Chapter 133

Sebastian

“I won’t ask you again to get out of my way,” Sebastian said in a low and threatening tone. Henry stood in front of the house that supposedly belonged to Lila; Hannah and Wrenley were inside.

“And I won’t tell you again, you aren’t wanted here. Go back to your pack and leave Hannah alone,” Henry said in return, folding his arms across his chest.

“She is my luna,” Sebastian growled. “I’m not leaving without her.”

He didn’t trust for a minute that Henry was telling him the truth; he knew Hannah better than that and knew that she would never refuse to see him. It was nearing nightfall; tomorrow was the full moon and he was already starting to feel his madness taking some effect. He worked hard to maintain himself, but he knew how badly his wolf wanted to take control and tear Henry apart limb by limb.

“She doesn’t want to see you because she knows what you did,” Henry said, shaking his head with dismay.

Sebastian had no idea what he was talking about.

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“She watched you through Lila’s crystal ball; you killed her brother in cold blood,” Henry answered.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes at him, still unsure what he was talking about. He hasn’t seen Liam in days; not since he went to the hospital with Hannah. He could still feel the pain that Liam endured from the underworld, so he knew for a fact that Liam was still very much alive. Whatever they showed Hannah, wasn’t the truth.

This made him want to see her even more badly.

“Get out of my way,” Sebastian said, stepping toward him. “I need to speak with her.”

Henry blocked him from going any further.

“If I were you, I’d turn back now. Crossing me would be a huge mistake,” Henry said with a smirk.

He was making Sebastian’s blood boil. Sebastian tightened his fists, trying to refrain from punching him in the face right then and there. Henry’s smug face was asking to be punched; actually, it was asking to be torn apart by his wolf’s teeth. All Sebastian was seeing at that moment was red. He took in a steady breath to try to control himself, but he feared he would soon lose control if Henry didn’t get out of his way.

Henry didn’t seem phased though; it was like he wanted Sebastian to lose control. Just so he can prove his point to Hannah. But Sebastian wasn’t going to give him that satisfaction.

“I see you’ve made our jobs much easier.”

He heard an unfamiliar female voice coming from behind Henry. They turned and saw a young woman standing before them. She must have been Lila, the one who couldn’t be trusted. She came into view and Sebastian sucked in a sharp breath.

She was holding Wrenley.

His baby daughter was cradled in his woman’s arms without a single fear in the world. There were also no signs of Hannah nearby. He’s assuming there must have been something around this property that was blocking him from her. Which explained why he couldn’t mindlink her.

But seeing this woman holding his daughter made a growl escape his lips.

“Such a precious little girl you have here,” Lila breathed with a fond smile as she looked at Wren. Then she looked back at him. “Unless you want something to happen to her, I suggest you do exactly what you are told.”

“Unhand her,” Sebastian growled.

“I know you have the scepter on you. It was smart of you to bring it.”

How did she know that? Sebastian kept it tucked in his jacket and it was unseen to them. She pulled out a small, green, crescent moon emblem from her back pocket and tossed it at him.

“Attach that to it,” she ordered.

He wasn’t going to take orders from someone he didn’t know and didn’t trust. He could feel his wolf about to shift without control; he was growing even more furious with her level of audacity. All he could think about was getting Wren away from this woman.

“I have your daughter’s life in my hands. Do as I say, and she won’t get hurt,” Lila growled.

Gemma was right when she said Lila couldn’t be trusted. She was holding Wren tightly and she started squirming uncomfortably. Fury was rising through him. But he did as she said and took the scepter out of his coat, he attached the emblem to the scepter, and he felt it pulsating under his touch. Something was happening and he wasn’t sure what it was. The moonstone itself started to grow warm to the touch, it looked like it was starting to glow.

“Now hand the scepter to Henry,” Lila ordered.

That was the last thing he wanted to do. Henry took a step closer to him and held out his hand to the scepter. Sebastian couldn’t keep his eyes off Wren; he was doing everything he could to stay in control, but his wolf was growing stronger and more furious by the passing second.

“I would do as she says,” Henry muttered. “She does have your daughter after all.”

Sebastian’s jaw tightened to keep his canines from releasing. He handed the scepter to Henry who scurried backward as soon as he had the scepter.

“Excellent,” Lila said with a sly grin. “Once Hannah does her part, the portal will open, and we will all get what we want.”

Hannah.

What the hell were they doing to her?

Sebastian couldn’t control himself any longer; he shifted into his wolf, releasing Erik. He snapped his large jaw in their direction, growling loudly through the night air, allowing his voice to echo through the empty streets. He dug his large claws into the ground, shaking the ground around them. Sebastian was the largest wolf in the kingdom, and he knew he could take them both out easily, even if one of them contained magic.

The only thing Sebastian could think about at that moment was protecting his family. Henry also shifted into his wolf, and he appeared pathetically smaller in comparison. They lunged at one another, Sebastian’s claws tore through Henry’s fur, and blood splattered around them as they fell to the ground. Sebastian remained on top of Henry and snapped his teeth at him, roaring loudly in his face. Henry went to attack back but he was far too weak.

Sebastian went to swipe his claws at Henry’s face once again, but he was stopped as pain shot through his entire body, nearly paralyzing him. He stumbled off Henry and growled in agony. It felt like his entire body had been lit on fire and someone was drilling into his head. Every muscle in his body seemed to have locked up and he found it difficult to move. All he could do was a roar as loudly as he could and allow the pain to consume him.

It was worse than it ever has been.

Then he saw her face emerging from the house. She was breathing heavily, and her eyes were filled with worry. She paused as she saw them all gathered around the yard. She saw Wrenley first and relief flooded her face; it was obvious that she noticed Wren went missing and was coming to look for her. But then rage appeared on her face as she ran toward Lila.

Lila didn’t put up a fight as Hannah grabbed Wren from her arms. She said something to Lila that Sebastian couldn’t hear because he was too busy being consumed by pain. He roared again, trying to get a hold of himself. That’s when Hannah finally noticed him. Their eyes locked and it looked like she stopped breathing.

“Sebastian?”
