"P-please...I don't want trouble," the homeless man said, putting his hands up.
With another guttural growl, the attacker suddenly shifted, his body twisting grossly as fur sprouted over his skin. His face elongated into a monster snout filled with sharp fangs as he dropped onto all fours, eyes wild.
A scream caught in Jessica's throat as the beast lunged, clamping its jaws around the homeless man's throat and ripping it open viciously. Warm blood sprayed across the ground as her mind reeled, unable to process the unholy horror unfolding just feet away.
The werewolf lifted its snout, locking eyes with Jessica as a few drops of red speckled her pale cheeks. A low, menacing rumble vibrated from its throat.
Jessica Ward was a very ordinary girl. At least, that's what she thought. She lived in Chicago and had a normal routine. She worked as a finance analyst, home prepped meals, budgeted her money, and sometimes went out with friends. She was good with numbers, data, and facts.
