Chapter 12

Amy's POV

“You betrayed us,” their father said in a low threatening tone to Hannah.

Amy couldn’t help but smirk; she didn’t feel bad in the least that Hannah was being scolded. Hannah used her powers as luna to get her brother out of the hospital and placed in the palace. They had just arrived at the palace after her father told Hannah that they needed to speak. Amy was surprised that Hannah allowed them to enter the palace, but she stood before them with her arms folded across her chest and her lips pressed in a thin line.

“I’m protecting my brother,” Hannah said in return.

“You need to get us we asked for,” their father continued. “Or we will report to the Alpha King that you are only his replaced bride.”

Amy wanted to laugh on the spot, but Hannah’s clothing caught her eyes. They were Haute Couture from luxury brands. Hannah wasn’t worthy enough to wear such designer clothing.

“I want your clothing,” Amy said, interrupting her father’s scolding. They turned to frown at her, but Amy was red in the face with fury as she stared at her traitor sister. “You shouldn’t be wearing clothing of such elegance. You don’t deserve them,” Amy hissed. “If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have any of this.”

“No,” Hannah surprised Amy by saying.

Amy clenched her fists and looked over at her father.

“You can’t say no to me,” Amy hissed. “I’m the reason you are here in the first place.”

“I’m saying no, Amy,” Hannah said again, firmly. “You didn’t want to be the wolf king’s luna so you don’t get this clothing.”

She turned to her father, red in the face.

“Are you going to let her talk to me like that?” Amy screeched. “Can’t you punish her?”

Steven ignored his daughter and turned back to Hannah, her eyes small and angry.

“You are still in my pack,” Steven grunted. “I am still your alpha. As your Alpha, I can exile you and your brother from my pack and turn you into rogues.”

Hannah looked shocked by that; she stared around her father’s, trying to figure out if he was serious or not. Amy already knew he was very serious; he’s mentioned this in the past before.

“Once you are exiled from my pack, you are no longer qualified to be the wolf king’s luna,” he sneered.

“What?” Hannah breathed. “You can’t just banish us like that…”

“I’ve done it to your mother,” Steven sneered. “Giving birth to omegas. Embarrassing.”

“Don’t speak of my mother,” Hannah said between tears.

“We had a deal,” their father said, changing the subject. “You get us what we want for your brother’s life. Are you going against that?”

“You can’t touch him,” Hannah shot back. “He’s safe at the palace.”

“How long do you think he’ll be safe here once the king finds out the truth,” their father said with a sly grin.

Hannah’s face reddened and tears began pouring from her eyes.

“Please,” Hannah cried. “Have mercy on your own son.”

He scoffed narrowing his eyes.

“Mercy?” He asked, mockery in his tone.

Just then, Amy watched as her father closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. It almost looked like he was trying to calm himself down before he made a scene inside the palace. But soon, she heard the screaming coming from the second floor. Amy was startled by the sudden sounds. She looked at Hannah who was staring at their father with pure horror on her face.

“Please, dad stop! He can’t handle this,” Hannah begged.

Amy knew their father was using his mindlink to send Liam some intense mental pain.

Their father turned to Hannah who was pleading for him to stop; she was nearly shriveled to the ground in agony.

“As long as I am still the alpha of you and your brother, you will still do as I say.”

Before their father could say anything more, Alpha King Sebastian and a bunch of his gamma warriors showed up. Their father was startled as the grave Wolf King stood before him, his face darkening and fury clear in his eyes.

Amy stared up at him with fear; however, she couldn’t look away. For a moment, she thought it was the power of the wolf king.

He was sexy as hell.

She couldn’t help but think of the man she brought to the auction, who slapped her for getting such an expensive necklace. Her face flushed as she remembered the small crowd that was nearby that was snickering in her direction who witnessed the ordeal. She was humiliated by him; she gritted her teeth angrily.

He would have never come to Amy’s rescue like Sebastian was coming to Hannah’s. it didn’t make any sense. He was supposed to be the dangerous and feared wolf king; he was frightening at that moment, but why was he protecting Hannah.

The wolf king couldn’t possibly love an omega nobody. They were too weak and powerless. Couldn’t he tell that she wasn’t who he was supposed to marry? That she’s only a replacement?

(Steven)

“What has happened?” Sebastian roared, staring at Steven with such hatred that he was nearly cowering to the ground.

“Your majesty?” Steven said, trying to bow but his legs were too weak to support him; making him almost fall over.

“Why is my luna upset?” Sebastian demanded answers as their soft sobs of Hannah were heard through the bodies of gamma warriors.

“This is a family matter, your majesty,” Steven tried to keep his composure.

“As my luna, Hannah is my family. Her business is my business,” Sebastian said through a clenched jaw. “Any enemy of hers is an enemy of mine.”

“I assure you, I’m no enemy,” Steven tried to explain.

“You make a mockery of her, you are an enemy,” Sebastian hissed. “What do you have to say to your Alpha King?”

“I meant no harm to either you or Hannah, your majesty,” Steven stammered.

“You’ve disrespected her and hurt her. As the king, I have warned you. If an alpha misuses his powers, the council of the King Pack would investigate and collect evidence. Once evidence is found, his alpha position would be dismissed,” Sebastian warned.

Steven’s face turned pale with fright as Amy hid her face in her hands, shivering.

Sebastian reached in through the body of guards and pulled out a trembling and snotting Hannah. Her eyes were red, and they were large with fear. Steven wasn’t sure if it was him, he feared, or her husband; but at that moment, she should fear both.

Sebastian wrapped his arms tightly around her, holding her close to his chest. She stared up at him with shock on her face; she seemed confused at his newfound affection. Steven had to hold himself together before he tore her throat out. He knew if he made one wrong move, the Alpha King would be feeding him to the King Pack.

“Stay away from her,” Sebastian warned, his tone low and deadly. “Get out of the palace.”

Steven didn’t bare to say another word. He watched as Sebastian led Hannah away from the area. He motioned for the butler to escort Steven and his family out of the palace grounds. He didn’t argue; he turned away and stormed out of the palace with NaomiNaomi and Amy trailing cautiously behind him.

Before he had a chance to leave the palace grounds, he heard an unfamiliar voice from behind them.

“Before you leave, may we have a word,” the voice said.

Steven turned to see a young man standing before them; he looked no older than 18 and he wasn’t sure what business he had with this young man.

“I’m sorry,” he said with a chuckle, seeing Steven’s confused face. “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Prince Jack.”
