Chapter 112

Sebastian

It happened so suddenly that Sebastian couldn’t even grasp it. One moment he was in a fit of rage, storming around his room as he saw Hannah and Henry kissing in that photo. The next minute, he was in pain so severe that he fell to the ground in agony. For a moment, it felt like an electric shock throughout his body, but then it turned into just flames. He felt like his entire body was on fire, not just the scars on his face. In the months he’s been experiencing this pain, it has never felt this bad before. He was glad Hannah wasn’t there to see his agony.

He grabbed at his bed, trying to maintain himself, but his muscles tensed, making it impossible to stretch his arms. He was completely stuck.

“Aaaaaahhhhhh!!” he screamed out, gritting his teeth and trying to get the pain to simmer down. “Fuuuuccckkkkkkk!!!”

His head was pounding; he wanted to pound it against the wall to put him out of his misery.

“Alpha!” His distorted voice yelled. “What happened?”

Arnold went to touch Sebastian to help him, but on contact, more pain coursed through his entire body, causing him to jerk away violently. Arnold looked startled for a moment before determination crossed his face.

“I’m going to get some help,” Arnold told him. “Don’t move… Hannah will be here soon as well.”

Hannah.

That was the last person Sebastian wanted to see like this. It would only worry her, and she had enough on her plate as it is. She was pregnant and he couldn’t risk anything happening to their daughter.

“Arnold,” he growled through gritted teeth.

Arnold turned back to him before leaving the room.

“Don’t let Hannah see me like this…”

“But…” Arnold tried to protest, but one look at Sebastian’s face and he knew it was better to not cross him. “Okay,” he finally breathed. “If she arrives, I’ll keep her downstairs.”

He turned and ran out of the room.

That was the last thing Sebastian remembered before everything went black.

Sebastian woke up in a dark room. He was lying on the ground, and he had no memory of getting there. He wasn’t even sure where he was or if he was actually awake. His memory from earlier that day was a bit foggy, but he remembered the severity of the pain he had felt. He was relieved that the pain was no longer there, but he couldn’t help but worry about where he ended up.

He glanced around the dark room; not seeing much. He managed to pull himself to his feet and take a few steps in a random direction.

“Hello?” He finally found his voice to speak, but his voice sounded unfamiliar. “Beta Arnold? Conway?”

There was no answer from either of them.

Sebastian swallowed hard as he continued to walk in a random direction. His breathing was getting harsher with each step he took. He wasn’t the kind of person to get nervous easily, but at that moment, he was nervous. There was no sign of his wolf from within him and that’s what was worrying him the most. Whatever was happening, scared Eric away.

“Is someone here?” Sebastian asked.

As he continued to take a few steps at a time, his foot snagged onto something, and he found himself falling to the ground. He heard a light whimper, making him jerk his body around and try to scramble away.

Somebody was here.

“Who is that?” Sebastian asked, trying not to sound as frightened as he was.

The whimpering continued and grew louder.

“Tell me who you are!” Sebastian demanded.

He squinted into the darkness, and he almost saw a faint figure. As his eyes got used to their surroundings, the figure became clearer. It was a boy; he was curled up on the ground with bruises along his pale body. He was trembling violently, and tears were staining his features. He was half naked and the clothes he was wearing were ripped by what looked like claw marks. He had gashes on his back from what looked like whips, but also all over his arms and legs were bloody claw marks.

His hair was ripped from his head leaving his scalp a bloody and bruised mess.

He whimpered louder as he continued to violently shake. Sebastian made his way closer, not believing what he was seeing in front of him. He sucked in a sharp breath and held it for a moment.

“Liam?” Sebastian breathed.

Liam’s eyes opened slightly and peered over at Sebastian; at that moment, Sebastian knew this boy really was Liam.

Sebastian exhaled and rushed over to him, kneeling beside him. He touched Liam’s raw skin and Liam flinched in agony.

“What the fuck happened to you?” Sebastian asked.

Liam opened his mouth to say something, but only air came out, along with a little bit of blood.

“It’s okay,” Sebastian said with a breath. “We are going to get you some help.”

Sebastian went to touch Liam again to try and lift him, but he screamed in pain as soon as Sebastian went to move him.

“Okay, new plan,” Sebastian said quickly. “HELP!!! SOMEBODY HELP!!!”

Sebastian screamed. The look on Liam’s face showed utter fear as Sebastian continued screaming for somebody to help. His body shook even more.

“No…” Liam finally breathed. “Don’t….”

Sebastian stopped screaming to look at him.

“What is it? Who did this to you, Liam?”

“Don’t…” Liam whispered weakly. “He’ll come back…”

“Who? Who’s coming back? Who did this to you?”

“He’s coming back…”

Before Sebastian could ask any more questions, a shadow appeared out of nowhere. The shadow was in the shape of a man, but Sebastian couldn’t see a face. He was a hooded figure with dark energy. His aura gave Sebastian a chill down his spine.

He went over to Liam and bent down. He reached his dark hand out to Liam and placed it on his back, causing Liam to jerk in pain. Just as pain shot through Liam, pain coursed through Sebastian as well. They both screamed out in agony; his entire body curled to the ground.

Whatever was happening to Liam, was happening to Sebastian as well. He was feeling all of Liam’s pain.

“Who are you?!” Sebastian growled at the hooded figure.

But there was no answer; soon, the shadow and Liam were both gone. Leaving Sebastian alone in his own agony.

Sebastian woke in a cold sweat; this time he wasn’t in that dark room, but in his own bed in the palace. He looked around wildly, trying to contain his breath.

“It’s okay, sir!” Dr. Conway said, trying to get him to calm down. “You’re okay. I gave you some pain medication. But there’s still no source as to where the pain came from.”

“Liam…” Sebastian gasped, sweat beading on his forehead and dripping down the nape of his neck.

“I’m sorry?” Dr. Conway asked.

“Liam…” Sebastian repeated as he continued to gasp for breath. “Where’s Liam…?”

“H…he’s at the hospital,” Dr. Conway answered nervously. “Where he’s always been.”

“No, he’s not,” Sebastian managed to spit. “He’s in trouble.”

“What?”

“He’s trapped in the underworld…”
