Chapter 2

"This is the men's room!"

The thug-like man was startled by Diana's sudden entrance, splashing water on his hand. He cursed under his breath.

Diana flipped her long hair and smiled seductively, "Why so jumpy? There's nothing here worth freaking out over."

The man called her crazy, quickly zipped up, and left.

In an instant, only one man remained in the restroom.

He was tall and had a commanding presence that was hard to ignore.

Unlike the previous man's panic, he was calm, looking at Diana with a thoughtful gaze.

It was her.

Diana recognized his face, too.

It was the same face from last night, overlapping in her mind.

She remembered how she had seduced him.

Diana's breathing became slightly heavier.

Michael had an aura of power, like a drawn sword, with eyes as sharp as an eagle's, as if he could see right through her.

Diana muttered, "Why the act? You seemed pretty happy last night."

She staggered forward and stood beside him, her gaze dropping as she looked him over, grinning mischievously.

"I'm surprised to see a girl walk into the men's room with her eyes wide open. Are you trying to be a perv?" Michael's previously cold demeanor turned playful, his voice teasing her.

His deep, sexy voice sent shivers down Diana's spine, from her ears to her neck.

If Michael hadn't spoken, Diana might have continued her bold gaze. But his teasing made her shiver, her face flushing a bit.

Diana bit her lip, her eyes falling on his thin lips, and murmured, "We used it last night, so what's wrong with looking a bit?"

Michael asked, "Did you enjoy it?"

Diana nodded, her alcohol-fogged brain making her smile, "It was good, just too expensive."

"You must be the top gigolo here. How much for a night?"

In a daze, Diana thought she might have underpaid last night.

Michael showed no hurry to leave, watching Diana with interest, as if trying to read something else from her face.

He asked, "Do you really not know who I am?"

"A gigolo," Diana blurted out.

Michael's face darkened, "My name is Michael."

Diana nodded, "Nice name. I'm Diana."

Feeling very uncomfortable from the alcohol, Diana started to lift her dress.

At that moment, someone pushed the door open.

Michael quickly pulled Diana into his arms, looking sharply at the intruder, "Get out!"

His voice was so cold it could freeze.

The man was startled and quickly shut the door.

Michael held Diana's hand, "You can't use the bathroom here!"

"I don't feel well." Diana's eyes were wet, like a doe lost in the woods.

Michael had found Diana attractive last night.

She was tall, with delicate skin, beautiful eyes, and wore a red dress that highlighted her slender waist. Even without trying, she exuded charm.

Like a restless fairy.

Michael, who usually kept his distance from women, had lost control because of her last night.

Diana pushed him, but lost her balance and fell, grabbing onto something to steady herself.

What she grabbed was soft at first, like cotton, then it became hard and hot, uncomfortable to hold.

Diana frowned and tried to let go, but Michael grabbed her wrist, making her feel the object in her palm.

It became increasingly indescribable.

It felt like a fire was burning in her hand.

Diana struggled, looking up at Michael, "I don't have money right now, you can't force me!"

She had left the Garcia family with nothing.

If she had to pay Michael, she'd be broke by tomorrow. "Let go of me, you perv!"

No matter how hard Diana struggled, Michael remained unmoved.

He even seemed to enjoy it.

"Let go of me! I really don't have any money. Go scam those rich women," Diana was almost in tears.

Finally, Michael let her go. Diana started to lift her dress again but remembered the gender difference, giving Michael a coquettish smile, "Turn around, no peeking."

Michael sighed, "This is the men's room."

Michael couldn't understand Diana's logic. She knew about gender differences, but didn't realize this was the men's room?

Diana was confused, "Men's room?"

"Yes, men's room."

"Men's room, then how—" With a scream, Michael watched Diana rush out the door, a determined smile on his lips.

Diana stood at the sink, splashing cold water on her face, trying to wake up.

Thinking about what she had just done, she wanted to chop off her own hand.

In her twenty-three years, she had never been so embarrassed.

Diana took a deep breath, comforting herself, "It's okay, it's okay, it was just a dream. I'll forget it all by tomorrow."

After calming down, she walked to the bar.

Nora saw her, "Diana, if you didn't come out soon, I was going to fish you out of the restroom."

"I drank too much and threw up for a bit," Diana tried to sound calm, not wanting Nora to notice anything off.

Diana propped her head on her hands, looking at Nora's smiling face, and sighed. It was hard to explain.

She had been having the worst luck lately.

"You, hurting yourself over your father? Is he really worth it?"

Diana gave a bitter smile. She had left home at thirteen, when Finn had still doted on her. In the countryside, she had waited every day at the village entrance for him to take her home.

But then Layla came to the Garcia family, bringing a sister two months younger than Diana, and later gave Finn a son.

So he forgot he had a daughter.

Nora hugged Diana, "You should cut ties with him. How can he be so shameless? Treating his mistress's kids like royalty while using you as a cash machine."

"He never spent much effort raising you."

Only Nora knew the hardships Diana had endured.

While others enjoyed college life, Diana juggled studies and part-time jobs to cover living expenses.

Listening to Nora's rant, Diana felt warm inside. At least someone in this world cared about her.
