Chapter 111

Hannah

Henry grabbed the back of my head to steady me, keeping me still as he explored my mouth with his tongue. I could taste the whisky lingering on his lips as he continued to kiss me. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, and everything just felt wrong. His tongue was slimy, and it gave me a nasty feeling throughout my entire body.

I pressed the palms of my hands to his chest and gave him a push until he released me. He looked breathless and as he stared at me, I saw his eyes flashing something I didn’t recognize. It was a mix between lust and fury. It was like his wolf was trying to take control of him and have his way with me.

“What the hell are you doing?!” I growled at him, feeling fury rising through me.

“I’m sorry,” he breathed, but he didn’t sound apologetic. “But you are my mate, and I couldn’t hold off any longer. I love you, Hannah. I want you to be with me.”

“Stay away from me, Henry,” I said to him through a clenched jaw.

“I overstepped,” he admitted, his eyes were finally back to normal, and he looked like his usual self. “It won’t happen again. I promise.”

“No, it won’t,” I said in return, wiping my mouth with my sleeve. “Because I’m not coming back here.”

I turned to leave but got a glimpse of a photographer across the street. Once he saw me, he saw me, he started running in the opposite direction. He was with the media, and he just saw Henry kissing me. I exhaled sharply and stumbled backward as the photographer disappeared down the street.

“Did you do this on purpose?” I whispered, not able to look at Henry.

“What?” He asked, confusion clear in his tone.

“Did you kiss me knowing we were being watched?” I asked again, firmly.

“No, of course not…” he tried to explain, but I didn’t want to hear it. “I’m sure it’s nothing; just some stupid kids or something. I wouldn’t worry about it.”

I hoped he was right, but I wasn’t going to stick around Henry’s house to find out.

I decided to go to the hospital and see Liam. I tried to visit him twice a week; I refused to let them pull the plug. However, we still couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. His conditions were unchanged, and I hated that I couldn’t do anything for him. I sat on his bedside and grasped his hands into mine. They were cold and lifeless. It was like he wasn’t there at all anymore.

Dr. Davis was kind enough to give us some privacy, after expressing his concerns about him staying on life support. I couldn’t bring myself to end my brother’s life. He was all I had; we were all each other had. I just hated feeling so helpless and not knowing what was wrong with him.

As I sat with Liam, I lost track of time. I wasn’t sure how long I was sitting there.

“Hannah?” I heard a voice coming through my mind.

It was Raya.

“Hey…” I said weakly, trying not to sound like I’d been crying. But she knew me well enough to know when I’m not okay. We hardly got a chance to talk these last few months because I’ve been so preoccupied with Sebastian.

“Please tell me what I’m seeing Isn’t true.”

I frowned; unsure of what she meant; for a moment, I forgot about the events that happened earlier this morning.

“Tell you what isn’t true?” I asked.

“It’s all over the news,” she said. “There’s a picture of you and Henry… kissing.”

“What?” I gasped.

I knew that man was the media. I could nearly slap myself for being so stupid. I should have dealt with this while I had the chance, but I was careless and just wanted to pretend it never happened. If Raya saw it, that must mean that Sebastian had seen it too. I didn’t tell him that I was going to see Henry. I’ve been so closed off from him these last couple of months while we figured out how to help him, that it almost seemed plausible that I would have an affair. It was going to look so bad; I needed to get home so I could explain myself.

“You were standing in front of his house, Hannah,” Raya said. “How could you do something like that?”

“I didn’t,” I told her, standing up from Liam’s bed. “I pushed him away right away.”

“Well, the media is making you look bad right now. You looked really into it…and everyone thinks you are having an affair.”

“I’m not having an affair, Raya,” I snapped. “You out of all should know I would never do something like that.”

“Sebastian is furious…” Raya whispered. “I could hear him destroying things in your bedroom. He’s pissed…”

My heart fell into my stomach at her words. Sebastian thought I was having an affair. He was believing what he was seeing on the media.

“You need to return home,” Raya warned. “Now.”

Sebastian

Breaking news: The very pregnant Luna Queen Hannah was seen kissing a man who wasn’t the vicious Alpha King. Could the queen have come to her senses and left the no-good wolf, king, after all?

Sebastian threw his phone across the room, causing it to shatter against his wall. He ripped the IV out of his arm and threw it to the ground. As he got out of bed, he knocked over all of Hannah’s supplies, scattering medical equipment across the floor. Fury rose through him, and he had to practice his deep breathing to keep his wolf under control. He was furious and he was hurt.

As he saw the picture of Hannah kissing Henry, everything around him was collapsing. She looked so into it. Her body was pressed against his. His arms were wrapped firmly around hers. Her eyes were closed, and it was no secret that his tongue was jammed into her mouth.

Hannah didn’t even mention to him that she was leaving to see him. He felt a sense of betrayal as he thought about the two of them together.

Sebastian wanted blood; he wanted Henry’s blood. He heard a knocking on his door, and he knew it was Arnold checking on him to make sure he was okay. He wasn’t sure how to answer that question. He was too furious to grasp his mind.

He grabbed the lamp on his bedside and threw it at his door, smashing it into bits and pieces. He was met with silence outside of his door. Hannah tried to get through to him via a mindlink, but he blocked her right away. He wasn’t ready to speak to her; not right now.

He needed to try and calm himself down before he spoke to her.

“She wouldn’t have an affair,” Eric tried to reason with him; it wasn’t his wolf that was losing control, it was Sebastian. His wolf knew better than to think that his chosen mate would do something like this. But Sebastian wasn’t sure what to think after seeing that picture. “Just wait until she returns. Don’t do anything stupid,” Eric growled.

Sebastian knew his wolf was right; he had to calm himself down. Just as he started to calm down, a wave of pain shot through him. He screamed in agony, falling to the ground. This pain felt like an electric shock going through his entire body, jolting him and eventually paralyzing him.

Soon, the door of his room swung open.

“Alpha?!”
