Chapter 9
Hannah's POV
"Good." His voice was husky and sexy.
I closed my and stood on my tippy toes as I pressed my mouth to his. His sexy full lips were slightly hooked. He raised his hand to hold the back of my head, and he kissed me back. Hard.
(3 days later)
“Liam!!” I screamed as Liam walked into the palace, followed by Alpha King Sebastian.
I couldn’t believe he actually managed to get my brother out of the hospital and to the palace. Then again, he was the Alpha King and there wasn’t much if anything, he couldn’t do. I wondered if my father and Naomi knew that Liam wasn’t in the hospital anymore. I wanted to laugh at the thought of their faces once they realized they no longer had the upper hand over my brother’s life. But I was so emotional and happy to see Liam that I couldn’t contain myself.
Tears sprung from my eyes as I wrapped my arms around my little brother. He was only 19 years old, a year younger than me, but he still had the mind of a child due to the disability he was born with.
He stared at me blankly for a moment, then broke into a grin.
“Hanny?” He spoke the nickname he gave me so easily and happily. I chuckled and wiped away the tears that washed over my cheeks.
“I’m so happy you’re here,” I cried to him. “How are you feeling?”
“Hungry,” he said, rubbing his stomach.
I chuckled, but then instantly had a pain in my stomach. I worried that they weren’t feeding him properly. Knowing my father and stepmother, they probably told the hospital to feed him the bare minimum. I cringed at the thought.
“Of course, you are,” I told him, between my freshly formed tears.
Sebastian stepped beside me and looked over at a maid that was waiting for orders nearby.
“Please bring a fresh plate of food to Liam’s room right away,” he ordered; she curtsied toward him and went straight to the kitchen.
He turned to the butler that manned the door.
“Bring Liam and his belongings to his new room,” He ordered; the butler bowed and grabbed the one bag that Liam had with him.
“I’ll accompany them as well,” I told Sebastian.
I almost expected an argument, but he just nodded in an understanding way.
“I’ll alert the doctors of his arrival,” Sebastian said as he walked in the direction of the palace’s infirmary.
I walked with Liam and the butler to Liam’s new room, which wasn’t far from where Sebastian’s room was, thankfully. The butler dropped off his belongings and asked if there was anything else he could do for us. I thanked him and sent him on his way; I just wanted to spend time with my brother.
I tucked Liam into his new bed, and he seemed to enjoy his surroundings and he looked so comfortable.
“I can’t believe you are here,” I whispered to him as I sat at his bedside. I held onto his hands tightly; he looked exhausted. I wondered if he slept at all while he was in the hospital.
“Hanny…” he whispered, closing his eyes as sleep started taking over him. “I miss mommy…”
Tears well up in my eyes as I squeezed his hands tighter.
“I do too, Liam,” I whispered in return. “I miss her too.”
…
(Amy)
An auction was being held in the kingdom’s gallery that anybody who was anybody would attend. Amy wouldn’t miss such an auction even if she was paid to miss it. Now that she was seeing someone who had actual money, she was going to bid to her heart’s content.
Directly after the celebrity party a few weeks ago, she dumped Thomas. She didn’t believe for a second that he wasn’t trying to get into Hannah’s pants. She remembered the way he was looking at her and practically drooling over her. He paid Amy no attention while Hannah was around and the thought of it infuriated her. Once Nancy mentioned that she caught them talking, she knew that Thomas was probably the one who initiated the conversation.
Hannah was too proud to approach Thomas; especially while that dangerous Alpha King was lurking around. If he caught Hannah flirting with her ex-fiancé, he would have killed her on the spot. She wasn’t that stupid.
Then again, she was stupid enough to marry the Alpha King in the first place; just because she didn’t want her brother to die.
Pathetic, Amy thought to herself.
The thought of Thomas was almost irrelevant now though. She met someone new, a few days ago, who is the most promising suitor for her. He’s not only extremely handsome and good in bed, but he also is extremely wealthy.
Lucas stood beside her as the auction began and she could hardly take her eyes off his broad structure and chiseled features. She felt like Thomas when he drooled over Hannah; she was drooling over Lucas. His face remained expressionless though as he watched the bid unfold around him.
Amy saw Hannah standing beside the Alpha King across the gallery. She was staring at something on the bidding table. It was a red ruby bracelet with diamonds between each ruby. Amy loved red rubies and she knew that Hannah shared her love for rubies as well.
She knew Hannah was going to bid for that bracelet.
“2 million,” she heard Hannah’s voice through the crowd.
Most of the crowd silenced; Amy felt red in the face.
“5 million,” Amy shouted, stepping forward.
Lucas tensed from beside her, but Amy paid him no attention. It’s not like he didn’t have the money.
Hannah caught her eyes, narrowing them.
“10 million,” Hannah said loudly.
“20 million,” Amy shouted, her jaw tightening.
“25 million,” Hannah said with a smirk.
“32 million,” Amy said through her clenched teeth.
The crowd gasped and the auctioneer silenced everyone.
“That’s the total value of the bracelet,” he explained to her. “Is that your final bid?”
“Yes,” Amy said quickly.
“Alright. The red ruby and diamond bracelet goes to this young lady with the bid of 32 million dollars.”
Amy smirked at Hannah who was no longer paying her any attention. Instead, she was looking at her phone with a small smile on her face. She turned away to take a phone call.
Lucas grabbed onto Amy’s arm with force; she was startled by his strength toward her as he pulled her through the crowd and toward the back corner where there were limited people.
“What the fuck is wrong with you,” Lucas hissed as he threw her into the corner. “We’ve only been together for a few days, and you are already wasting away my money.”
“Lucas…” she tried to explain but before she could utter another word his hand went across her face.
SPLAT!
…
(Hannah)
I returned from my phone call, and I wanted to laugh with joy. The bracelet I bid on against my sister was a bracelet that I had designed myself. because of that, a portion of Amy’s money goes to me. I couldn’t believe my plan worked. I wasn’t the type of person who would scheme something like that against her, but she deserved it.
I knew she would have her eyes on it if I expressed my interest in it as well. She couldn’t resist beating me in something, but the jokes on her because she fell into my trap, and I beat her without her even knowing about it.
I scanned the auction to try to get a glimpse of her smug face, but I couldn’t find her. I wondered where she disappeared to.
It didn’t matter; I turned away from the crowd to face the front of the auction. The next auction was a sapphire necklace with a sterling silver chain and small diamonds outlining the sapphire gem.
My eyes widened and my breathing got caught in my throat.
It was gorgeous; one of the most beautiful necklaces I had ever seen.
I must have made some kind of sound because Sebastian was staring at me curiously.
“Do you like that necklace?” He asked, he had a smile that I didn’t recognize and I couldn’t tell if he was mocking me or not.
“It’s beautiful,” I admitted.
I pulled my eyes from him to stare at the necklace again.
Sebastian stepped forward before anyone had the chance to bid.
“55 million,” Sebastian shouted through the crowd.
Everybody was shocked, including me. There were gasps from almost everyone in the auction as they stared up at Sebastian, who towered over them. My mouth nearly dropped to the ground as I stared up at him.
“Sold!” The auctioneer said without hesitation.
I heard murmurs going through the crowd; everyone fixated on Sebastian. They were whispering amongst one another that he seemed to be doted to his new Luna. I felt my cheeks redden at their mention of me and how Sebastian must really love me.
It made me smile, however, part of me couldn’t help but wonder how long I could live by the side of the tyrannical and cruel wolf king.
I thought of his behavior during this past full moon.
Would the next one be the time of my death?
