaling na chef sa buong mundo!"
Sa gitna ng kanyang pagkalito, muling narinig ni Zhang Hang ang elektronikong boses na narinig niya habang bumabagsak mula sa gusali.
"Sistema? Chef?"
Hinawakan ni Zhang Hang ang kanyang hindi bilugang batok: "Ano ba itong kalokohan?"
Habang nagsasalita, tumingin-tingin siya sa paligid upang hanapin ang pinagmulan ng boses, ngunit napansin niya ang kanyang kalahating transparent na buntot na kumikilos-kilos, hindi niya makontrol. Biglang narinig niya ang malamig na elektronikong boses: "Hindi mo na kailangang hanapin, ang sistemang ito ay nag-simulate sa pinaka-kailangan mong anyo at hindi maaaring baguhin."
"Ano ba, kailangan ko ba ng buntot?"
Dahil may kaalaman si Zhang Hang sa mga laro at nobela, naintindihan niya na pagkatapos niyang tumalon mula sa gusali, misteryosong na-bind siya sa isang sistema ng chef. Ngunit sa mga nobela, ang mga sistema ay kadalasang nagiging bahagi ng utak o nagiging singsing o pulseras, hindi nagiging buntot!
Hindi ba ako naging unggoy nito?
"Wala na akong mukhang ihaharap sa tao!"
Habang umiiyak si Zhang Hang, tumakbo siya papunta sa isang malaking bato. Mas mabuti pang mamatay na lang kaysa mabuhay ng ganito kahiyain...
"Ang sistemang ito ay hindi nakikita ng iba maliban sa host!"
Sa gitna ng kanyang aksyon, biglang nagsalita ang boses mula sa buntot: "Tarantado, ang sakit nito, gusto mo bang iligtas ang mga magulang mo o hindi?"
